  1. BTW- that is a Russ Heath cover. Did anyone notice the ghouls peeping in the lab window? Nice touch.
  2. Ya know, it's kind of freaky when you realize that there is the body of a woman in the trunk, apparently about to be buried in the shallow grave to the right... just the sort of "subtle" touches that made many Atlas covers so cool.
  3. Yes, I'd say being a giant, ugly, green dude in purple trunks qualifies one as being a "Strange Man." Don't tell the Hulk!
  4. Yup, Atlas. Yep, peg-leg. Just how bizarre is he compared to the rest of what's going on?
  5. I did get in contact with a couple artists, but we weren't able to work anything out. I need to actively look about some more!
  6. That's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like 'em, uh huh uh huh!
  7. You know I buy the low grade readers! Nothing says "this books was loved" like a well worn cover. (well, that's one way to look at it, hehe) Oh, and btw- 52 is a low ball estimate, I think there are many more creases than that!
  8. Lemme crack it open & see. I actually haven't read this one yet!
  9. From Avon: one of those weird sci/horror hybrids. Nice Wood cover.
  10. I think I'll wait for another copy. This one goes on my Search List right now. They do pop up once in awhile, I doubt you'll have too long of a wait.
  11. Thanks, Jay! I knew I could count on ya for a laugher! Great pic! Did I mention I graduated Salutatorian? Pretty proud of that as well, but it is no comparison to being a first time father.
  12. Hey all! Been away briefly because I graduated my program Thursday night, & my wife & I had had our first child Friday! Pics to come! Ah, the history this thread has seen! Now, back to it.....
  13. hey Ghastly! I would say "Welcome to the Boards!", but looks like you have been here a long time, just never post. Anyway, that is one of my fave Graham Ingels covers, although I admire basically anything horror he did. As for that CoC, well, I believe it to be one of the more tough books of the run. Harvey's generally are easy to get, & in fact I myself have had TWO copies (although neither in high grade), but it does seem to come up for sale alot less than other Harvey pch. However, I would not rank it as "scarce" by official Overstreet standards.
  14. You should never use "BAM!" when talking about loose "swipes."
  15. I guess it would logically be George Meyerriecks, since he was indeed the guy that did #2. There is just such a dramatic difference between the line work & the painting, that I wondered if it would have been possible to be anyone else. Logic does say of course, that painting & line work are naturally going to be vastly different.
