  1. ROSEN - Condition of the #34 2nd print you got from the guy who has 234259 copies and one horrible point-n-shoot camera? Also while on the topic of #35...I had HugeRosen pick me up a copy while he was at some out of town LCS, after I got it from him he mentioned how he never actually checked to see if it was the error copy, so of course I did what comes natural, and messed with his brain for a night. We both wanted that error copy badly, and were joking around that the copy he gave me would turn out to be the error and I'd of course give it back to him. Well I told him the copy he gave me was in fact the error version, I even went as far as finding a picture on the internet and sending it to him pretending I just took that picture as proof I was holding the error he just unknowingly gave me, he was squirming and freaking out, threatening me to give it back after I told him it was mine and I'd sell it back to him at 5x the price, etc., it was glorious.
  2. craigslist Ahhh I keep forgetting about CL. I went on a massive hunt about a month ago and searched every county in my state and tons of less populated states hoping to find that boondocks townsfolk selling his WD collection for $50 I actually found one person in like Montana with a WD #19 for $30 but they wouldn't ship it. Said it was in great shape too. I made a small mention of eBay out of context and he said he never goes on eBay so I can imagine he genuinely had no idea how much it was really going for. I should have drove there...
  3. Mile High isn't so bad as long as you use their discount codes. Their back issues are pretty much always 40-60% off. This code is good for a few days: NEALADAMS! Sweet thanks! I may use it to get #15 I've been needing.
  4. Not to sway topic, but where else do you guys get your fix outside of LCS, eBay, mycomicshop, and midtown? I looked at Mile High but their prices were mile high for me unfortunately. Any other hidden gems out there?
  5. I have ample room you can store all your keys at As far as Jesus goes, I think he's a perfect fit for TV. Season 5 watch out!!
  6. Dude I'm right there with you, when #91 came out, I was like "gotta stock up on this issue, this guy will be key", then I soon starting realizing that everyone on ebay and CGC were considering #92 his first appearance...I was like "huh? I saw him in #91... Just curious, but what makes #7 and #10 key?
  7. Variants that will hold value, not sure, however the #33 2nd print (blue cover) goes for a lot, was selling for ~$70 in April to now selling for over $150, you can see the history here. Other than that there weren't many variants at all before #50, so you're best bet are the keys, 1-3, 6 (though Shane wasn't really a big player in the comic series), 19, 27, 48. I personally feel all those will hold value even after the show ends. Those will always be the books people remember I feel. Issue 27 also has an error copy out there (though I've never seen it on ebay in the last 3 months) whereas the first couple of pages and last couple of pages are duplicated, thus rendering the story incomplete for that issue. If you happen to have that, I have no idea how much that would go for, but I'm sure there would be people out there willing to pay a premium for it, again, I've been on ebay every single day for 3 months now and have yet to see it get listed or even see anyone here on the boards with it.
  8. In that case keep #61 and 63 as well. #92 is the first appearance of Jesus who in my opinion is key and he could last a really long time and become a key person later on, though a friend disagrees with that. #3 is a very desirable issue as well due to its lower print run.
  9. 1 2-love the cover 9-favorite cover of the series 48-all Hell breaks loose 75-letters page has my first published letter 79-letters page has my second published letter featuring a poem Love the whole series but those are the ones I personally would want to stockpile Do you see anymore holding value for the long haul? #19 or #27? Or maybe #6? 19 and 27 for sure at the very least throughout the duration of season 3. #6 has already declined actually and hasnt really sold like it used to. I would say 48 will hold value up through to what happens in the book happens on the show. I also would add #50 superhero variant to the list just cause I think it's the best looking cover in the entire series, thats just my biased opinion though as I have a love affair with that cover.
  10. Been hangin' out on Sextillion again? If only...
  11. just over 6,000 copies. maybe not as rare as the serbian #2 b/w, but up there Aaaaand now I'm looking for another book to find.
