  1. After the writer tweeted a hint during Nycc, I posted about it in the venompool debate thread
  2. Two days ago Kieron Gillen tweeted a picture of a cosplayer dressed as Aphra with the title "The doctor is in". People are speculating that his yet to be named Star Wars title starting in December will be an Aphra solo series, hence the recent influx of sales of her first app. A solo title in canon could eventually lead to a movie part, not necessarily in Rogue One but a future movie.
  3. Great season premiere. We all know from Flashpoint Paradox that even if Barry "corrects" his actions there are still some things that change permanently, it's impossible to go back 100% to pre-flashpoint timeline. Also random probably unrelated fact, NFL tv numbers are down from this time last year, maybe people are just watching leas tv in general this year across the board.
  4. Well I guess it's safe to say nobody saw that death coming... Everyone's in shock
  5. Negan is not gonna die, bank it. He's Rick 2.0 Right now in Image + magazine they are doing his origin story and there's still at least 4 more issues to go. Plus the TV show... It just doesn't make sense for it to be him at this point.
  6. Venom is a popular character but he's no Harley Quinn. Is there a hotter character than Harley right now? Deadpool What time period are you looking at? Over the past year, yes Harley has been more popular, Deadpool before her. I would say Venom is pretty hot for no confirmed movie appearance and definitely the flavor of the moment. Venom is picking up steam ever since people found out he's coming back to earth after being banished into the depths of space for a period of time. Other than that he's been hot since the McFarlane days. Definitely comic fans boosting up Venom and not Hollywood / pop culture / movie speculators.
  7. This thread shows the age of the forums
  8. I gotta say I'm loving how they are mirroring the current Batman comic crossover arc Night of the Monster Men with the tv show right now even though they are completely separate times and universes. It just makes it more enjoyable for me to see what young Bruce and the characters in Gotham would do if Hugo Strange created a bunch of monster men, and compare it to what current Bruce and the Bat Family would do in the comics if Hugo Strange unleashed a group of monster men on the city. The addition of Court of Owls and Talon on the show also reflect the most popular arc in Batman comics in the past decade. It can't be coincidence, it's smart attention to detail on DC's part that a lot of people don't notice. Unlike Marvel, evidenced by the thread in general right now where people are hating the fact the movies dont relate to the current comics in any way whatsoever and are alienating their fan base. Gotham and Flash are my two favorite comic shows currently on air.
  9. What am I missing here..price mistake? Seems like a reputable seller and he did a buy it now http://www.ebay.com/itm/CGC-9-8-NM-M-MINT-BATMAN-SUPERMAN-JOKER-DELL-OTTO-COVER-FRENCH-EURO-VARIANT-LIM-/162058728559?hash=item25bb73f46f:g:5zYAAMXQVT9Svdy1 Wow I was following a recent auction of that book this week, that's definitely a mistake.
  10. Hell of a find congrats. The only collection I bought this year had a hidden gem in it as well, always nice when that happens.
  11. Apparently the boys are working on Volume 2 now. Can't wait to pick it up!
  12. Nice leg show cover. How are the stories? Just got it and haven't read it yet. As a whole this title has pretty good art with GGA and VERY violent. Stories are usual crime fare reading wise. Just picked this one up over the weekend. Surprised to find a couple wild west stories in there, figured it would be all early-mid 20th century gangster. Love the use of the term "gat" for gun that modern wanna be gangsters seem to love these days. Lots of murders in each story. Like a 4-5 pages story can have 6+ kills. It's definitely no EC though.
  13. Suddenly a blind pre-order for 3 books from a good artist for $44.99 - $75 doesn't seem so bad.
  14. My first "Space Girl" and also one of the prettiest golden age sci-fi covers I've ever seen. The colours and composition always blow me away, whenever I see a pic of it posted here I'm drooling.. Even though it's a rag, it's the first chance I've had to own this one so jumped on it. Can always upgrade later right?
  15. Totally agree with that, great mix of classic and new that really worked, I've been picking up books as they come out but I'm a bit behind on my reading.Hal Jordan is next on the list The Hal Jordan book starts off with some complicated stuff for new readers, I had to get my buddy who is a GL fanatic to give me a run down. I don't even understand it all. Ha that's fine with me as I'm fairly familiar with most of the GL mythos, really looking forward to it after seeing that cool Sinestro cover Just read the Hal Jordan issues (up to #4) gotta say I'm liking it so far. As a long time GL fan I didn't find anything too bewildering. I feel it's the tying up of previous storylines that may cause some confusion but it didn't really affect my enjoyment of the issues. Oh don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a convoluted story or anything like that, just for new GL readers it would leave a lot of questions about how it starts out. Hal having the Krona glove, being the last of the GLs, why the corps is lost and having to find their way back, why Hal used the glove / gave it up to get a GL ring again... which happens to be a downgrade from the glove... I've only read John's original GL Rebirth and Blackest Night arc previously.. Everything else had to get a run down for who/what/why.

  17. Red Hood is great! It's basically the Trinity of castaways Red Hood - Batman Artemis - Wonder Woman Bizzaro - Superman So far the writing and art has been really solid. Good first few issues.
  18. It's the 500 print run making the secret variant desirable, one of the lowest Dell Otto print runs and we have seen what those have done in the market previously.
  19. Could be medical marijuana . . . Medical marijuana's responsible for 50% of all comic book speculation purchases.
  20. Great stuff this weekend everyone. I haven't had a chance to go out hunting a long while so I'm living vicariously through you all at the moment.
  21. Good to hear, glad Marvel didn't go all in and make her a flash in the pan.
  22. Sorry, my dude. My stupid brain was stuck on AKARick's comments. No worries.. My skepticism stems entirely from the fact that there are so many errors getting by into the wild. Could just be pure incompetence somewhere in the chain this year.
  23. You seem to think I was saying there are a lot of people making money on errors. All I said were there were a bunch of error books in Rebirth.. The Green Lanterns happened to have big press so it's getting pumped up.
  24. Now im googling, here's one i didnt know existed before this minute http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-1-Rebirth-Second-Print-UPC-CODE-ERROR-111-NM-DC-/272320726943?nma=true&si=DI8UVDTOKaXPJNpQPcZQ7tfCXs4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  25. Harley released with the wrong printing number on the barcode, it should have ended with a 1 not a 2 to indicate which print it was. The Batgirl ad was an ad sure and it was an error. I'm just going off the top of my head on these but if I'm holding 4 comics in my hand that contain errors would you call that a bunch of errors or not?
