  1. To confirm cause I just realized I'm not sure: are the comic connect auctions that have a buyers premium fee reflected on GPA with or without the additional 15%?
  2. 9.8 grades ARE NOT PERFECT and do have defects. Likewise, some books will allow for spine ticks if they are a known common manufacturing issue (not saying it is the case for all books, some questionable grades come up often). This tick looks fine for a 9.8 book, and is nowhere near the car-crash of a mistake I see others posting (books with blunted corners, multiple creases, chips etc...)
  3. Reposting this cause I keep getting asked about it online for nice full picture. Here is a non-photo picture of my World's Finest #3 replacement cover which 'fixes' the issue of Scarecrow not appearing on the cover (though note due to jpeg compression and the forum further compressing the art you won't correctly see all the ben day process dots). Pencils by comic artist Tom Martin, everything else by me (colors/titles, some extra inking over the original etc)
  4. You know what I'm now hoping for (which is 100% never happening)...That the Tobey Maguire appearance is in fact a framing story, we find that Spider-Man is sitting in a hospital visiting a kid who got hurt in an accident and is telling them a fantastical story (ala Princess Bride). When he tries telling him about his own adventures (perhaps starts with a Vulture story) the kid interrupts and says 'No, I want a SPOOKY character! Vulture is a lame bird!'. So Spider-Man makes up this story about a vampire (and inserts Vulture at one point, to which the kid blurts out to him "HEY! This isn't a Vulture story! Get back to the scary stuff!!!" "Sigh, FINE - you kids these days don't have any appreciation for the CLASSIC villains!")
  5. Even those have better budget than what went into this poster - using the default Photoshop texturizer filter as well as one of the default basic Artistic filters (which are fine when you use them as a subtle addition to a design, not when its the only thing you apply to the art at maximum settings)...they might as well just threw in a hard drop shadow and lens flair while they were at it
  6. The levels are worse in the CLINK one, they didn't correct to the proper white exposure (which you can do using the white in the grade number box), which just screams lazy to me when dealing with such a big key book.
  7. Oscar Isaac confirmed that Moon Knight is gonna be Jewish in his show, which is something that never was explicitly addressed (and much of the news that was passed around hinted at this aspect of his character being dropped outright so it is great to have confirmation)
  8. That featurette actually got me more excited for the show than any of the trailers ever did. The hype intensifies!
  9. This is bonkers, just looking at a quick glance on the ebay sold I can see the following pages (Prices in Canadian) Cover: $11,000 Page 1: $4,500 Page 2: $2,700 Page 3: $5,000 Page 4: $2,800 Page 5: $2,900 Page 6: $4,200 Page 7: $650 Page 14: $440 Page 15: $550 Centerfold: $2,200 Cutting up a 0.5 book, even a restored one (my friend has a signature series 0.5 restored copy that looks better than this cover and he is having trouble evaluating its FMV still), would already sell for around $37,000 Canadian (around $28k USD) just for around 14 of the interior pages and cover (plus whatever else the other pages can bring in, at least another grand or so)
  10. How are they not marketing this as "a film with with a little Hart and a big Johnson"?
  11. Yeah I don't put much stock in the interviews showing the 'true nature' of any celebrity, just that it makes reflecting on it a little different now in hindsight Regardless of instigation, if one becomes violent when drunk, the only responsible course of action is to not become drunk. Glassing someone is also supremely crappy behaviour and beyond just a pub brawl and is the reason I am hesitant to think this is a one-off event (especially with what he was apparently yelling). If you are in your 40s you should know how to handle your alcohol by now and is a standard I hold everybody to, celebrities and star-struck fans alike.
  12. Lots of reasons, off the top of my head I know that personally wait staff typically leave before the back staff close up for the night, it isn't uncommon for my bartender or line cook friends (the cook being in Mexico, so it has gotten rough at his place) to be the ones who have had to usher out 'late' staying guests who are now holding up the closing of the entire venue (either regulars who have earned the chance to stay, or celebrity guests who are afforded the extra time after the public is made to leave). It's true we don't know the fulls story but you phrased it as it being the cooks fault, when in this case we have a man who has pled guilty of assault. He smashed a bottle on someones face. Antony is a violent drunk - full stop. That's what we call people his age that get drunk and start bar fights with an employee less than half his age when asked to leave. Guess how many people my drunk butt has assaulted with a smashed bottle when asked to leave a bar...zero. Related though, this incident did make me recall the time that during a Boys interview (I recall during season 1) he was unanimously pointed to by the rest of the cast when they were all asked "Who acts the most like their character in real life?" - Even joking you could tell there might be some truth to that to have all the cast pick him, and this event now has me think of that interview in a whole new light.
  13. Why are we assuming it was the victims fault they were assaulted?
  14. I'll be honest, since it is clear most studios don't have much respect for audience intelligence if this hero/villian dynamic was true they would have given Mr Knight RED glowing eyes so nobody would be confused about 'who bad man?'
  15. I would recommend anyone not base any strong opinions on a celebrity from their other media appearances, they have PR teams for a reason - even for casual stuff like YouTube - to vet such things, and has been the case to put on a difference face for the public going back to the golden age (Oliver Hardy was a jolly guy in the public eye, but we all know now what kind of person he was, or even Mel Gibson..or..etc). People get attached to an 'idea' of what a celebrity is without actually knowing em, and will often defend them based on this imaginary construct (people saying 'he was such a nice guy' is the most common refrain of those faced with abuse allegations. If we had a nickel for every time we heard that, well...). Not saying that is the case with you though or calling you out for anything, I'm just commenting on the general response most fans give when a favourite of theirs ends up doing something awful.
  16. Some new random promotional art has appeared. Not really anything new, but offers some clear shots and insight into how they are marketing him.
  17. No worries, I don't take 99.99% of posts here as advocating wild stuff I get having that itch to scratch, I get it all the time and in fact have found a solution for VHS. I buy these, which means I not only save money but also save an epic amount of space I'm currently having made displays for Star Trek: Wrath of Khan, Home Alone, Uncle Buck, Point Break, and Labrynth (They make excellent gifts for friends once I know which movies they are nostalgic for) https://www.instagram.com/p/CafKR3iLMnQ/
  18. See, this is why nobody takes graded VHS collecting seriously...if these prices were legit we would see amounts like that (or at least close to it) being realized naturally from auctions - except all we see are them being listed at high buy-it-now prices with zero market history to rationalize the price. Also, when it comes to vintage versions, I much prefer the Super 8 version of ESB. Not from a quality standpoint (because it's very bad) but rather it being an excellent example of editing down a 2 hour movie into thirty minutes without loosing the major plot points and pacing (which they overall succeeded int, albeit with one glaring cut near the end).
  19. Same suit, just looks like somebody put it through an HDR filter and slapped on way more grit
  20. Korean promotional: Edit: I've been told that the hieroglyphics on his leg say: "If you're reading this, you're too close" (obviously is just Google 1to1 translation a graphic designer tried to translate. Looking to confirm this) edit 2: Seems other promotions are saying this translation of hieroglyph on his suit say "Rise and Live Again As My Fist of Vengence. My Moon Knight"
  21. Ah yes, the last thing you see before a prostate exam begins.
