This is disconcerting to me as well, the only upside is that our 9.0s and 9.2s may really be 9.4s and 9.6s in disguise! You would think the higher prices might have brought some fresh books to market, but instead I think they kind of caused the genre to stagnate...and lower demand = lower prices.
Well, isn't that part of the game? Have me waste $40+ per book to "possibly" upgrade them and bring them to a market that can't sustain my costs. Sounds like a great idea to me .
I've got kaboodles of raw books but don't really see the point to slab em. Maybe their minty freshness will smell good in my casket on my burial.
I've got a free year of "Premium" CGC services, so I guess I can submit and see.
What's the current grading standard du jour? Are we tight, loose, or just right? I'm comparing to the Steve era of grading.
