  1. Is there a copy of Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw on your upper crust book shelves?
  2. Straw-Man, You are too classy to hang out with the likes of me.
  3. I apologize, but mine is the model that he used. Here is the actual glove used from my visit to the Baseball HOF. Mays endorsed McGregor gloves, but also used Rawlings.
  4. I also collect firearms literature. I am a premium member of the forum hkpro for fanboys of Heckler & Koch small arms. My forum name is BitterOldMan. This is the first page to dealer's literature for the great HK MP5.
  5. I also have a large collection of manufacturer's pinball literature. I have a restored 1975 Gottlieb El Dorado in my living room. Yeah, I know, purple label, not blue label. In college, I played six straight hours on El Dorado for 25 cents. When I left, I had the maximum nine replays that I sold for fifty cents. The owners of the arcade did not want us playing. After video games came out, pinball pretty much died out, but now there are pinball conventions all over the world.
  6. Snake, Mongoose, and Red Baron still in the package. I bought a Mongoose for my kid brother and he played with it like crazy. Also love the Boss Hoss.
  7. According to GCD (Grand Comics Database), should have 68 pages counting the cover. https://www.comics.org/issue/651/
  8. I am a big tank fan, so I was able to obtain a copy of the Tigerfibel supposedly owned by the late German Tiger Tank Ace Otto Carius, who claimed 150 enemy tanks destroyed during WWII. The Tigerfibel (tiger primer) is the owner's manual for Tiger 1 for crew members. Otto Carius lived to the ripe old age of 92. Front translates to "For Commanders and Tiger men." "Tiger primer... what a quick thing!" Took me several years to track one down with all the enclosed paperwork. The interior is full of funny illustrations and maintenance information. Like collecting comic books, it is the journey, not the having.
  9. I collect ephemera such as sports cards (baseball, basketball, football), nonsports cards, movie posters, and old car brochures. I purchased most of my paper before the prices went sky high. For example, I bought a 1985 Fleer basketball set for $20, which includes Michael Jordan's rookie card. I also collect old books by P. G. Wodehouse with dust jacket or dust wrapper as the Brits would say. Jeeves Omnibus was first printed in 1931 and is extremely rare with dust jacket. The dust jacket was oversized and usually discarded. I have a nice collection of old baseball gloves. My favorite is the Rawlings Harvey Haddix model HH used by Willie Mays to make the catch in the 1954 World Series.
  10. Must be getting real old, could not figure out where the boobies were. Not my copy below, but did buy one from the now defunct New York Collectible Paperback show, which ran on the same weekend as NYCC.
  11. The Giants went from the penthouse to the outhouse in a short time. Giants on pace to lose 100 games like in 1985. Dodgers have the best pitching staff that I have seen in years. For Dodgers to go all the way, Kershaw need to step up in the post season like Hershiser or Koufax. I am seeing players throwing so hard during the regular season that they get really tired during the much longer post season. Here I am in happier times. The bandwagon fans have left AT&T Park and are now Warriors fans.
  12. Best Robbie is the modern X-Plus version with transporter. I got one when they first came out. I still remember Robbie driving the transporter like a maniac early in the movie.
  13. http://www.calcomiccon.com/ Rick, call the hotel for convention rates. The hotel rooms are truly deluxe with jacuzzis and gigantic free breakfast in the morning. Hotel rate is one third SDCC rates.
  14. Robot Man You have some of my all times favorites in your second post. EC Tales of Terror Annual #1, Giant Comics Edition Diary Secrets #12, Teen Age Dope Slaves, Reform School Girl, Daisy Buck Rogers XZ-44 Liquid Helium tin Ray Gun, and of course smoking robot. Love your informative and always amusing posts.
  15. Woowoo! I last went to SDCC in 2014 and the prior 24 years. Have family events going on, so no SDCC for me this year. Will be going to NYCC and OAFCON.
  16. Unfortunately I am not attending SDCC this year, but there is a Lockjaw plush exclusive sold at the Marvel booth this year. Flippers are already selling them on eBay.
  17. Google https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/大佬 大佬 (Cantonese) elder brother; big brother (Cantonese) old buddy triad boss; boss; magnate I am referring to number 3.
  18. Thanks! Well packed. Fast shipping. Superior communications. Sharon also sent a freebie.
  19. Robot Man always delivers the goods. Pulp was exactly as described and well packed. Great price. Thanks!
