Petty sure, yeah. I have #158-713 and I don't remember any issues without this logo until the reboot with the new #1 (#667). The only exceptions were variant covers I think, but the regular editions had this one.

Batman. Bill Finger.
Based on the info there, it seems to be people who are still alive. I'm struggling to think of A-list DC characters where that's the case though.

The part that jumped out to me was this, which isn't relevant to Wolverine, but:
"THR learned of an instance in which the co-creator of an A-list DC character secretly maneuvered behind-the-scenes to have themselves listed as the sole creator on paper, with regard to merchandise or adaptations, cutting their partner out of payments. According to a knowledgeable source, the other co-creator only learned of this maneuvering years later when a Warner Bros. theatrical employee noticed the discrepancy ahead of the release of a movie featuring the character. (The wronged co-creator now receives payments, but is said to not be on friendly terms with their former collaborator.)"
Someone's gotta know who they're talking about.

One thing I wanted to mention about this issue is that it is considered to officially be the first issue of the ongoing series by Stan Sakai.
This is a distinction that may be too fine for casual readers or collectors. But given the constant reboots and relaunches that are commonplace in comics now, "1st Issue of the ongoing series" kind of loses its importance when there are several ongoing series. This is of course true of Usagi Yojimbo which is now on its 4th ongoing iteration, so there are four #1s not even counting the Summer Special.
Marvel addresses this with their legacy numbering, so no matter how many Avengers #1s come out, you can easily see what the real, first one is.
What most people probably don't know or care about is that Usagi Yojimbo also has legacy numbering. It's on the inside of the book. Here's a recent issue:
Under this numbering, Usagi Yojimbo Summer Special #1 is the first issue. Usagi Yojimbo #1 (1987) is the second issue.
I doubt most people care or that this will move the needle on price, but I think it's important!

Avengers Forever 1-12 is on an upward trend. I would buy as many complete sets as possible now and hold for a long while. I could realistically see this becoming a $200 set on the high end. So many good Kang issues in the series and 12 issues really makes it difficult to complete the set
It should also be noted that there are some variant covers in this run - some pretty early ones, as this came out in 1998. There's a store excusive variant cover for #1 featuring Kang limited to 5000 copies, which is the big one. There are also multiple variants for issue #4 though I don't know any print runs. Right now none of the #4s seem to be any more or less valuable than the others.

Avengers Forever #9 has the detailed origin of Kang for those interested. Not sure if it's been retconned any since, but as a Kang fan, it blew me away when I read it at the time.

Yes and yes
SpoilerYes, but while we knew he was playing Kang, which suggests some of his other versions might appear, the version in episode 6 is 100% straight up Immortus, not Kang. So that's new.
Not sure movie fans or the speculator base will care unless they say the name, wh8ch they didn't, but for anyone who has read the comics, it's very clearly Immortus. The story is also based to a notable degree on Avengers #267-269 for those who care.

From the comics I always that he was more actions speak louder than words and I’ll be honest sometimes in the final episode it fell in the category of buffoonery
im used to that with villains like the Joker not for someone like the one we saw here
This was Immortus. He's always like this. It's why Kang hates him so much, because he doesn't want to turn into a yammering old man.
Kang has been my favorite villain since I started reading comics, so I'm over the moon.
I think it's been pointed out, but the story in Avengers #267-269 was clearly the foundation for this. Details obviously different due to the MCU, but the bones are there.
SpoilerIn particular, that storyline features Ravonna working with Immortus against Kang. Note in episode 6 that right after she reads the files he wanted her to read, she exits the story for parts unknown. I think she is his ace in the hole to fix things if they go wrong (which they did).
Curious if Avengers #10 goes up from this. If they said thename Immortus it would have gone up 10x already but you have to know the character to understand it's him.

