  1. What's a fair price for a Crow face sketch in pencil/marker, roughly 4" x 7"?
  2. Prestige format is when the comic/book is bound more like a trade paperback. No staples; pages glued together with a thick spine.
  3. Did they know what they had? Edited my original post -- one of the copies is the Berger variant (the one w/o a price tag). Yes, they knew what it was, but was still reasonably priced. It was even included in their Black Friday sale. Nice buy. That's a tough one. What's the grade? I'm thinking 9.2-ish. Will know CGC's opinion in a few months.

  5. Went to the coast for Thanksgiving and found some time to visit local stores. There is the whole Hush run, with the 608 2nd Print and the Sandman #8 in the middle is the Berger variant.
  6. Though I worded it poorly, what I was originally trying to ask was: Instead of paying $1,500 to "lose" $300, why not just pay $300 directly to the dealer and not be out that larger amount? Or $200?
  7. Total price $1,500. I'm probably looking at a $600 loss but was expecting maybe half that. So $300 unexpected loss? So you spent $1,500 for $1,200 worth of books (at least what you initially thought) for a "free" dealer pass? To be fair, depending on the kind of junk he buys, he could make that back several times over by getting in early and diving in with the other sharks I always just help whoever got me a free pass with the load in / load out and if they need my help at the booth for anything. I didn't know I could buy my way in Yes, the "first to dive" is definitely a huge plus at any show (and I was lucky enough to do that earlier this year at a large show). I just wasn't sure of the "unspoken rules" around paying back the dealer. Is helping unload good enough? Helping at the booth -- for how long? You can also buy comics, but would $500 (for $400 of comics, per se) been good, too, or is over $1k expected?

  9. Isn't the MGN #4 the Canadian version, too?

  11. Less than a month for a modern sub? Sounds too good to be true. And these are pre-screens on top of that? How many comics in each batch?
  12. No point in arguing something no one here can prove; we can just make guesses. My feeling is an accident; others may feel otherwise. However, until such a thing can be proven, I don't think we can go around calling every high dollar sale that looks a little off a "shill" sale/seller. I can't get a direct link to the item w/in the site, but go to watchcount.com and put in the relisted item number: 272036219715. Up for 24 seconds; though there were 6 views in that time. Again, all speculation as to what really happened.
  13. No one said that, He "sold" the comic, then relisted it 2 days later. That's the shill-y part Yes; 2 days later the same listing went up for the same comic that sold as a Best Offer. However, as I stated earlier, that relisting was only up for 24 seconds. What was the point of that? Yes it was relisted, but it's not up there now; not available for sale. I think (yes, think, as no one knows what really happened) that the seller accidentally hit relist on a sold item then quickly took it down.
  14. The seller has 100% positive feedback for the past 12 months. I'm leaning toward the seller being lazy by using the same listing for two of the same books. But there's really no way to know for sure, bummer. Jerome same serial number, and I posted a link earlier, he bought it a month and a half ago from a guy in england for almost half the shill price. Maybe I'm not following, but a person can't buy a comic from England then sell it for more money 2 months later?
  15. The seller has 100% positive feedback for the past 12 months. I'm leaning toward the seller being lazy by using the same listing for two of the same books. But there's really no way to know for sure, bummer. Jerome As long as we are admitting we are just guessing at this point, my money is on the seller accidentally relisting a sold book. He/she took it down in less than 30 seconds; that seems pretty fast for someone to see it, message the seller, have the seller see the message, and take the listing down. It also speaks to the reason -- error in listing -- rather than it being sold (and using the "item no longer available" reason).
  16. And the time between listing and ending the item on 11/3 was 24 seconds. Make of that what you will.
  17. Completed Sales A completed BO sale on 11/1; then the same comic being listed and ended 2 days later.
  18. I know I'm late to the party, but if anyone happens to have an abundance of Midtown signed copies they picked up for $3, PM me. Looking for one for my collection.
  19. Just about everyone has had this same issue with MHC and media price increases.
  20. Definitely the attitude I look for when determining where to buy my comics (or anything) from. It's not attitude (although I see how you can read it as such). It's examining the issue as of right now, not 30+ days ago. The buyer really has two realistic options: 1) wait for his purchase or 2) request a refund. If there are other options, then please fill me in as I'm unaware of them? I am not excusing anyone for the long delay in shipping. 95% of the time I ship next day b/c frankly, its the right thing to do. But I ask: what else can the buyer do? And sorry to disappoint, but there's no attitude involved in that statement whatsoever. True, the buyer does not have a lot of options; but this is not about the buyer. The seller, however, has many options and chose one of the slowest, cheapest ways possible to ship an item 30+ days after he was paid for it. And your post "appears" (I don't want to read into things here) to be cool with that.
