  1. The buyer can change their mind within 30 days. Never know. Correct, they can, it's called a return and there is a pretty standard flow and operation for returns. eBay, as far as my account is concerned, does not hold my payments for 30 days in case there is a return.
  2. Yes. That’s exactly correct. I sold an item for $1,500 USD, at which point eBay paid themselves 13% of the sale. So the buyer paid, eBay took their fee, and the remainder of the total, now sits in hold for 30 days after payment of the buyer. In the past, to avoid the hold, I’d have to send with tracking (which I always did) but now with signature confirmation (which I would do for anything over 1,000), and eBay added a stipulation that, if positive feedback was also received, then they could approve a ‘next day’ fund transfer. But due to the ‘high priced’ value of this item (I have sold items for higher values before, even in the same annual quarter), they have decided to hold the payment, regardless, for 30 full days. I suspect eBay is holding funds under the shadow of their 30 day eBay guarantee for buyers to open a dispute, even after giving positive feedback, they can’t justify sending me the buyer’s funds. Even though, I’ve had my eBay account for 8 years, my score is 434, with zero negative feedback, ever. I’m also not a high volume seller. I sell maybe $10k-$20k a year. I probably buy maybe $10k a year Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on here as this is not how my eBay funds are handled. Example: I sold an item on eBay for $2200; buyer paid July 27th, eBay sent my Net funds to my bank account July 29th, and the item was delivered on July 31st. This has been my experience since eBay changed to handling the payments themselves; I routinely receive my funds before the item has been delivered (let alone received any feedback). I know there are various settings to determine how often you are paid (I believe mine is daily), but holding for 30 days does not make sense. From the above it appears you have had this situation happen before, so it seems something is up with your account. Did they send you a message in this particular case identifying the reason for the hold?
  3. I'm not following; you sold an item for $1500, shipped, delivered, received positive feedback from the buyer, but eBay is keeping your $1500 (minus fees) for 30 days?
  4. Did he/she ask for a partial refund due to the case?
  5. I'm not disputing the destroying of extras -- as I think that was done by CGC at the time of grading -- I'm questioning the "final" number of Virgin variants in the mystery boxes. i.e. He sends 2k to CGC to grade 20 and destroy the rest. He keeps 1; now there are 19 up for grabs in the mystery boxes, not 20 as promised. (Or did he tell CGC to grade 21?)
  6. I'm a little skeptical of those numbers. I believe there may have been some "upgraded" books that were not removed from the census. Expand Of course, but that's possible on every title/book in the census. Similar to the unknown number of books which were never graded. Census is not the whole picture, just one point that can be compared. I know of at least 2 CL #25's which are not graded (yet). And that's just in my very small circle.

  8. If I remember correctly there were actually two copies and he kept one for himself and lied about their only being one copy. I don’t mess with store variants because they lie so much about how many copies are available and some even claim to destroy the bulk of the copies to make it limited. I haven't followed this story that closely -- and probably don't want to -- but if Bry was pimping these mystery boxes as having 20 virgin copies (the rest being destroyed) and then kept 1 for himself.... isn't that misleading right off the bat? Either the mystery boxes then only have 19 virgin copies for buyers to get, or there are 21 total copies out there.
  9. Bakers on general don't have large census numbers. 23 sounds like a very popular issue to grade to me. For comparison:
  10. Can also use eBay's Terapeak to find prices; appears the latest one sold as the same price as the graded 9.4:
  11. He should nominate eBay for the HoS since it’s interfering with his business. Or maybe the whole hobby in general. @dylanthekid what do you think?
  12. THE Dylan — going by dylanauctions on eBay — just canceled about five auctions (ironic, right?) with a little over 24 hours to go. I’m assuming because he was not getting the prices he wanted.
