The next three books are the last three issues of Comedy Comics (second series) 8, 9 and 10. I am selling all three as a lot for $90 (OBO).
These books are very low grade, but they are all complete making them excellent reader copies. They are also incredibly hard to find in any condition.
Comedy Comics #8 is the nicest of the three. It has a detached cover and very rusty staples. Otherwise, the interior is in decent shape. I guess I would call it "Fair".
Comedy Comics #9 has a loose centerfold and the cover is practically loose, but it's all there. Fair- perhaps
Comedy Comics #10 has seen a lot of love over the decades.Half the back cover is missing, but otherwise the book is complete. Fair/Poor... maybe Poor... I guess I would grade it as RC for "Reading Copy".
For whatever it's worth, they all feature Dan DeCarlo art.

This is so weird...why would you say the government doesn't trust its citizens. So you get this 1099, and you yourself know you did not make money on that sale. You know what you do...you don't pay taxes on that sale...there is no "proving your innocence" needed. What do you mean by that?
The act of issuing a 1099 is stating you have income. It is up to you to prove that you do not. Hence, "prove your innocence" as you have be accused of having income when you in fact do not. It has been said before, many will pay taxes that are not due because of ignorance or caution (since people do like the word fear in this context).
The government trust comment was a facetious response to shad's "what happened to this country" comment. I thought it was funny, but it apparently missed its mark.

It is not about paying taxes. It is about forcing people to pay taxes that they do not owe. In the eBay email, they make reference to a bike purchased for $1500 and sold for $800. No tax is due (can't even take a write-off for the loss), but a 1099 will now be issued. Prove your innocence. You miss this point over and over.
The government used to trust its citizens. What happened to this country?

The Montegrappa celluloid FP’s are some of my favorite pens.
Never had a Sailor, but hear great things concerning the nibs.
I have three Sailor pens. Two are new and the third is the 1972 one above. I have not been pleased with the two new Sailors. I may eventually move those along. The Sailor pocket pen was more of an afterthought when I was buying a couple other Japanese pens (Pilots). I was very surprised and prefer it over the two modern Sailors. All three are 21k nibs.
I do like celluloid. I have a couple other Montegrappa celluloid pens including two flex nibs (one will be sold).
I keep several inked. At my office, I am using a Montegrappa Fortuna (black ink) and a Pilot Deluxe (blue). At home, I have the Parker Premier (bronze/orange) and two Parker 88s (blue and red).
I got three pens yesterday in the mail from Japan (all Pilots) and have two more coming next week (Parker 75 and a leather wrapped Platinum). No, I don't have a problem...It's such a cheap hobby.

Did not intent to collect fountain pens, but I guess I do. I just like writing with them and have accumulated several. Here are three. Top is a 1990s Montegrappa Symphony, middle is a 1980s Parker Premier and the bottom is a Sailor pocket pen from 1972. The Sailor was thrown into a deal for some other pens. It is a surprisingly good writer and I am glad I got it. Strange to think pens were important enough that companies were competing for consumer dollars at a pretty high level. The pocket pens were to meet a need for writing on the go - small, light writers. They were also part of the gold wars between the big three Japanese manufacturers. Nibs went from 14k to 18k to 21k and eventually 23k gold. This pocket pen is a 21k fine nib.

I read that as "strippers" and immediately pictured you on a powerboat with a captain's hat, chasing exotic dancers on a lake Benny Hill style.
I'm going to pretend that is reality and no one can stop me.
I read it the same way and thought "fluke" must be a euphemism.

All I know is that 9 out of 10 people on this board would have graded that FF a 9.2 or better if it was raw...
The FF may be a weak 9.2, but I would not call it fugly. Take away the big $$$ price and most any of us would be happy to have it in our collection.

No one seemed to care about Anti-M during COIE when seen on every WB show. Now they will?
IMHO lame character with an even more lame look. Featuring Anti-M as a cinematic main villian says to the world we cant compete with Marvel so we wont even bother to try.
Looking for an undervalued original Crisis; 3,10,12 i feel fit the bill. Classic covers on two of them and 3 is the most difficult of the series to score a 9.8.
All my opinion of course.
I would call only one Crisis cover classic (#7), maybe two (#8). What is the appeal of 3, 10 and 12? Are they first appearances? None of the issues look pricey in 9.8 in GPA.

This invisible sculpture just sold for over $18K
How long does it take to carve an invisible sculpture? Is it expensive to ship?

The “CVR” designation seems a bit generous. NG would seem more appropriate.
A smaller case would be better as well. Such a small piece looks absurd in a full sized case.
I’m not familiar with blue label CVR slabs, but how is this not trimmed? Are there purple label CVR slabs?

I assume the marketplace decides. People seek out desirable covers and ultimately pay more for them. Hulk 340 is valuable because of the cover whether it is designated as such by CGC/Overstreet or not. Any designation should be made as a reaction to the marketplace not the other way around.

300 and 301 are on separate art boards. I think there’s a YouTube video where McFarlane discusses the decision process for 300 & 301
I look at the covers and even the McWebbing looks nearly identical. I'll have to look up that video.

Heck ASM 301 IS a homage cover to ASM 300
Is there really original art for each cover? I always assumed they were the same art. Drop the NYC skyline on 300 and dress Spidey in red & blue and you have 301. I'd like to see someone with photoshop skills lay the 301 Spidey on top of the 300 Spidey. Even as a teen 301 seemed lazy to me. It was one of my least favorite of the McFarlane run because of that.
