  1. 1. Has Zombizzy read your PM asking for the address? 2. Zombizzy hasnt posted on the boards since 9:19am on 7/8, so its possible he hasnt been on to see your PM, but you're the only one who can confirm that. 3. Did Zombizzy already issue you your refund, or is he waiting until books are received (either way is fine, just curious which way he addressed this)? He contacted me at 9:20am on 7-8-13 asking if a certain refund amount was acceptable. I wrote him back at 9:33am on 7-8-13 asking for the address to ship the books back. Have not heard from him since. I have not received a refund as of this post. Does it show in your PM to him that he read your message back? Maybe he hasnt been on the boards since your response (so he would neither have your confirmation on refund amount nor see your request for his address). Now with a matter outstanding like this he should make a point to check back in on the boards, but who knows maybe something disastrous happened in RL. Until I saw that you stressed "did he read my msg" and I went back to check to see if there was a read/unread verification somewhere in the msg, I did not know that existed. Zombizzy has not seen the message I have sent to him yet. (thumbs u it's a handy feature especially for these type of situations.

  3. From right here in the subforum: Based on this we are still most definitely in the land of PL.

  5. where was mkkiller's ASM 40 listed? I see it got moved/killed for non-exclusive board offer, but I dont see it on ebay...
  6. The phrase that irritates me is "If paying by Paypal add 3%." Or any of the other variants of this phrase. mine is "photos/scans available upon request" if you have time to start a thread, you have time to post photos. If you dont care about your sales thread, why should I care?
  7. especially when cited by someone who's only been on the boards for a few months and has 100 posts... do you even know what "usual" means?
  8. Not hard to figure out who you are talking about.. If its who I think it is...he will get them out.. I know sometimes he takes a little longer.. But they will come. For him, and for others like him (that specialize in Con exclusives and the like) Con season is crazy, so he may not be the best at PM responses (based on what I've seen mentioned in the past). But from what I've seen in the end he comes thru, though yes as mentioned it may require a little more patience. You could also bump the sales thread in which you bought the books, that often gets his attention, asking for status of books shipping out from that con.
  9. thing if they're just going to yank the sales thread a few minutes later? Yeah that was poofed what, within an hour or two?
  10. You thinking 6 or 7 digit number, or something even higher? well from previous reports: So for a guy in his mid 50s, to walk away from say $150k annyally, even if thats another 20-30 years of payouts... it had to be 7 figures, unless the other owners had some way to threaten his stake in the company...
  11. I love a good digest for reading purposes. I think your best bet is to create some lots (by title) of 20-30 issues (after you've pulled the ones you want to keep) and sell them on ebay for $.50-$1.00/book (so a 20 digest bundle for $9.99 plus media mail shipping). Thats a lot of good reading on the cheap, and while it mike take a while to sell them all, I think you'll make your money back and then some.
  12. selling a reprint as a 1st print= ripoff sending an empty box = ripoff failure to disclose known restoration = ripoff trimming books and selling them = ripoff e-bay/paypal chargeback scam = ripoff selling a book as a 9.6 (with 9.8 potential) and having it show up as a 9.4 is hardly a definitive ripoff. Especially when buying from photos. Im not saying he wasnt at fault. He was. Im not saying he shouldnt have offered a full refund. He should have. Im not excusing his dragging this out. He should have addressed your PMs promptly Im just saying there's a bit of a gap between what may just be a combination of poor grading, poor handling/packing, and a lack of customer service versus active malicious attempts to defraud someone. Zombizzy took his public beating, got well shamed, and we have page upon page of his shortfalls. He is (now) making you whole with a refund. in the vein of sPb's post, take a breath and move on.
  13. wow is right. Knowing that the Dragon*con share/holdings was Kramer's lone legal funding I wonder how big of a check they had to write to him for those shares, or if they had some other legal arm twisting methods to "entice" him to sell. Either way Im thrilled that they can go into this year's con with that spectre no longer looming over head. It was going to be Story #1 for sure once the con started nearing. maybe I WILL go again this year
  14. Agreed, that seems to be standard practice. If Zombizzy offered to foot the bill, then that's certainly going above the standard conventions here on the boards. (though the amount of time it took to get to the point of refund was extreme)
  15. If we are going to be punitive, I suggest a new "Limbo" phases where the nominated user's IP is constantly redirected to Here! Oh the Horror!
  16. He is offering a refund only because he learned the "repercussions of being on the PL" and not because he know he made a mistake and as a seller he is responsible to fix such mistake. He is showing no goodwill at all. It took 3 months to offer a full refund to A.Romeo. If I was the buyer, I'll leave him on the PL for a month or two. It may seems harsh, but I think Zombizzy behaved poorly. 1. Plenty of people, sellers and businesses only make things right because of repercussions, not because of goodwill. Heck it happens, here, people just don't always express their intent behind their actions. This is just one instance with a spotlight shining on it at the moment. Intent should not factor in, just actions and results. 2. The purpose of the probation list is to push parties in a transaction to resolve their problem else face the scarlet letter of the PL. It is not meant to be punishment after the fact. All current PL listees have a way to get off the list and to make right their transgression. If Zombizzy has offered and follows through on the full refund there's nothing more he can do to make the transaction more right. 3. When dealing in raws its always tough. Did the seller send the same book pictured? Did the book get damaged in transit either due to sub-standard packaging or USPS gorilla tactics? Did the buyer swap out an undamaged book for a slightly damaged book and attempt to get a refund? These are all possible scenarios as unsavory as they are to admit. Thus both sides got touchy quickly out of thinking the other was trying to "pull one" on them. The most likely scenario is the book was slightly damaged (going from 9.8/9.6 to 9.4ish) some time between the sale photo and being received by the buyer. Maybe it was while the book was being packaged up, maybe it was in transit, who knows. End of the day the buyer intended to purchase a 9.8/9.6 book, and what arrived was not up to that grade, so he requested a refund. The seller offered a partial refund as a "meet in the middle" but when the buyer rejected it Zombizzy should have just extended the full refund offer and been done with it. now that thats been done (assuming its followed thru on) this matter is closed.
  17. Me too It doesnt matter. Beyond a full refund, the seller can do whatever he/she decides to do to further mend fences. For a buy who was agreeable, and the seller wants to keep as a future buyer he might make the overture above and beyond and let the person keep the book. but it doesnt matter, all thats owed is, at most, a full refund.
  18. Has anyone ever gotten put on the probation list for arguing in the probation list thread?
  19. 30 days after you invoiced him just send him a note saying that due to non-payment and non-response you are releasing him from this purchase, and have taken the book off the market. Both parties have 30 days to complete the transaction. After the 30 days if the buyer hasnt paid the seller is free to relist/resell the books or whatever (including your desire just to keep them). I'd just send him the notice so your tracks are covered.
  20. notify him that you're posting in this thread, give him 3 days, then out him and put him on the probation list. there's some directions in the first post of some of these threads somewhere.... Any outcome to this staples?
  21. GOT has previously stated: ...So he may not have gotten a big enough batch of books to make it worth him going to the post office yet. Have you PMed him asking for status on shipping? For real? What a douchey thing to say! obviously you are not a respected owner...
