  1. Bobbly Blue collection cleaned and pressed (of course), but also lightened? Potential drama or par for the course?
  2. It will be up for auction again…and again… Yeah. Usually these are taken down before the "auction" ends. Same with the CL 25 listing, the lot of GA comics listing, Contact #12, etc.
  3. 99.99% not a real sale. Strike that; just checked the listing. 100% not real.
  4. A two-fer! A shame about the chips but I don’t think I’m going to be buying (or finding) an upgrade anytime soon.
  5. Now I have to go find my copy... As to PL #17 and Jo-Jo #25, considering these are questioned Baker covers (and some would argue definitively not), they still continue to bring in big money. Is that due to limited buyer knowledge, iconic imagery regardless of artist, other?
  6. I guess I'm a bit out of touch on the Jo-Jo #25; I thought that price was crazy until I looked up recent sales -- seems in-line. Is it definitely a Baker cover?
  7. Understood. I have two copies -- haven't looked at the older one in a bit -- but I'd say mid-grade as well.
  8. That does look like a pretty crazy price. Especially considering there are a few higher grade slabs for that book. It slides look like the buyer left positive feedback. It doesn’t come up for sale all too often, but jeez. That was a lot to pay for that book. The higher grade slabs are for Sale or in the Census?
  9. Enough to know a grade such as VF- exists, yet...
  10. Who is more surprised on this copy of Young Love #49 ? The seller for the auction ending that high, or the buyer when receiving the comic and it's not 7.5 - 8.5 as advertised?
  11. All three! (CCS fees, CGC fees, plus FMV). But it took 8 months of back and forth and non-stop "we'll have our verification team look into it and get back to you"... heard that line about 5-6x in the same thread. They tried to give me the FMV of the books they swapped in for mine that I sent back to them (and not my original FMV I put on the form). Even that was an annoyance.. it really does take persistence and good records to ensure if things go sideways, you have the ammo to get what is promised. Now, I take photos of EVERY BOOK (many boardie's have suggested it, and it's true... do it...), even my run-of-the-mill moderns with lower FMVs. Sure it adds a few minutes of my time, but it saves hours later on if issues crop-up. On one of my other book swaps from an unrelated submission to this one I had no photo proof (one of my earlier subs just before the big pile up of 2021-22 when things switched overnight to 10+month TATs), so they said "sorry, can't do anything about it..." so I was out my $25 raw FMV plus CCS/CGC fees... so if anything, with my moderns I submit it's not even so much about "protecting" the $10-20 raw book now, but about trying to recoup the CCS/CGC costs if/when there are mistakes. .. live and learn... So you were given credit, not actual money, for the FMV of books they lost? I'm hoping these were new, off-the-shelf moderns, or you were given a choice, as being out $1000 of books and receiving $1000 of credit is not the same.
  12. To clarify, did CGC give you credits for the grading of the lost books, or credits for the cost (FMV) of the lost books?
  13. It's not "wastage" if the customer doesn't notice credits are not applied and CGC gets real money instead.
  14. I would say perhaps a little more overall at Fan Expo (based on last year)? Some only do C2E2, others only do Fan Expo, then some overlap.
  15. A lesson that beats me over the head every time I look back on my boxes of unsold books is to sell immediately when any type of news hits.
  16. Thank you. I am by no means a high volume or high dollar seller -- probably a few items a month -- so unsure what their "factors" are (and I'm sure they'll never tell). For the OP @D2, for high-dollar items if experiencing eBay 30-days holds regularly, use MyComicShop. On raws they may grade differently (i.e. lower) than you, but it is usually worth it for the hassle-free experience.
