  1. The Unseen 10. Great cover (another one) and would have been a 3.5 or so. Nice and glossy, edges have minor tearing and stressing, spine is stressed and has paper loss. No recent GPA, one sold on eBay advertised as 3.0 for $375. $165
  2. The other plain old low grade book - Strange Mysteries 9. I put this at a 1.5. Front cover ripped in half, paper loss on front cover. Top staple detached. Back cover complete, interior is supple white pages, cf fully attached. And you can still see the skeletons and the bondage babe. $40 SOLD!!!!
  3. Out of the Shadows 11, another incredible cover, and would have been a nice 5.0 or better. Alas. Great gloss, supple White pages, fully attached inside and out. Bottom edge/corners have minor issues, spine is decent. Last sale at 6.0 was $900. $365
  4. Up next are some really amazing books, sucks they have this issue. Out of the Shadows 9, great cover, would have been a solid 4.5 before "the art!" Glossy, firmly attached throughout, supple cream/off white pages, lays flat as a board. Crease upper right corner, spine has wear/paper loss, roughness on bottom and right edges. Also presents nicely. A 4.5 is pending on CL for about $700, no GPA sales data. $325
  5. This is one of those boring, just plain old lower grade books - Black Cat Mystery 39. about a 3.0 - spine roll, paper loss on witches eyes (you don't want her looking at you anyway!), roughness at top of front cover and bottom of back cover (overhang from spine roll), and general wear. Interior supple White pages, solidly attached throughout. 4.5 sold recently for $280. $100
  6. Next, Adventures into Darkness 12, would have been a 4.5-5.0. Also has Toth art, lingerie and impaling panels! Again, pencil instead of crayon inside front cover. Presents really nicely! $230
  7. First up, in alphabetical order, is Adventures into Darkness 11. Would have been a solid 4.0 VG without defacement (and the defacement on the back of the cover is pencil, not crayon). Solid attached cover, interior pages are supple white, cf firmly attached. Check scans for font and back cover issues (only thing that is hard to see is a rip on cover in the bottom left corner of soot/bones in the furnace). $150 SOLD!!!
  8. Before I start with the usual Pre-amble about rules (We the people, etc. . . ) I have to explain the issue the majority of these books have, that being, to wit, they were used for tracing. Meaning, the back of either the entire front cover, or a portion thereof, was rubbed with pencil, and then a piece of paper was inserted between the back of the front cover and the first page, and then (as if this wasn't enough abuse) the genius kid owner of these books then took a pencil and pressed hard whilst, and at the same time, carefully tracing the lines of the images on the front cover. Thus simultaneously showing his good taste in images, making a copy of said images, and (most important for us later folks) ruining the grade of the comic. Well, I wouldn't say completely ruining the comic - it isn't that noticeable on the front cover, but it is a technically bad thing in terms of grading etc. And the pencil all over the back of the front cover isn't so great either. That said, I am taking between 2-3 grades off (depending on what I thought the original grade without this horrific art project, and how much of the cover was used for these nefarious purposes), but none will be judged to be less than an 1.8. These present really well, and I am attaching pictures of the cover at an angle so you can see (if possible) the pencil, as well as a picture of the inside of the back cover. And there are 2 books that are just plain old low grade books. OK! Enough with that. First on the thread wins, PMs welcome but any agreement on a PM isn't official until an or on the actual thread for all to see (this implies that I do listen to offers). NO HOS or problem children. US Shipping on any book above $100 is free, and I combine to get there (in other words, buy any combination of lower value books, if at final check out you owe me more than $100, I won't charge shipping). $4 shipping otherwise. Foreign shipping to be determined by what you buy and where you are. I will accept input on these grades and/or defects as I've never seen this before. Enoy!
  9. So I bought a few books and when they arrived I noticed that a few of them were used in an odd way by the original owner (no, not that way you perv!!!). The kid rubbed black crayon on the back of the cover and then (I assume) put a blank piece of paper behind the cover and pushed down hard with a pencil, tracing the outlines of some of the figures on the covers - basically making a home-made transfer of the image. That leaves these comics in nice, but strangely abused, shape. I am attaching an image of the front and inside of the front of the cover for your viewing pleasure and examination. The question is - can this be remedied by cleaning and pressing? Would it involve "restoration"? Would it be worthwhile to do? Thanks in advance for everyone's input.
  10. Stunning book, and stunning take! Props to everyone!
  11. Strange Adventures 17. Beautiful book except for small chip upper right corner and top staple is pulled (argh!!!). Early Captain Comet story. $125.
  12. Terrifying Tales 15. Also has a detached cover, but also has a spine roll. Great LB Cole cover (not as nice as the previous one, IMHO). $100
  13. Terrors of the Jungle 6, detached cover. Presents great, and I love this cover (not sure why . . .). $100
  14. Patsy and Hedy 5, 3.0. Rough spine, otherwise a decent book. Also not much to go on with pricing. $45.
  15. My Girl Pearl 7 (1960). Nice 4.5-5.0 book. Not much to go on with pricing but $50 seems fair.
  16. Kid Colt Outlaw group - 18, 64, and 69. All lower grade/readers complete and attached but with water staining, rips, spine rolls, etc. 18 is the nicest of the bunch. $25
  17. The Beyond 11, 2.0. Looks decent enough, but 1.5" spine split at top, long rip from top to almost statues shoulder and through his face, and some puncture rips in the N. otherwise everything attached and interior pages have great color. Storage bend and spine roll (would press our easily). $45
  18. My Friend Irma 3 (1st issue). Missing cf, otherwise a nice copy with rough spine and nice supple pages. Not very common! $100
  19. I'll start off strong! Dogface Dooley 1, 4.0 - 4.5, $300. Last sale was 5.0 for $408. This is a really nice book, just that lower right corner is a mess, and top edge has some chipping/holes (above the "Dog" in Dogface Dooley, the Wacky Warrior). Spine is beautiful, nice interior pages and everything tight. Oh, and lots of dresses getting "accidentally" ripped off.
  20. Usual rules: no bad people. if you say you're gonna buy it, pay up. PM'd offers always listened to. Shipping $4 no matter how many books you buy. Returns only if there is a major defect I missed (missing cf, coupons cut, etc.) I'll leave these up until Monday, Oct. 22nd at around 10 PM. Should give you plenty of time to sell other things (cars, kids, pets, old stamps) to buy these! Happy hunting!
