  1. I'll try to get back on topic . . . You didn't specify what the business is (eBay store, Convention stand, brick and mortar location, . . .) but . . . Having gone through a divorce my first advice is don't put a value on hurt. By that I mean whatever bad feelings you have, whatever pain you feel, do not think that gives you the right to a certain amount of money. Both sides usually do this and it makes the divorce more complicated and the only ones who make more money off of these fights are the lawyers. Money is money, and its almost always a calculation. Approach the money aspect that way and you'll end up with more (because you won't be paying the lawyers to fight over it). Child support is the only difficult area that might arise in a situation like this (again, we don't know exactly what the business is - is it your only source of income, is it a side business?). If the business is the only or main source of income, then it will pay to fight a little (again, money is always a calculation - its a business decision) to make sure the income - which is what child support is based on - is realistic and that the kids will have food and clothing. Any business is valued on its income (usually sold at a multiple of its income) so depending on what your take was each year, which hopefully you have some idea of what it was, then 2-4 times that would be the "value" of the business (depends on the going rate for collectible businesses and what the profit margins are - you can sit down with a business broker who can give you a basic idea of how it would be valued for a sale). If you have a viable business, but there is (or you suspect there is) a high value of inventory that has accumulated over the years, then you would do a separate valuation for the inventory - figure out basically what is your core transactions (are you selling weekly issues, new books as they are published or toys as they are released) and then take the inventory that has built up (all those back issues and old collections you bought but never had time to price and put up for sale) and evaluate that separately. Since they are somewhat entwined you can't use exact valuations for either aspect of the business, so I'd get a basic number for both, and then discount a certain amount to cover the overlap (old items you do sell as part of the business as you can). As for figuring out what the actual inventory is, you just have to get access to wherever the items have been, or may be, stored. During a divorce there is always the possibility he has removed some items to a different location in the hope they won't be considered in the final valuation. If you want more advice or thoughts from someone who went through a divorce, I'm available. Good luck.

  6. Final book for this thread: Amazing Spider-man 45 CGC 9.2 OWtW pages. 3rd appearance of the Lizard (for those who are counting). Last GPA sale w/same pq was $350, so I'll ask $350 as well.
  7. Amazing Spider-man 35 CGC 9.4 OWtW pages. 2nd Molten Man. GPA last sale was $1,250 with W Pages, but its been trending up (and its a Spidey), so I'll ask $1,200.
  8. Amazing Spider-man 24 CGC 9.2 CtOW pages. Ditko again. GPA average from 2 years ago (no sales since) was $801, but just got word that this book has had some extra-GPA (i.e. unreported) high dollar sales. I'm not sure why yet, but I think I'll ask $1,600 for now . . .
  9. Now, a group of ASM - starting with . . . Amazing Spider-man 21 CGC 9.4 OWtW pages. Ditko (natch). Human Torch and the Beetle appearances. GPA has $1,800, but all the available books are asking over $2,200, so I'm going to be nice and ask $2,000.
  10. Next, Daredevil 6 CGC 9.4 OWtW pages. Wally Wood Cover and Art. Origin and 1st Mr. Fear. GPA one sold last year for $1,030. I'm asking a cool $1,000. OBO, of course.
  11. First up, Tales of Suspense 86 CGC 9.6 OWtW pages. Beautiful copy. No sales on GPA for a while, and nothing close to it either. 23 at 9.6, 10 higher. Not really rare, but very nice and not so common in this grade. Asking $550 OBO.
  12. Usual Rules apply If you can't say anything nice, PM it to me! No HOS or other problem children. If you like what you buy, or have bought from me before and want to be nice and appreciative, please leave feedback https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=redirect&url=https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/437431-qua-brot-kudos-forum/&key=1a1789bb0a77cf68248294e5463d4842822acff2b9df62c2596ccf996043aa30&resource= Some of these I've had a little while, some just got back from CGC, but all are 9.2-9.6 Silver Age beauties! One last thing - ending Thursday, Sept. 6th, at Midnight EST.
  13. Last one for today, and also a nice Key book Showcase 37, first Metal Men - also hard to grade for same reason as the Strange Tales 89. This book was abused with a stick. Not as much as ST 89, but took a beating. Otherwise everything there and attached. Not sure how to grade this either, but I'll ask $30. SOLD!!!
  14. Here is the biggest Key of this group! Strange Tales 89! I don't even know how to grade this sucker - complete and nicely attached, but someone beat it. I mean took a stick and beat it. Multiple tear marks through the entire book from when someone took a stick and hit the book ripping all the way through. I tried to take pictures to show what it looks like. Its all there . . . I've sold rough copies for crazy numbers, so I am going to ask $200, but open to offers . . . SOLD!!!
  15. Back to some Marvel/Atlas! Tales of Suspense 3! 1.5 with fully attached but rough spine, detached cf (book IS complete), and roughness around the edges, with nice gloss on the cover itself. A CGC 3.0 sold recently for $170, so I'll ask a pleasant $75 SOLD!!!
  16. Again, not Marvel, but an almost Key Showcase 12 (4th Challengers of the Unknown and super early Silver Age book), low grade with chipping and water damage and dirt and chunk out of back cover . . . 1.0+? Kirby art!!! $30 SOLD!!!
