  1. Your wantlist just got more expensive. SCANDAL causes prices to come back down
  2. You HAD an A level page that went back and forth between you and another collector over the course of 10 days, if I recall correctly
  3. I don't know what you paid, but if you convinced someone to let this page go, you got a deal
  4. Well, the information this auction has given me is immense. The time is now to start dumping preacher pages If you can find a sucker to pawn them off on buyer, DO IT .
  5. I thought $790 was actually pretty healthy for this page. Thoughts? With all of the chatter around here i was expecting it to go over $1,000. As with the entire OA market, I think the gap between "A" and "non-A" grows a bit each day. This page overall isn't a "great" page, but it is a title page, which i think holds an appeal of its own.
  6. All good advice from Doc. You can also go here to see how other board members have FRAMED THEIR ART
  7. Agreed. It's what makes the story as a whole so universally appealing. And if you collect PREACHER art you can focus on any number of things: Jesse pages Tulip pages Cassidy pages SOK pages The WORD Deputy Cindy The humor of Starr The humor of Arseface The love story of Jesse & Tulip The Duke Fist fights Gun fights Jody & T.C. (I need a good one of these two ) And a few more niche areas i am forgetting.
  8. THIS ONE Well...kind of an exception because it's an issue #1 page, and comes with a premium attached. The question is worth considering, though. I'll say that even a halfway decent SoK page will get minimally $3K these days. It's just what the market wants. There are not that many, relative to the overall number of pages, and they don't pop up for sale often. And while I do know of a few non-SoK pages that have sold for $3K and up, it's a rare event. So for the purposes of a rough price guide, consider the "$3K-$5K" range for PREACHER to be be primarily concerned with SoK...important to remember when shopping for non-SoK pages. What about "The Duke"? Or is anything with him automatically bumped since he is talking with Jesse on the page? Just curious of your thoughts on this.
  9. Yep, SOK is a bad-arse And he's certainly not a villain like Starr. He is more of a tragic character put into his position by forces greater than him.
  10. Nice! I just started getting homage cover commissions. Thanks. Douglas gets my highest recommendation. This is my 19th commission from him ! Any homage commission collection needs at least one from him and one from Mike DeCarlo. Tell them I recommended you to them and they will either give you a sweet deal or charge you double
  11. Another commission from Douglas Paszkiewicz I love to ask Douglas to take his own creations and fit them in to some of comics classic covers. This time he put his characters on the cover of MASK 1
  12. The thing I don't like about threads like these is they seem to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. The next time an "A" page is listed on eBay/CLink potential bidders will think they need to bid "$3,000-$5,000" to win. Get two bidders thinking this way and the cycle is complete. So, to the boardie reading this that is going to test the theory, please post a link so we can all watch.
  13. Contrary to popular belief, I'm as clueless on what a $3k-$5k page is myself. I've never purchased a PREACHER page in that range and certainly never sold any in that area either. When I heard of the title, splash page that traded hands for 5 figures I was seriously, "WTF?" I do know, however, that any page J.Sid owns is closer to the $150 dollar range, but I'm willing to pay him double that
  14. I got several pieces in from Douglas Paszkiewicz this week. One of them was a commission team up between him and Mike DeCarlo.
  15. No Jesse No Tulip No Cassidy But still happy with these pages from THE GOOD OLD BOYS one-shot
  16. if they write a personal message however that will increase the value-the Adlard WD page I scooped up cheap has a paragraph on the back to the person he gave the page to-lucky for me the ebay seller didn't put that in the listing! It was a nice surprise when i received it. Tom & Penny seem to think so
  17. So you want something nice to hang on the wall, but doesn't cost a lot? Visit the HERITAGE archives, find your favorite and print it out to fit your room design. I'd say buy a transparency you like but I don't want to legitimize the sellers on eBay
  18. For those that like modern independent comics, I just finished uploading the second portfolio of Jeremy Baum's POSTLAND comic. Currently there are 153 pages on display and I've still got a portfolio and a half to scan <3 POSTLAND made the editors of BEST AMERICAN COMICS "NOTABLE COMICS of 2013" list What? You haven't read it yet? shame
