  1. They better get a marketing strategy then; no way am I going to pay for the rights to view the comic if I can hold it (at the same price point). That being said---I do buy digital comics for a few titles I want to read and "experiment" with...and the classics.
  2. Yes, but some posters here would not have an opportunity to get up on their high horse. It's etiquette...actually folks trying to be considerate of someone's personal space. Nothing more from what I've seen.
  3. Unless things have changed, you have to list tiers of service on separate invoices.
  4. +1 I was just thinking that. Actually, very cool he did that. OP's letter must have been intriguing enough to respond to. This is the secret to life. Do as little as possible 95% of the time, so that any little effortless gesture has a tremendous impact. I wonder how long I would last in my IT job if I did that. Promoted to management!
  5. You're jealous of a grumpy letter? I suspect if Ditko's poop was in an envelope folks would be jealous.
  6. Not that he wouldn't write a letter. He wouldn't sign anything or do interviews. I did laugh when he created his own signature block, like the signature wasn't clear enough. Steve Ditko Steve Ditko Yeah. He's old school, man. Expecting ROFLMAO or something? I don't honor requests for signatures. Yours truly, [font:Comic Sans MS]DiceX[/font] DiceX

  8. They do have to pay a bill, no idea if it's "hefty". CGC enforces faster turnarounds on books based on value to prevent this issue. If there's a "lot" of "cheap" books there, no idea what the formula is for their insurance. Average value perhaps? Curious...if a book let's say Amazing #15 and it was submitted under regular Economy for $800,000.00, Would CGC pay allot of money for that book sitting in the warehouse? Or would they grade that book as soon as possible? Based on value, it has to be graded Express, and it would be in/out in about a week. Based on book value of $800,000, it would need to be submitted under Walk Thru. Express has a max limit of $3000 value per book. Correct, my bad.
  9. nice! I could absolutely see myself collect the DC 12/15 centers. Glad to see some more have come to market.

  12. That may be true, but the samples of books graded in the last couple of years were a far cry of grading standards I observed in the 2003-2006 era. Granted it's a statistically insignificant sampling I've observed, but I've seen enough over the last decade to know that grading "trends" at CGC have indeed emerged, even if it's only in my head
  13. Stop going through your LCS and spend $50 or so and do it direct---and you can check up on the status on the CGC web site.
  14. Is it illegal to swipe yourself? I'm not sure if he remembered it...but the placement is more or less spot on. Missing Mr. Kubert.
  15. That crazy Joe Kubert. It looks like I found another cover swipe or at the least one that pays serious homage to another.
  16. During my brief intense search for these books, I found this to be true as well. You've motivated me to keep my books and keep looking. I don't know if I should thank you or curse you Based on the fact that this is the horror thread - curse. Off to collect something popular.
  17. Most people can read their Moderns in under 3 minutes, not sure what you are saying there. It took me ~20 minutes to read a silver book...I can read a bronze in about 15 minutes. Sounds like the trend is in reverse.

  19. I've teetered on selling my TODs, but I still want to collect the series. Very nice accomplishment! If only ANY of my titles could be complete. Ten years later and I think the only title I've completed is Dark Mansion.
  20. Long term all television shows should end. After that time frame, several years after, should be the best time to buy. Yep!
  21. I agree. Kirkman used to allow me to get invested in characters---now after No One is Safe I assume everyone can die--and as such I don't invest myself in any one character like I did before---and I would even bet that Kirkman has even distanced himself from character development since then. It makes for a soul-less venture where moral ambiguous actions are required for daily survival. I think Michonne is cliche now...people are propping her up. She hasn't showed much of herself as a person since the Governor's abuse.
  22. Cardy in my opinion (because I collect his books and work) is terrific with this piece he did. This is one of my favorite covers. (thumbs u It's on eBay
  23. The schedule for the book, while consistent, is showing in terms of the storylines and general art. The addition of the variant covers is a turn off to me. I remember having to read it every month...I'm more or less forgetting about it, even despite what happened in #100. Like the survivors, I feel like we've simply wandered in terms of a story since #48. No one will admit the book is cracking...everyone is still on their TWD high. Make no mistake---everything rises and falls...and I think we will reach the top with season three. After that, I think we will start noticing a drop--it won't happen overnight---but it will happen.