I think the overall quality of Charlton's output went downhill around 1966/7 myself - certainly in terms of what I like personally - but some of the romance titles happily buck that trend. I love this cover for example:
She's just adorable, isn't she
Interesting to see the progression from Silver to Bronze in that title - separated by a mere 15 years and yet seemingly worlds apart:
Volume 1, #22, November 1961 Volume 8, #112, August 1976@Crimebuster - as OP, do we have your blessing to extend into bronze here?
Sure! Bronze is my favorite romance era. I think things start changing a little earlier with romance than some other genres anyway - I see Bronze elements creeping in by 1967. So there's a lot of overlap in eras.

My new comic Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam went live on Kickstarter today. Unlike my ongoing series The Crimebusters, which I've shown art of before, this one I am only doing the writing, with art by Jay Piscopo.
However, I did draw some of the variant covers myself, so I thought I'd show those off here.
The comic started as a print I did, and then grew from there into a full length 32-page comic one-shot, so I decided to use the art form the print as a variant cover. It's done as a vintage wrestling poster, so I including some wrestling stuff in the story as well when I wrote it. Here it is:
Then, since it's Uncle Sam, I thought it would be fun to do a Cthulhu-centric take on the classic Uncle Sam recruitment poster:
And finally, I did this variant mostly for my own entertainment:
If anyone's interested in seeing the project, or the art from the other artists who worked on it, you can check it out here on Kickstarter.

I bought a 9.8 from Heritage a couple years ago but when it arrived the book had a bunch of rippling on the cover that could not be seen in scans, so I returned it. I ended up settling for an 8.5 for 10% of tge price, but I wish that 9.8 had worked out!
There could possibly be a Phantom Stranger bump in theory - not sure for what issue though - as he plays a key role in her Vertigo series and is involved in her origin, which was told in the first couple arcs of that series.

I was actually reading them so I mostly bought reader grade copies and the only issues I didn't buy were the ones reprinted in cover to cover Marvel Milestone Editions. About five years ago, every time a Marvel movie or TV show was released, I began selling off that collection on ebay. Why? To finance my own comic book company! And this month that company just made its debut in Previews with The Heroes Union #1 by Roger Stern, Ron Frenz & Sal Buscema. I know most of you don't care about that, but here's a link to the Previews page for those who are curious to see what I wasted all those profits on.
So that's my non-sob story. Anybody else ever felt compelled to sell their collection for a GOOD reason. What did you sell and why?
I am in the process of doing kind of the same thing, for the same reason. I'm not getting rid of my whole collection, but I am downsizing it by about 1/3 in order to raise funds to self-publish some comics. For the last two years, I have been self-publishing a series called The Crimebusters that I write and draw (you can see the first three issues here on Indiegogo if you're curious), which is a continuation of the Crimebuster strip from the Golden Age series Boy Comics. And I also have a new comic called Cthulhu vs. Uncle Sam coming out (here's the Kickstarter pre-launch page) with writing by me and art by Jay Piscopo.
But I really want to expand and do more projects, which means hiring more artists to draw my stories. And that means raising the initial capital, so... downsizing the collection! I've sold off enough so far to just about fund one more one-shot, but I have a lot more stuff I'll be selling later this year once I have the time to go through everything. Hopefully by this time next year I'll have a couple more new comics coming out!
For what it's worth, I had already heard of your comic on another forum and I'm planning to check it out. Looks cool!

Anyone know the print run on Destroyer Duck #1?
-
Yes, this has happened to me multiple times during the pandemic. Shipping companies are happy to charge extra for the service without ever actually providing that service. It's a scam, in my opinion. They know they aren't going to collect the signature, so they shouldn't be offering it as an option.

That's... odd. When I started getting into Charlton romance 3 years ago, this issue is one of the first ones I got and I don't think I paid more than $10 for a VG+ copy. I certainly didn't have any competition at the time. Your copy is much nicer anyway!

I'm not sure the thing is anything.
But, just to play along. It could be Doctor Strange flying with one of those mystical shields he makes.
