  1. 2. Adding to the Bobby Blue Collection - Most or all of these are on their way to ComicConnect so that’s where we can expect them to surface. I asked them about a book when I first saw the post with a Dynamic Comics 8. Yeah, I saw the posts on the collection pretty early and inquired about a couple books. Eventually they said almost everything is getting graded, and most (?) going to CC. Probably wouldn't have been able to afford them raw and via direct sale anyway.
  2. We ship every week on Thursday. It gets there Tuesday. They open it by Friday and it's charged. I can't say they charge COMPLETELY in advance, as they did some of the work (open box, input submission) before charging. But toward the end of the process? No. I don't know what to say other than that's a completely different order of events than every order I have put in with CGC for grading. However, as can be seen from my above post, I haven't submitted in a bit and I don't submit often.
  3. I guess we had different experiences as I was definitely not charged as soon as the box was opened, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And these TATs don't seem horrendous... Going through my emails I had 2 orders last year: a walkthrough (3 comics) and a modern pre-screen (25). Walkthrough Order created 1/17/22 Walkthrough Received 7/21/22 (was with a non-CCS presser before this) Walkthrough Shipped 7/29/22 Walkthrough CC charged 7/28/22 Pre-Screen Order created 6/10/22 Pre-Screen Received 7/28/22 Pre-Screen Shipped 9/1/22 Pre-Screen CC charged 9/1/22 Same timing for an order of October 2021; Received 10/6/21; Shipped and Charged 10/26/21.
  4. 2 different collections currently being discussed: 1. Fantast collection 2. Instagram Golden Age collection (only a small % of recent posts); most/all (?) sent to CGC and coming back with a BOBBY BLUE (wtf?) label note. (If that doesn't show money talks with CGC...)
  5. I kinda wish HA included pics to show the extremely rusted staples or water damage present in a vg+ pulp I got from them a few years ago I mean -- and this extends beyond pulps -- why wouldn't they goose a raw grade a level or two? Just more commission $$$.
  6. I had 2 bathrooms remodeled in 2022 for a total of 13K and didn't pay a dime up front. I had my roof done in 2020 (including 3 skylights, and a shed re-shingle) for 8K and, again, paid in total at the end. Similar-ish situation: Just had my basement redone; I paid for all of the materials myself, up-front (from various different suppliers), and then the work paid to the contractors upon completion. I don't know if that translates to comic book restoration. As for CGC charging up-front: don't they have your CC information but don't charge until it's shipped? At least for grading; I have never done CCS.
  7. Looks like CGC is giving the collection a special note on the label. BOBBY BLUE COLLECTION And though it very much seemed like these were going to be sold on IG, I believe they are all going to Comic Connect.
  8. And the pictures they provide.
  9. Or what Heritage decides to call higher grade copies.
  10. Update: While going through My eBay I noticed this non-buyer has changed his/her id to: goldenageguru so be sure to add that one to the list as well. I also noticed eBay will tell you if a user changed IDs (via that little purple icon) but not any information about the old IDs ..which kind of defeats the purpose.
  11. Thanks, Mike. So an old label swap situation, but a swap nonetheless.
  12. These terms are definitely broad, but compared to other pressing companies/individuals, are they really that different (if terms exist at all)? Do other pressers have specific legal terms saying how long a job can take (what if it takes longer?), what to do if you want to cancel, what if a book is damaged, etc. I usually only see an estimate for TAT and that's it; nothing about what happens when things go wrong (b/c that never happens).
  13. I forget how the whole newsstand thing works now, but is that also supposed to be noted?
  14. This is feedback he's left for other purchases? Not your sale to him? Correct; as someone else mentioned it seems like he is very difficult to please (and has the worst luck at buying on eBay; maybe he should just stop). And he just added one more: In my case, if I did miss the detached staple at the CF, that's on me and I completely understand his disappointment. This same situation has happened to me multiple times on eBay. However, once I passed on his partial refund offer and instead wanted my book and to give him a 100% refund (including original shipping) he got very hostile.
  15. Yup. If I had to guess, I believe this is because I am in Canada and FedEx charges a processing fee to handle customs on International shipments. I get dinged about the amount of the charge (approx $40) each and every single time I send books to the USA including to CGC. So when CGC did not cover the cost of shipping they also indirectly did not cover this. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure this is what happened. How does another $80 credit sound? ;)
  16. So you were charged twice? Once from CGC and once from FedEx?
  17. If he's just trying to scam a partial refund, then he wouldn't damage the book and would just rely on lying to get what he wants. If he decides to return it, however, he would probably detach the centerfold on the bottom staple to support his lie and punish you for not giving him what he wants. You said....."He is also leaving negative feedback stating I will not disclose in the future". Did he say this to you in one of his messages before he left the feedback? If so....eBay consider this feedback extortion, and they will remove the negative for you when he leaves one. If selling on eBay, I would add a bold note to the listing stating that no partial refunds will be given......and only a full refund will be issued upon the return of the item. I'm fine if just the bottom staple is detached; I'm worried he will be more pissed he didn't get his refund and do something more based on the tone of his emails. I would hope if that happens eBay would see that damage not noted in his messages and side with me, but you never know. I am also playing the "what if" game, so I will wait and see what happens. Yes, here is his additional details in the return request. At this point all I said to him was "send the book back." I have already notified eBay of the above message and others; I have yet to receive any Feedback for this item, but I let eBay know out of the gate this guy was screwy in case more goes sideways. And this separate message.
  18. Usually (not always) it's the shady ones who are quick to accuse others of lying, etc. I don't care about the money going in reverse, or paying for return shipping; I just hope he didn't damage the book initially or now that he has to send it back. Not only due to the book but then having to go through eBay to fight it.
