    Artistically yea sure, but Snyder has written an original Joker character into New 52 with Endgame which is the basis of Batman Who Laughs. The name itself is just to differentiate the evil Batman from the others from the Dark Multiverse since it's basically an entire Justice League + of Batmen hybrids. I think the idea will carry this character further than any critique of his style artistically since stories always drive comics at a base level. Plus you got other versions of the style in Lord of the Rings And if you want to go further back, Judge Death was introduced the same year as the animated LOTR movie which also had the Mouth of Sauron who looked like this

    I wouldn't call you silly for grabbing a $30 copy since this book has major potential based on DC's plans for the character. I got a copy myself at a show last week. Better to have one and lost 25 bucks than have none and potentially $$$.

    Hmm I've never tried an online service. My lcs generally has my books in nice condition, it's a small single owner shop and he's pretty careful handling his stock.

    I've had a worse experience when a store owner charged me $10 for a book I requested he order from Diamond backstock because it matched the ebay price. I've taken to religiously securing my copies through pre-orders this past year so I never have to deal with secondary market shenanigans.

    How did you find the print run? Copies are selling for $10-20 on eBay because it's sold out at many places. Great read BTW, best single first issue in all of Rebirth for a new title. Very promising.

    When I went to my LCS earlier there were about 20 copies of cover A and 4 copies of cover B left on the shelf. I don't normally like the Tim Sale covers but grabbed it in addition to the regular for this issue.