  12. I am guess around 3000 copies will be made. According to Liam Brenner (coordinator of the escape) he said that the expectant participation is between 10-12k. Highly likely this will be an extremely common variant. Though I will be there offering $10-$20 at the end to purchase said variants. No seriously, I'll buy one from you if you get enough to sell. As long as you aren't charging $250 I was really planning on this variant going for ~$15-60 or so, but the $250 came out of left field for me. Sheesh.
  13. That would explain why he was more than happy to sign unlimited books for CGC grading. You have to argue about everything ... the guy encouraged people to rip out pages from issue 2 to complete a survey because the joy of reading the book is what he indicated was most important ... He's done how many conventions in the last few years? The point is that unlike some people who love to sit at conventions and collect fees, BKV is writing and getting his book out on time. I really respect the guy for that. I'm not trying to engage in an argument with you. In fact, I really wish you would just ignore me instead of making snarky comments in response to every single post I make. Why don't you just ignore him? Anyways, I'm excited about this book. Ever since a buddy of mine who's die-hard comic book enthusiast told me about it a couple months ago, he specifically said.."This book is the next big thing, trust me", I don't think he was lying at all. It feels like an epic saga (pun intended), and I enjoy getting immersed in that world while reading those pages. It's also an entirely different shift from the other books I'm reading right now. I hope it's here to stay for the long haul. Movie/TV show or not (most likely not), I hope I can still be consumed in this world 5 years from now.
  14. I guess you didn't read the part where I said "I'm not angry at the sellers, I'm angry at the buyers". Edit: And yes, I did look at the auctions. The one with 13 bids had the majority of the bids up to $150 then it jumped to $250, that person who did the jump didn't win it, but ultimately won another for that price. Of the 6 I was able to see completed there are only 3 sellers. I can't see who won the BIN's so I can't fantasize about those. And again, I said "a part of me", I'm not throwing out accusations and holding them to it, it's just a simple subconcious thought that ran through my head. I'm allowed those ya know, especially when it comes to 100% honest sites such as eBay.
  15. At this point its cheaper to buy a plane ticket to CA and purchase a ticket to participate in the run Slight exaggeration. But seriously, it pains me to see people paying that much for them, that just means that's what the going rate will be now. Another part of me feels like the sellers of those auctions shill bid with their friends to essentially make the price (since they were first to list, they pretty much set the tone). Im not saying thats whats going on but a part of me believes it as a possibility. The whole thing makes me angry. I'm not angry at the sellers, I'm angry at the buyers. Oooh what stupid people with lots of money do...
  16. I cant wait for that sunday night when the episode airs and all of the viewers get to finally see her in action... The book is going to EXPLODE on ebay. Im excited to see how it pans out. Ill be trolling ebay after the episode airs for sure.
  17. WD #19 still going strong. Auction right now for a G/VG with 9 bids up to $161.
  18. *throws hands up in the air and makes funny face at camera
  19. I should have been more specific. People are getting bent our of shape not here, but a different website I frequent (reddit), people are kicking and screaming, one even went as far as to say hes not gonna watch season 3 if the governor looks like that.. Im like wtf?! Some people are
  20. Ask him to sign #66? Just kidding that'd be mean. Ask him to do a sketch Edut: I wanted to celebrate my 100th post but I missed it. I was hoping to have 12 different posts for it so I could be like the comic series.
  21. You keep saying how the books are at their peak and dropping now rapidly (which they are), but in willing to bet my entire collection that once season 3 starts all this madness will pick right back up again and prices will indeed surge once again. You don't know how many people I talk to who are just now getting into the show and comic (right now, during the off season). I bet the viewer count for season 3 will be more than the previous two seasons, in fact im sure of that. I've never heard someone saying the watched it then stopped, its the opposite, more and more people are just getting into it. No doubt in my mind come October you'll be able to sell your #19s for what they were going for during the recent pop if not more ($800+).
