  3. nice, I tragically bought two "NM" copies that have turned out to be VF+ copies...
  4. isn't it interesting that I'm not seeing many Marvel horror covers?...hmmm.... Could it be because DC ruled the horror roost during the Bronze Age? What say you?!?
  5. I have 2 but I love that cover so That's ok, I'm in no rush...
  6. Maybe if I'm bored tomorrow, I'll scan more? Actually, I do have the complete Dark Mansion run saved! My #8 "NM" from LoneStar had a nasty back cover stain...and I just got sniped out of #7 today...anybody got a spare #7

  10. Greggy is correct. Congratulations! I'll get some more trivia later today!
  11. The price is reasonable. 9.4s have sold in around the $200 range. I can get one for $200 if I really want it but I have a raw copy that has a good shot at a 9.6! But...that book is common in HG. Warehouse find in the mid-90s timeframe. That's why you see lots of Young Love 107-109 and Young Romance 197-199 while the later numbers are harder to find. Well, to quote some of the horror covers.... WELL, NOW YOU KNOW! BTW, grider this is a HORROR thread, keep that kissey kissey stuff off here...
  12. hey, the seller is in the same city as CGC---don't start another conspiracy hypothesis
  13. Zonker is correct. Next question: Can you name the story from The Witching Hour that follows the same theme from the 'Fight Club' movie with Brad Pitt (ie delusional person makes up a fictional person in order to do things he wouldn't ordinarily do). Issue number, story title, and plot summary. A hint--look in the 52pagers early in the series.
  14. OK, losers--no one answered. The Shade Next question: What was the name of the mystery host who always talked to his imaginative friend and what was the friend's name?
  15. very nice cover....for me Charlton has mixed quality issues. When I was growing up I called Charlton the "cheap comic" because of the decidely more inferior quality in terms of the stories, art, and paper quality. Make no mistake though, there are some good issues. Ditko didn't do it for me while I grew up (I wasn't even born yet when Ditko had completed his Spidey run); he kinda grew on me as I expanded on my collecting universe. Some of his art in the Charlton series was pretty good. I definitely love some of the painting covers...here's another one that kinda reminds me of the Killer Teddy Bears issue in Weird Mystery Tales:
  16. sorry, I'm gonna be jaded because everything I read and collected was DC for the most part for horror stuff. I've only just recently collected the many Marvel reprints
