  1. Omg. A buddy in London told me about that show. If you think the Jersey Shore cast is ridiculous, they have nothing on the Geordie Shore cast.
  2. While we're on the topic of tv shows, my all-time favorite was Rescue Me. Probably the most underrated show in years, got barely ANY attention, and had the most gripping storylines for an amazing 7 seasons. Wish it was still on Anyway, so I contacted two of the buyers who left positive feedback for the "walking dead lotto" auction and asked what books they got. I'll update once they reply.
  3. At least your LCS still has them. Called 6 stores in the south Florida area and all sold out.
  4. I just read all the rules and no mention of any violation due to talking about gift card exchanging. Uh oh! Maybe this post will be deleted, let's see. Gift card exchange Gift card exchange Gift card exchange Gift card exchange
  5. This thing is skyrocketing. It's quite easy to see too, every single day the price goes up on eBay. Last week you could get the 1:10 for $10-15, today it's no less than $25. Time to buy every copy I can get my hands on assuming my LCSs didn't already sell their entire stock to other boardies who are already doing the same
  6. I got the regular cover from 3 different sources. All 3 have had a slight problem. The one from my lcs was not flat when laying flat (if that makes sense), one from ebay had a bum corner where the entire corner and all the pages were bent completely (though no color breaking), and another from midtown with the same problem as the latter yet a different corner. Was there a bad shipment of these by chance?
  7. Weren't those in the copper/modern sales forum? i think you're right, but i can't find pics anymore. a friend has one, and is gonna get it signed. i wanted to show him how good it looks using blue ink for the sigs. Yeah the blue is the best I have seen but in my personal opinion that book doesn't present well with sigs as where else can you sign it other than on top of that great illustration? Just my own preferences of course. Blue ink signed copy (was jjeanius) http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5864593&fpart=1 Ebas has that same preference, he refuses to sign anywhere over his art that isn't an empty space.
  8. There aren't any, if so it's not intentional. Typically, those who feel they MUST find a connection will stretch things out until they make that connection. The walking dead is about survival for yourself and those closest to you; survival of the fittest. Neither of which is what Jesus tried to teach his disciples in the Gospel for example. I mean its not like you can 'save' a zombie, right? There are no christian connections to the WD Jerome Just another case of some group trying to align themselves with pop culture. Not when every other scene is shot in a church, and every 3rd line is about God, faith, belief, and some of the more weighted scenes (think Maggie and Glenn) are about faith and God. If not directly to do with Christianity, there is definitely a push for a religious element on the show. Re-watch some episodes and you will be surprised at how many references you see now that someone pointed it out.. While I've noticed this, I just chalked it up to them being in the South, which is a pretty religious area, and they were just aligning the story with their surroundings. I've never thought of it anything more than that, or them having an agenda at all. Who knows...
  9. I think I see what you're saying regarding integrity. Pretty interesting stuff. I couldn't differentiate between the spine cracking vs. a spine tick. Which a spine tick we know (if enough of them/deep enough) definitely affects grade. I'll go ahead and submit this then, I was pretty set on it getting < 9.0 For what its worth, aside from what you see in the picture, the rest of the book is a beauty.
  10. Pretty much what I thought too. But this will be the second time I hear that for some reason CGC goes easy on spines with the edge rubbed off/cracked.
  11. So you're telling me I still have a chance submitting this? Edit, image really big, was breaking the board. WD #4 spine rubbed off The spine has the color broken from top to bottom (note that the seller specifically said the spines were flawless )
  12. This is the 2nd time in recent posts where you never closed a parenthesis, it bothers me and makes it hard to read and understand where certain context ends. Sorry, not trying to give you a hard time, just saying With that said, yes, the grading is subjective and I'll stand by that statement till the day I die. I'd post a recent issue I just got back and will swear that every single one of you would grade it a 9.0-9.2 and yet it got a 9.6 (I don't even know why I subbed it). I also submitted a book that looked better than many 9.8s I've seen and it got a 9.6. When the line is so fine within their guidelines, whatever they may be, after that it all depends on the graders focus and mood.
  13. I'm in. I'm serious. I've been talking with another boardie (somewhat jokingly) how it's very subjective when it comes to grading. If they're in a good mood, you'll get a 9.8 on that comic that's really a 9.6. Or the other way around. I got a 9.6 that I know for a fact looks better than other 9.8's I've seen, and really wanna crack it open and resubmit it, and video tape it coming back as a higher grade without touching it after cracking it open. I'm this close to doing it too....
  14. See this is what I was referring to in another post. I saw someone selling a 9.8 comic here in the sales forum (won't mention who or what), but it had a NASTY spine abrasion, just like yours, but bigger at the top left corner. It was such an eyesore that I wouldn't even want it, regardless that it was graded a 9.8. I was arguing with someone who was telling me "all 9.8's are the same", I'm like, "ummm...no they're not...". This is proof. And btw, I'd still take your "worse 9.8 on record" off your hands any day Oh, and this gives me hope that my #50 Superhero variant that has the EXACT same problem on it can in fact possibly get a 9.8 (assuming the grader got laid the night before like yours did)
  15. A 9.6? Heck yea I'd throw it away if I were you! I wouldn't even wanna be seen with a piece of garbage like that, how embarassing.... I'll take it off your hands and burn it for you, I'll send you my address.
  16. . Sellinghopf is YOU? I've got one copy, plus about 5-6 left at my LCS. probably gonna pick them up now. was it my ebay picture that gave it away? Please direct me to the source of your signature. Its mesmerizing....I must see the entire thing.
  17. Nothing to fear arc ends in #102, correct? Anyone feel the action can remain this high throughout the arc? I know #100 was hyped out of this world, but I hold out hope that something even more extraordinary happens in the next 2 books. Plane trip to NYC! sorry but im really in need for a big change of scenery
  18. +1 I'm dying to know what's going on in Manhattan or Los Angeles!
