  1. Easily one of my LEAST favorite titles, but I like this one because of the "Web of Horror" blurb. Funny how publishers just ripped each other off at will as far as story titles, etc.
  2. Well, this poll would appear almost unanimous to this point. I admit, I am the lone "nay" vote to date. I don't think it was Reed Crandall by a long shot either, but I voted "no" just to spite Overstreet. I really don't know ANYTHING about how to identify Roussos work, but I wasn't willing to give Overstreet the benefit of the doubt this time around. Hey, what can I say, I'm one of those tricky swing voters that drive the politicians nuts!
  3. Overstreet credits the atrocity to Roussos. Should we run a mini poll for this one?
  4. Nah, not the Out of the Night cover, the Out of the Shadows cover I just posted.
  5. Is it me, or is the perspective just completely shot on this cover? Yikes!
  6. My last 'Out of the Night.' Side note: I didn't get to make it to the Mid-Ohio Con this year. All systems were go, but I opted out at the last minute because of other priorities. Wedding expenses, Christmas around the corner, and the baby coming in March simply are more important right now. If anyone went I'd like a report if possible. Last year the horror selection was the best I'd seen in awhile, but the pricing was high at most booths.
  7. On with the show... Isn't it funny how over the years ACG seems to grow more & more on the horror collector? The trend seems to be that early stage horror collectors shun this stuff because it is not over the top gore or whatnot, but as you stay in the hobby over time the clean style of this publisher ( I mean that from a production standpoint, not a content one. ) really becomes attractive.
  8. Yeah, I knew that would draw someone out of the woodwork.
  9. Frankly Scrooge, I'm downright surprised there weren't at least TWO votes of "no." Give it time, if the poll gets a few more hits we will have a better idea of how the horror masses really feel.
  10. OK, it's been almost 24 hours since the poll started, so on with the posting! A whopping 5 votes with 4 yays & 1 nay. I voted 'yes' just because Overstreet credits him, & since I'm no real Baker expert I'd give them the benefit of the doubt this time around. The cover looks close enough to some of his other work for me. I thought it would be a nice jab to put "Overstreet don't know diddly" in there because I am certainly no OSG apologist or fanboy, even though I am siding with them on this occasion. In fact, I'm usually against them when it comes to their price quotes for mid-low pch, which I feel they have way too high & are irresponsibly slow to adjust downward, as many of you know. Maybe one of the very knowledgable "art-spotters" like adamstrange could chime in with an opinion on this cover?
  11. hey Paull, which publishers did Iger farm out to? I imagine it is quite a few.
  12. I got around to checking. Overstreet credits Baker with the cover art. I'm no Baker expert by a long shot either, but I think he worked for Fox, Fiction House, and maybe even an occasional Atlas story, too.
  13. Without double checking, I'd say it is Baker off the top of my head. I could be wrong, I need to look it up to be sure.
  14. My final Nightmare. I've owned three copies of this one, with this example being the best grade I could muster...
  15. Glad you guys are enjoying the Nightmare stuff!!! Here's another cool one by Kubert...
  16. A Kubert classic from under -appreciated (IMO) St. John...
  17. Moving on to the "N" section of my collection, a little beauty from Ziff-Davis.....
