  1. Just in case anyone is intersted.... here is the inside of a Gigant #2 Swedish Swamp Thing I got for my buddy Tim.... Id never really checked out the insides of a Gigant before so I figured I would share the results. All black and White inside and pretty decent print quality and paper stock....
  2. Chinese Batman. I showed this back in January. Its the same guy who is asking $250 for a Japanese Superman 300 and it later popped up for $6... http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHINESE-BATMAN-COMIC-RARE-SCARCE-/290902645373?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item43bb261a7d I've seen one of these (close up). I think I'm looking for something made by Marvel or DC. I admit that this one is rare, and that it might actually be the only Chinese comic (of any type/publisher) with Batman on it. I'm hoping for more things along the lines of the other reprints/variants we see in this thread. On the other hand, with the whizzes in this thread, they probably would have found something by now if it existed. Unless they're hiding something... nah... not hiding this stuff..... THere is stuff we keep close to the chest but I can tell you honestly there really isn't much that we have found.... there is a Hong Kong Spawn, but Chinese? I think its more likely to find Japanese, Korean and other pro-west democracies foreigns than Chinas. Do you speak Manderin? That would help...... Also, there is plenty of fan translation stuff..... but actually printed material has been elusive man....
  3. Yea that got fixed real quick didnt it! Swedish Punny limited 1.... disapointed how rough it is... might have to upgrade in the future.... but the consolation is I bet if this books exists in the states you could probably count it on one hand the copies here.... A very nice Usagi YoJimbo 1 Swedish... The Jonah Hex 1 Swedish......
  4. I know what book you're referring to. Really? They're the first appearances of Brainiac and Bizarro. Ahhhhhhh...... Shows what I know??? I'm curious tony, can't wait to see it!
  5. Do it Liam! (thumbs u Speaking of vids have you done one lately?
  6. Liam, from what I have heard the English copy is very rare, even for an EH comic.LMK first if you ever want to work something out for it. These are cool, interesting..... So the english language version was published by EH?
  7. Yes, I know about them, but haven't yet been able to get my hands on any copy, despite Iceland being a 'neighbour' nordic country. The population of Iceland is only about 320 000 people, therefore the print runs were very small, only about 500 copies of each issue. One peculiar (very rare) misprint in Sweden is a variant of Spindelmannen #7, 1986, which has a couple of the middle pages printed with icelandic text! I still wonder if Iceland has a similar variant with swedish text in the middle. Damn! 500? Wow, could be the rarest copper age foreign Spideys in existence up there with the taglog ones....
  8. Freakin nice man...... YKOil is lucky me thinks....
  9. That copy of Action 242 just sold on ebay within the last week, if memory serves it went for about $25. $50 seems high to me considering the tape on the spine. You know they are very early with the star and the block of text around them... who knows how many are out there?? I agree with Tim in that the condition seems to make the 50 dollar price point seem a little high? But if these specific books are what you are looking for and another buying opportunity doesn't present itself for a year, or 2, or 3, or ever? Whats that worth to you? Then again Tim said someone bought these and are flipping them for whatever reason? Alot of the value in the foreign niche is key based.... not completist based. Are these early supes key for whatever reason? Factor all of these issues in your decision to buy.... And at worst even if he doesn't have a offer function, send him a message with an offer stating that if the listing expires and they do not sell ask him what he would take?
  10. This is a hell of a set by the way! Damn if those damn South african supercomix were not so damn hard to source.... this book which is a scan BTW would top off that set like a cherry on a slice of cake....
  11. Yes the all important Iceland books..... Did you know about these spidercrazy? We are trying to find a database of them to see how deep the books went?
  12. Both very sweet!!!!!!! Those damn Greek books can be tough... though lately they have been getting squirrled out of hiding by a few of us!
  13. Again I will ask..... what time machine are you using to go back in time and pick these off a french canadian rack? They are freakin crazy beaut....
  14. Another great batch of books...... I aint gonna lie, im partial towards the Spanish 129!
  15. Dude..... amazing as a whole collection! That Justice league 1 is killer.....
  16. (worship) (worship) (worship) (worship) (worship) (worship) (worship) Agreed fully! Just wonderin if ya would do something for me Tim.... since the front of this NB looks pretty much exactly like the DC... could ya scan tha back for us? I wanna see that cool NB store ad.......
  17. What you are looking at folks is the largest known 227 set known in existence. Missing only one very important book I choose to remain mum about! Great books Ronnie!
  18. On the foreign books there's no standard. It just depends on how tough a particular books is to find and whether or not you're willing to wait for another copy to possibly turn up which could take weeks, months or even years. You also have to toss the concept of grade right out of your thinking process as in many cases it's difficult at best to find a copy let alone a mid to high grade copy. It's easier to find a whole lot of Golden Age books in the 6.0 or better range than the majority of foreign editions. What he said..... There is no standard to grade or price wise really! how do you put a price on something that has only come up for sale once.... at least as far as your awareness? You don't.... either you deal with the grade and pay what the buyer is asking or you wait another couple of years?
  19. Impressive! Big flame head fan I see.......
  20. Nice pick ups Tim! Posters included right? Beauts either way with or without the posters!
  21. I'm partial to the #232 as well, I don't even care what country it's from. (thumbs u What did they do to Ra's on the red cover? Looks like they put a dog mask on him. Its the same face but without the teeth detail.... a section of the front lips also has been darkened for some reason instead of its usual tone.... Losing the teeth detail def hurt this art.... but again as discussed in other threads when seeing foreign villians on red covers its kinda cool in a obvious way.... My favorite book of this set has got to be the EBAL version.... if you pay close attention alot of the other versions still have the Americans text clutter... the Brazilian EBAL is simpiler and cleaner.....
  22. Reminds me of Scooby Doo for some reason. Yea we are not quite sure why the French 227 has such a different batman? Its almost like the art for the bats in the background got lost or somthing? For whatever reason the background bats is clearly a repro by a french artist. However, the more blue-ish green handling of the foreground color art is quite interesting so the french 227 for me is like a girl with an amazingly beautiful a-s-s and body but fugly face. Your like "damn it was almost so perfect"! I will say that this is the nicest copy of this book I have ever laid eyes one.... its slab-worthy for sure as far as 227 foreigns go....
