  1. Honestly, the first I’ve seen of it. Cool concept, not sure if it will take outside of a small circle of uberfans. BUT, thank you for sharing with the post… I just spent a good 20m drooling over at Crain’s website. Love his work!
  2. Totally just messing mate. It’s going to be phenomenal and I can’t wait to see the pictures!
  3. Sounds like it’s going to be amazing! But the OA layout plan is making me twitch.
  4. Thanks for posting Bosco! This film is the one that is going to drag me out of my hermitude and back into a cinema seat… I. Am. Vengeance. Pumped.
  5. I’d also recommend checking out mycomicshop.com - keep a want list there and they’ll email you when they are in stock. Usually very reasonable pricing and there are excellent shipping options. I had a slab shipped to me recently, it arrived in 14 calendar days (from the US to Australia) in perfect condition and the shipping cost US$18. Truly mind-blowing.
  6. Well, slightly different (maybe), but I like homage covers. Sometimes I like them a LOT. In-book panels though… I’ve never seen it in the wild. Not sure how I feel about that.
  7. All this guesstimation makes me want to ask again - where do people find reliable print run numbers? I can’t ever find anything for books when I research.
  8. Mail call! I sold this years ago and I’m very pleased to add it back into my collection today:
  9. I haven’t read the whole thread, so some folks have probably already said this, but there have been massive sales for sports cards in the past couple of years. I remember reading about several multi-million dollar sales last year. That said, I believe comics are a different beast. The trading card scene relies much more heavily on nostalgia and people knowing the great players of the past. As an Australian, I can only name a couple of famous baseball players. But I can name countless characters from comic books… comics are universal and (while I haven’t sat down and worked it out precisely, my gut tells me that) the big and small screens keep new fans coming each generation or two almost like clockwork. (Wilson > Lowery > West > Keaton > Conroy > Kilmer > George “The Nipples” Clooney > Bale > Arnett > Affleck > Pattinson etc) I firmly believe the future of comics is solid. It will evolve, but not die out. The medium will change, and (as we’ve recently seen with the Substack positioning) we’re going to see more creator-owned IP. But it’ll take an apocalyptic event for interest in IH181 to be slim to none.
  10. There are always outliers, but generally speaking - pricing at MCS is fantastic. As is customer service and value. As an international buyer it’s one of my favourite places to shop and Conan has always been friendly and supportive via PM here on the boards. This thread was very helpful for me to understand the process. Thanks @thehumantorch!
  11. Well - here goes the risky click of the day….
  12. I picked up Tec 405 from @Wall-Crawler and the legend threw these gems in as a surprise… He knew I missed FCBD, and I freaking love the BWL character and Capullo, so this BWL#1 variant is much loved. I’m also very keen to read Ego before the upcoming movie releases. Grateful and stoked.
  13. This beauty arrived today, courtesy of More Fun Comics / @Wall-Crawler:
  14. I missed the one copy my LCS had of this and turned to eBay and this arrived today via Sad Lemon Comics in the UK to me in Aus! The other books I ordered at the same time from the shop 100 clicks down the road still haven’t arrived!!
  15. This arrived today… one of my collecting goals for 2022 marked off the list!
  16. Years after @Blankedboy started me on TWD by gifting me the first few TPB’s, I’ve finally picked up the final four volumes to finish the story… pretty excited.
  17. Possibly more international buyers these days too. Shipping o/s is costing more than ever. (And don’t get me started on eBay’s unique “import charges”).
  18. That’s like me… only I went all-in on the comics. When I was really little, my old man would occasionally pick me up a Phantom comic… or if we were going camping or something, I’d always be able to find Phantom comics at the local stores etc… Although I still have a massive stack of Phantoms sitting in the cupboard to give to my son in a couple of years, after 1989 I started hitting the newsagent with my own pocket money and it was all Batman and Wolverine from then on.
  19. Another delayed shipment arrived today! Sat with UPS at customs for three weeks before finally blessing me with its presence:
  20. Just the regular covers. Haven’t picked up any variants for BRZRKR at all actually… Not sure why… Mate - that is a deadset haul this week!! Love it.
  21. A whole bunch of pre-orders and delayed international shipping rocked up this weekend. 🎉
  22. I hadn't seen this cover before... It is unbelievable! Love it.
