Fantastic Four from Fox Studios (8/7/15)
Wall-Crawler replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I'm usually a "wait and see" how it turns out before I pass judgement but every time I hear anything about this movie it makes me want to And what does this even mean... In regards to how Victor Domashev fits into the overall picture, Kebbell explained, “Yeah, it was cool man. Josh, the whole deal, the lo-fi way he did it, the ultra-real. It was just nice to do that. It was nice to be feeling like we had to come to terms with what was given by this incident.” Yes, because the FF are "lo-fi" and "ultra real" - What made the Fantastic Four work, to me as a casual fan of the FF, was/is in enjoying the unreal/fantastic elements...I'm just waiting for one of them to say it is "dark and gritty"... -

Has anyone dealt with Sparkle City Comics?
Wall-Crawler replied to andyconlan's topic in Comics General
I was looking at their most recent auction. They have some great stuff but on can this really be considered a VF/High Grade? This one is going to end soon and check out the back cover scan... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fantastic-Four-36-VF-HIGH-GRADE-1st-Madam-Medusa-INHUMANS-Silver-Age-/381038440378?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item58b7a92fba -

Wall-Crawler replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Also, did not most of these come as a result of an "investors meeting? What a way to roll out your film announcements of finally getting DC heroes to the big screen... -

Best book of the lot though...1st appearance of H.E.R.B.I.E - Just wait till he appears as a flying camcorder in the new FF movie and that books will EXPLODE! Oh yeah, nice score! -

Marvel FOX will probably never put the Galactus on-screen we know from the comics. Kirby's original concept of the character was that he was a big space monster a la Fin Fang Foom, but Lee thought that would be hard for people to identify with, so he asked Kirby to make him a giant humanoid. A giant humanoid would look rather dumb on the big screen though and that's why we never saw Galactus in that second film. Odds are we'll never see him. it could be done, you just never show the full character. Glimpses, parts like a giant hand only or his glowing eyes. Check this out: There is absolutely ZERO reason why they could not have Galactus appear on-screen as he looks in the comics. The above pics demonstrate Big G could look so bad- on the big screen. ...I mean, for gosh sakes, if a talking freaking raccoon who is a munitions expert and walking kick- tree can be accepted by the mainstream movie going public, how the heck could a world devouring Galactus not be? They can do it, they choose not to due to stupid logic. -

Thanks everyone! Yes, it was a very random box of stuff and then a nearly complete run of Iron Fist was just awesome. Awesome but weird lot. I had never heard of Peter the Little Pest before either. One site referred to him as the "evil twin of Dennis the Menace". Looks like this only went for 4 issues. I think it would be an interesting story to how that signed Stan Lee book found its way to my neck of the woods. I'm checking out another collection of about 300 books tomorrow after work so I am hoping for more horseshoes. -

About two-three weeks ago I found that Merry Marvel Marching Society button and last week I picked this up. Bought a bunch of comics and there were stored in this... Not looking good... Oh-Oh... Better...Unfortunately, most of the Nick Fury's are ROUGH. Getting better... A few random goodies... And finally, happiness! Also, along with those graphic novels, this was at the bottom. I posted this earlier in the unverified sig thread that was going. Best of Spidey TPB from 1986 and yep, it is signed! Looks authentic to me! This book immediately went onto my book shelf. -
I don't think I ever got this That's becuase its sitting in my office. It's boxed, which is stage one. Stage two will be when I get my lazy azz to the PO. Comicalgems, I got one of my first PIF's from Mikenyc I believe, so trust the man, it may take awhile but he delivers on the goods! (thumbs u

So, if I had some books subbed economy tier shortly after SDCC (was getting a few things signed there), I might have them by Christmas?

I have not looked here since I received my strike and comment for my last junk offer so seeing one book from my previous offer posted takes some of that "strike sting" away. I am not sure what the solution is but I tell ya, being someone who was interested and took the thread seriously, it sucks getting a strike and being lumped in with what may have been legitimately disingenuous offers. Again, not sure what, if any solution is, but it does leave a bad feeling. I think the sure fire way though to make sure your offer gets taken is to commission some OA from KAV.

Just saw the new Captain America, The Winter Soldier
Wall-Crawler replied to HOTFLIPS's topic in The Movie Forum
Because he was found and recognized as the accomplice of Captain America. He isn't just some dude, and what could be better than using this weapon against your enemy? It was also explained in the movie (briefly) that the experiments that the Skull and Zola were performing on Bucky helped him to survive the fall. I don't know how per se but they did reference back to the experimentation that was being done on Bucky post train scene. -
I picked up this drek in a off-board trade.

Well, as the recipient of a strike, Kystix still came through and sent me the offer I claimed. They were shipped very well and I even got a few bonus Teen Titan books, but no 1st Deathstroke Anyway, here are the two fantastic slabs in question! THANKS AGAIN KYSTIX

Thanks Chip! I am very pleased with it too. It is nice to "belong" somewhere. Ditto on the coolness of the pin - hard to overpay at $10. Yah, that is what I figured. My wife use to work in the antique business up until a few months ago and she is the one who knows how to haggle so she gave me some pointers on this one. For those who care, here is the front and the back... -

I go antiquing with the wife from time to time. Once in awhile I find a little something something. This was one of those times. Haunt of Horror #5 - I have always really liked this cover (complete) Iron Man #12 -1st Controller (complete) Showcase Presents #66 - 1st B'wana Beast (complete) - Not high grade, but again, I love the cover! Strange Adventures #205 - 1st Deadman (incomplete, missing 1st page) I picked up ALL of these books from one dealer for $18.00 - I think I did ok. However, the real thing I am MOST happy about is this... Dealer wanted $35, I got it for $10. I have no idea of how much it is really worth and don't care if I overpaid, but I have always wanted something like this. this could be the start of a new focus, to track down more MMMS goodies.
