  1. I just realized I didn't post this here. I was lucky enough to win the unused cover to ROM SpaceKnight #1 in the last Heritage auction. I had to choose between this, and a page to Moore's Swamp Thing run, but I think it was worth it.
  2. Thanks! I found this also. http://home.hiwaay.net/~lkseitz/comics/Rom/comic/checklist.shtml
  3. Can't remember if I posted in this thread or not, but I have a nice presenting raw 4.5. Looks nice except for the water damage in the back.
  4. 9.8 on Clink went for $10,337, with the 9.6 following at $4,291. A very wide gap, since I thought the 9.6 presented much better, wish I had the funds to have made a run on it myself.
  5. I don't see why not. A lot of people who get these SS books done will also bring their own markers that they want the artist to sign with. You could easily bring the marker you'd prefer, or specify with the SS facilitator if you aren't going yourself.
  6. I noticed that too which seemed very cheap, but wonder if it might of been that auction as a whole since I saw a few things that I thought went below the norm. In contrast another 9.6 just sold at clink today for $11.5k which makes me think its not the market, but just that one auction. The 5.5 went for $2.5k.
  7. Does anybody have any advice on how to store just penciled art, without worrying if it might smear?
  8. From what I heard someone who wouldn't sell.
  9. Interesting. That is quite the team behind it already. Maybe this dog will hunt after all? It makes sense - DC needed an answer to Luke Cage and Black Lightning is a natural choice. Wished they us Static instead. They're both similar power wise, but since Static had an animated show I think it would of been more popular since more people would be familiar with the character.
  10. I think it drew a lot of people, though he was already popular so that should be taken into account so its hard to say how many people who saw the movie were familiar with him to begin with. I look at it more as to who were on the edge already, and decided to take to plunge into comics after seeing the movie, even then though the that number would still be even smaller since not as many people could financially/ mentally spend almost 1k on a comicbook collectible. Even more so for the later reason if they had never collected to begin with. Lets also not forget that even though a lot of people say that they're fan of Deadpool or a comic fan usually translates to mean that they're a pop culture fan which encompasses a lot of things not just comics which we focus on. It did probably draw a segment of the people who say the movie to buy some of the latest issues, and even some trades, but not all of them probably stuck to it, and even less of that group I think would buy a NM98 unless they seriously considered themselves collectors going in, and just a a latest fancy in the hero movie trend.
  11. Wow! A 9.8 in the current Clink auction, and already almost at 2k. Any thoughts on final price? http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAuctions%2Fsearch%2Easp%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dwerewolf%2Bby%2Bnight%26GO%3DGO%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item%5F1127998&id=1127998
  12. - Artist of the titles - Collectors who don't publicly show what they have - People, or family members of them who might of bought a few pages, and the occasional whole book in the 90's, as a collecting faze that might not even remember they have it, or know what it even is.
  13. Manley put a few of those pieces up on ebay last year, and does so periodically. I was able to get this DPS from him some months back.
  14. To add some substance to this thread bump, here is some interesting info about the females in the Conan universe, published in "The Savage Sword of Conan" #1. The most interesting be that Red Sonja as we know her was not apart of it until Marvel.
  15. Wow, this thread has been dead for some time.
  16. Amazing some people have 20, and I have 0. I was really tempted a few weeks ago when a saw a respected LCS in my area have a raw that they put at VF/VF+ with a firm price of $1350. I was really close to getting it, but held firm since I saw something I wanted more online. I'm glad I did since I ended up winning it, and needed that 1350 to do it.
  17. Do you find that the series kinda loses its way after the final battle with the dire wraiths in # 65? I seem to remember the series just kinda wandering along for those last 10 issues, with little focus. I'm doing spoilers in case anybody hasn't read it yet.
  18. Got my copy in the mail today.Very impressed by Bob Storms since I only bought it yesterday.
  19. I've rereading the ROM series, and am almost done. Up to #68, and the last annual, and noticed that Brandy was a very inconsiderate character to the people around her. She didn't even hide the fact that she loved ROM when in front of people, and didn't even have the decency to tell Rick their relationship was over, always stringing him along. Even after she confesses her love for ROM she still was technically Rick's fiance. Even after she becomes the new Starshine she still references Rick as her fiance even though its clear that she was never going to marry him, and was with ROM which always made me feel sorry for him. It made it really weird that she then moves her attractions almost in a 180 to someone else after the big final battle with the Wraiths. I know they show her being said that ROM left, and saying she'll always love him, but in just the previous issue they show here being infatuated with Rick Jones in front of ROM, which made no sense since they had been writing her loving ROM since the beginning of the issue. On a side not when Ditko drew the issues with the final battle, and all the Earth's hero's did he intentionally leave out some characters like Spiderman, because I noticed that he drew other ones like X-Men, and Captain America, but left his own known creations out.
  20. Glad to here, ROM might of had humble beginnings being based on a toy, but has really become a great fleshed out character.
  21. Is this the unofficial ROM #1 club thread now?
