  1. Tony I believe will definitely be there. Kirkman, duh. Charlie, I wouldn't bet on it to be honest. Check with Mark from Splashy Splash.
  2. I thought I was going to sneak that win in, but I'm glad you got it. Congrats!
  3. We have such a nice thing going with WD art, in that we're able to see a lot of the good stuff. There are so many collections where you NEVER get to see the goods. Very happy we have a group of guys on here that love to show and tell
  4. I think, if it's done right, it could certainly help keep interest for many readers, while obviously turning some readers off. Can't please everyone. Personally, whenever I think this series has gotten close to becoming stale, Kirkman throws a curve ball and keeps me interested. I've yet to read a series other than this that has been this long and has kept my attention pretty much the whole time. On a different note.. This page just came in: http://comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1158697 Now at the exact half way mark of completing issue #48! PHILLIP! Killing it. Well done.
  5. I've been stocking up on #1's for a while. So easy to find, and very pressable. Now, if I could only find issue #1 art!
  6. New TM page up for auction from Issue #5 with the full cast (Shane!). We've all heard about the coffee stained early issues, but this is very bad. Pretty nondescript page, but given the recent auction I have absolutely no idea how high this could end. The only pages i can think of regarding public sales for comparison were from eBay about 1.5 years ago. Both featured two characters (one with Dale and Rick on the R.V., the other with Lori and Shane). Both ended for roughly $3K, and weren't damaged. Also, can ComicLink hire an editor? http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2Fauctions%2Fsearch%2Easp%3Fwhere%3Dsell%26title%3Dwalking%2520dead%26ItemType%3DCA%23Item_1024987&id=1024987
  7. HAH. Isn't it maddening being a fan of the comic and the business behind it? Like, does this guy know what Google is? Congrats to the buyer, but that seller is probably being bombarded with messages offering WAY MORE.
  8. I think that one of his covers would go crazy. I was under the impression that there were only a select few individuals that would go above X amount for his work on TWD(and Adlard's work for that matter), but I'm starting to see a trend of a combination of new money and other collectors transitioning into the TWD market that make me think otherwise. Look at the Adlard page that sold on CLink a little while ago for over 4k. I believe the buyer hadn't bought any TWD up until that point and just wanted a "nice example", as he said, of the series. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1103490 I hate and love that page at the same time
  9. Late edit, I'm not sure if it's been raised, but I think this is an interesting situation where this has zero impact on Adlard early pages. TM's scarcity is driving this. Adlard cover's are perhaps a different story, but we all know where those typically end up.
  10. I recently (and randomly) coordinated a sale for a TM cover after I passed due to some recent purchases I made. I'm sure you can figure it out based on some searching (it wasn't Gene's #19!). That for me has been a huge point of reference for TM art, which is why I'm so dumbfounded by this auction, issue 1 or not. I won't say how much it went for publicly, but yeah, this auction changes EVERYTHING in my opinion regarding TM art, especially covers, which I believe haven't been publicly sold in a very long time. Hell, even his commissions for that matter will be affected by this, and rightfully so while he catches up with FMV.
  11. To be honest, I love great art, but I also love comics that are on time. Charlie went through hell to get through 100, so the fact that there are a few details lacking for me is excusable. Wish it were perfect, but that's why pages from pre-49 are so in demand. Well, at least the good ones...
  12. retro .......love the run you put together (thumbs u Thanks James. I actually do like what I put together to, I just want see if I can find a big enough frame and page 19 But anyways, about that art, walking dead pages aren't worth what they used to be unless it's from issues 1-6 Or maybe it's just like this between seasons, god I'd hate to see what pages will command when the series is over. Back to what they were before the series started? Long time art collectors want to chime in. Cause I honestly feel it in my bones. I hope so..........then I can buy a lot more But really I understand where your coming from. If I were to sell pages now, I don't think I would get what I paid for them. For me Its long term and I buy it because I love the book. Kirkman and Adlard have done a great job.Does everyone want their collection going up in value? Sure but most modern OA will be on the short end of the stick IMO........ thats why you need to ask yourself why are you collecting it. I totally understand to. That's why I have slowed down my OA purchases, actually I have slowed down a lot on everything. I think it's as simple as demand catching up with supply, plus the new inker. OA is better than ever, but also more readily available. Also, hate to say it, but the story is just too average compared to 1-48. Seems easy but that's my take.
  13. I don't even waste my time.........I feel you pain, its happen to me on a few. You would think the seller would contact you and see if its workable +1 I'd send him a message through eBay - otherwise, stop bidding on his reserve auctions. He might be more willing to be reasonable if he sees interest steadily decline with each relist. I've done this twice after the last two auctions. Way ahead of you guys.
  14. This is the 3rd time I've won this page. Just frustrating that this seller keeps the reserve so high on a price that clearly via auction isn't commanding much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301283444393?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  15. What's $10,000 to $20,000 between friends, anyway? (thumbs u Seriously, though...once James gets all the OA to issue 1 I'll be It's gonna happen folks...trust me! *tsk* *tsk* No it isn't. Agreed Mine isn't going anywhere DITTO. Buttttt, if i ever get sick of it, I now know Comic Connect is the way to sell. Holy smokes.
  16. My goodness who on earth is bidding this art up with 11+ days left?
