  2. I used to do the same thing but people are buying very deep into 1st appearances of low level characters. I'd be surprised if anything sneaks up on anybody these days. Lots of websites dedicated to strictly speculating...which I like to do too. The thing that surprises me is that we are falling back into "cover" speculation as opposed to buying into the storytellers. This isn't the first time it happened and I doubt it will be the last. It is allowing us to buy some great stories cheap. I doubt that will last long either. As my friend Bragnet likes to say, "buy 'em where they ain't". I think your friend spells his name differently...
  3. Some of those faces and displays look awfully familiar. Figure I'll see them on Sunday. Never been to the Burnham show, though have thought about it many times. Thanks for the pics and write-up. Have never seen the dealer with the wooden "wall" display before.
  4. At least the Hughes will be the first to market (possibly). Was that a 9.6 then? Not looking good for my modern subs.
  5. So it went like this? 1. JW: How about $X for book Y? 2. Seller: Yes, I will accept that. some amount of time passes 3. Seller: Never mind; sold elsewhere.
  6. Oh yeah, almost two months old invalidates the sales - I forgot. (says another one of the "I have to have it now" crowd. ) Anything else? Old sales are still valid, but, you know, old. They don't show one where the current market is on a book. Particularly when a book has a lot of sales data over those two months (with additional stock to boot), not just one or two data points.
  7. All 3 of those are from December; it's now February (and almost halfway through). $100 on 12/21/15 J Gallo = $85 on 12/26/15 9.6 = $75 on 12/26/15 I really need to stop investigating your sales links/data...usually cherry-picked listings or listed by highest value first, not most recent sales. Most recent sales of X-Men #4 9.8s (on eBay): $60 on 2/9/16 $60 on 2/5/16 $56 on 1/24/16 $70 on 1/21/16 Anything else?

  9. Looks like the seller helped you out on that one.
  10. when was the last time a movie from an Indy title affected the comics price. An actual movie coming to fruition or the rumor of a movie?
  11. Based on the Events topic seemed like the a lot of heavy hitters were circling this year.
  12. Death? http://www.hitfix.com/harpy/felicity-may-not-be-oracle-but-is-she-death-from-the-sandman-comics
  13. I have a few copies of each (JO 134 + 135; FP 1); sell now or hold?
  14. Yep, the Clarion Hotel show by the Milwaukee airport. There were maybe 7 dealers in a small ballroom but tons of attendees for the size of the room. Nice selection for the size. Same dealers at the Milwaukee Mighty Con or some new ones? Pick up anything else of note? Haven't been to a con in a while (for me); getting antsy for 2/13.
  15. That is amazing And I might add, quite unusual for an underground/indie publication to have a preview with those remarks on the cover regarding print runs and collectability attributions. While I recall the late 80s as being over saturated with S+N editions. I dont recall seing too many previews with those remarks. Whats the size of this book? It's about the size of a paperback novel, obviously not nearly as thick though. Was this one of the epguides shows?
  16. Picked these up recently: Had no idea the Nightmare was Byrne's first (?) work; just thought it had an awesome cover. Are there any other issues in the Kung-Fu and/or Nightmare line to look for? Also had a lot of horror mags like Vampire Tales, Zombie, etc. Anything noteworthy there? They are not high grade; mostly Fine-ish.
