  1. So what? I have feedback of 2,407 I have left 3,956 comments for others (multiple sales / orders). I have been left 3,076 comments (multiple sales / orders). Always leave feedback. It is not what THEY do. It is what YOU do that matters.
  2. -slym I triple dog dare you to resurrect 50 threads from five years ago or more.
  3. Thanks for pointing this out. I have cut two pieces of cardboard and placed them on either side of the CGC slab and paper taped them together. Pertinent info is written on each side of cardboard. The box fits 10 this way. I'm hoping the cardboard will help protect slabs in the event of a natural catastrophe or the weight problem. Is 10 slabs really to0 heavy? 10 slabs seem fine... Just be careful when moving them.

  5. I have been reading through this since the thread's inception. I personally subscribe to the old model of scans with the older grading system for raws. G, VG, Fine, VF, NM. If I feel a book is between a grade I will say VF+ or VF-NM. I cannot stand behind a point system as I have personally seen books come back higher on straight resubmits by a full point. Recently acted as a third party in the sale of a book. The seller estimated the book at a 5.0. Both the buyer and myself estimated the book at a 6.0 with a 6.5 on a good day of drinking. The buyer has a history of some spot on grading. Book came back a 7.5. I feel it's safer all around to not guarantee an exact grade on eBay. On the boards, we act under the assumption of familiarity with the CGC grading process so it is a different story. Tuesday's 8.5 could be Wednesday's 9.0 and Thursday's 8.0.
  6. Snagged this shipped for less than $60. Retail is $110. Someone had one for $80 shipped - $15 coupon - $7 eBay bucks. Now there will be some modifications when I get it.
  7. You can smell the pernts, can't you. I've asked repeatedly and the answer is no. Ditch runs it. Oh? Link please - private or public...
  8. You can smell the pernts, can't you. I've asked repeatedly and the answer is no.
  9. This will eventually be showcased in my new thread.
  10. Cal-Bottm was something they backed me on once they saw the mods killed the thread. Friends for sure! They were loyal to a fault. I miss them both a ton. Me and TJ had lots of battles, but our last PM thread was just a classic. And, you and I have had lots of battles, but I know we can agree that those two are sorely missed. See that Mods? Cal's threads bring people together.
  11. My friend describes his marriage like this, "It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission." For example, I hosted a tailgate at a concert at the beach. He lives on the opposite end of the island and knew his wife wouldn't want him to see everyone without her and she didn't want to go. So he told her he was taking the kids to the beach. He packed up the kids and all their stuff and drove across Long Island to go to the specific beach where we had the tailgate. She was pissed but he reminded her that he told her he was taking the kids to the beach... he didn't say what beach. I think there might need to be a "Best of Comics General" thread.
  12. Now, if there was a best of Cal thread... Here is my understanding. If the thread was locked the posts can still be referenced since they still exist but the conversation cannot be extended. However the contents of scrubbed posts are off limits hence the fact they were scrubbed.
  13. He's going to build a chat board and the trolls are going to pay for it. This is so funny!!! I just laughed out loud and the people in Chipotle have no idea why...
  14. There are better ones that are locked. I was reading through some of them before at a conference and I couldn't stop giggling.
  15. Is your thread resurrection finger broken? You, my friend, are a bad influence. Cal-Surrection Coming up !!!
  16. There are other threads that should be resurrected
  17. Second battle of Genosis was intense.
  18. Five years older since I started this thread. In my mind less is more and I've been dillegently trying to buy less and sell off more. No one will want all this when I am long gone.
  19. There are very few Cal threads that have not been locked. They should be celebrated.
