  1. Ah… To bring you down to earth… I don’t think I posted mine… Thanks to october for making it happen! (thumbs u
  2. Just received my third purchase from Mike and I couldn’t be happier: books are always tightly graded, and shipped in bomb-proof boxes at cost.
  3. I mean the face… and of course in the past, J. Scott Campbell has drawn Mary Jane with many different facial features… before he learned to draw better.
  4. That is nice but Cambell always draws Mary Jane like a teenager. I like how he improved his drawing a lot in recent times, but MJ should look a bit more mature, styles aside (same with Medusa, with many artists).
  5. Super-sweet – it has been my very first one-digit issue… Now I have a raw in similar condition (already posted).
  6. The poses on that Inferno cover look so innatural…
  7. These are actually still available for cover -15% off on Midtown. It's funny that some of the incentive variants have lower results than the A covers. The original covers are a lot better: how they used the painted artwork and the graphic design… they managed to give them quite a unique mood. The two variants with the painted covers are nice…
  8. I already saw that on Vimeo Matt… Nice presentation – not sure how uncommon that folder is as I never thought about it before giving it to you. (thumbs u
  9. you know it is a crazy high demand book when a copy missing the mvs clears 4 figs. Qualified or not it is an incomplete copy (1.0 or less in my book) You’re absolutely right. Even with a married mvs wrap it should not be close to the price of a normal copy. Here it is even incomplete…
  10. I don’t understand you, if you re-read what I wrote that is clear.
  11. Ms Marvel #1 (1977) is not the first appearance of Carol Danvers. Same can be said with Kamala Kahn in Ms Marvel (2014). Is it not a fair comparison? No, because Carol Danvers has been around for many years (first apperance is in Marvel Super-Heroes #13, the second issue of Captain Marvel) before becoming Ms. Marvel in her own title in 1977. And aside from the Point One brief story these single pages are just "teasers", if one wants to read Kamala Khan all he needs is to start from Ms. Marvel #1.
  12. I entirely agree. But I had an Avengers #6 with a star stamp, and never saw one with an insert…
  13. Ah I see – that’s very clear now… I thought you were talking about the printed comic books themselves. (thumbs u Jack managed to toss out some awesome pages with the Black Panther too, anyway. They are very atmospheric, especially the Kiber the cruel storyline, or the more metaphysical from the late Captain America books. Torgo: «How can I murder one that has shown me mercy?» Someone should have Hickman re-read these before he continues writing Marvels "their own (current) way"…
  14. What does it mean "the paper got smaller"? Chic Stone remains… Diablo… Giacoia was very original, not following so faithfully like Sinnott but nonetheless…
  15. I quite agree, as while it takes a little to get accustomed to Giacoia's inks, he’s as much as awesome as Sinnott. Hey, please include #64-67… And I do love Chic Stone too… Later on, some of the late 1970s tenure of Roy Thomas are beautiful… I believe it’s either Buscema or George Perez. I also like the wonderful covers Alan Davis did for the knowledgethirsty, morally ambiguous and unlikely Reed Richards in the Hickman tenure…
  16. Aside from your discussion, better to learn the difference between Neal Adams and Arthur Adams before moving on… Or not?
  17. A common reader would – in most cases – don’t care, but I don’t think it’s the right way to pose the question. This was a common situation with many italian comics: there were certain advertising inserts which were added only for a small portion or the print run, or in certain regions of Italy, or more than an insert in the same issue according to the zone / circumstance etc. Generally speaking, what is part of the book are the ads which are printed in its pages… added portions which are 100% advertising, and not officially "endorsed" by the publisher as part of the "in-built" advertising are not part of the comic in its essence, but an added element. Obviously this is relevant for a collector, especially on an historical perspective, but since they are additional I believe it is fair that they just demand a premium but they should not be considered "part of the book" in its organic. Here the issues without these inserts are the rule and considered complete, but of course certain collectors are willing to pay crazy prices for these. There are also other cases, where the element/insert was actually part of the book (like the ASM tattooz, for example), but we have cases in Italy where the gadget/insert is SO rare that a copy with the gadget is considered an exception and often is proposed by a dealer which manages to find a copy at 80-100 multiples of the normal price (i.e. a 10 Euro book is offered at 1000 Euro).
  18. A publicitary insert of this kind is not "part of the book" as it was not meant to be in all copies, so I can’t see why they should judge it as "incomplete". It’s not like, say, the tattooz in ASM #238, which are part of the entire print run: only a part of the print run of these books had the ad inserts of National Diamonds / Mark Jewelers, and they are an added element.
  19. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Spelling errors noted. Either way I do agree that Kamala is a throwback to the original marvel days of real creation and I hope they keep her on that path. Real fun to read and I am a fan. I believe beauty has of course its subjective facets, but it is an objective thing, and I am also not sure if you were saying this as related to collecting: what I mean is simply that you are reasoning as a "traditional collector" (if there is such a thing) while even the most passionate Ms. Marvel reader could not care so much about having a second print of a Captain Marvel issue featuring Carol Danvers (and badly drawn too) just because of a (albeit nice) cover. That was my simple point. Also, I just read Ms. Marvel #14 and I couldn’t agree more: I loved it, I hope Wilson will keep developing her with the same consistency.
  20. Awesome! (thumbs u Paulo, now you have to give me one of your Point Ones… Just kidding, I’d be perfectly fine with a second print… I like the color scheme better too.
  21. This debate sounds pretty much hollow as it’s not clear if we are talking of what is more "desirable" as a book and what is the actual first Ms. Marvel story. The Point One is clearly the first story (I have not read it, but it has been confirmed) while the second print of Captain Marvel #17 may be desirable and scarcer but it doesn’t change the fact it’s not the first story and of course proper appearance. This does not mean the #17 should be less valuable, it just means most people do not care about such details, but want to have the story, and as much as one might like the cover variants, it’s something additional. And please, it’s Kamala Khan, not Kamala Kahn.
  22. Yup, Theyll be here someday for their 24 hours of fame (thumbs u Power Pack, at least for a good portion of issues, has been one of the best series put out by Marvel in the eighties. I surely hope they remain "cold" as I have to upgrade/improve my collection, but at last now I have a decent #1 and feel more relaxed.
