  1. Received some long overdue KICKSTARTER rewards this week. Got a COMMISSION and a DOUBLE PAGE SPLASH from a Kickstarter project called "TOKYO WONDERLAND." It may have taken longer than expected (how many don't ) but the end product was worth waiting for.
  2. +1 I was going to ask if they could all just be consolidated into one thread.
  3. If an artist wants to retain his art to create a demand and price structure there is a balance to be made. Let too much out and the control is lost and the free market supply/demand curve starts to set the price. Don't let enough out and the buying public doesn't have enough info to make an informed decision. Is $50K too much for a cover? Is $10K closer to what the market will pay? I don't know . I won't tell him what he should do, but i think he'd do well to see how KJones has done. (which coincidentally is my OA budget as well )
  4. Andrew, Congrats Now that the page is in hand, any backstory? Did the deal come about as a result of this thread? Did the seller find you, or did you find the seller? -Mike
  5. First rule of collecting PREACHER art: NEVER, Ever, under any circumstances, look at the WSFA pricing on the back
  6. Closing on ComicConnect yesterday, PREACHER 04 Page 16 did pretty good at $1976. It's got Jesse, Tulip, Cassidy, SOK, and Arseface. The only thing missing is a swordfish
  7. Added several pages from Robert Goodin's THE MAN WHO LOVED BREASTS It's a fun 18 page story worth checking out.
  8. Simon is the original owner of all of the PREACHER covers I'm glad he's finally decided to open a CAF account. He has A LOT of other treasures within his collection.
  9. GREAT advice from another thread: aelhra, will you be my big brother?
  10. o.k., I still haven't read this series in it's entirety I have about 60 issues or so. So, instead of trying to find the missing random issues I was looking at the Hardcover deluxe editions available. Looking for any honest thoughts on these. Nicer than the comics?(looks like the same size, not larger ) Worth getting, or track down my missing issues? Does it contain the entire series(one thing I dislike about the SANDMAN TPBs is the reshuffling of the issue order). Thoughts on the Brother Lono mini-series? I'm really looking forward to reading this series now that I've started getting some of the OA. Risso is just awesome
  11. Looks like God has a few fans out there. PREACHER 49 Page 15 ends on CLink at $1700 Nice page.
  12. Here's a new twist. Instead of asking Fabry to re-do a PREACHER cover a collector (not me) asked him to re-create an interior page. The fan in me would love to see the entire series painted by Fabry. The OA collector in me cringes. From what I know of Fabry's commission rates and the asking price of the original page, this collector got a good deal.
  13. A few good stories in that run (#11 & 27 come to mind) but not the best group of books from the series. I consider them a necessary evil until the series get's rolling when Ennis takes over as writer.
  14. Combining the topic of "Do first appearances matter to YOU" with an A-Level PREACHER page thread, does the 1st "appearance" on PREACHER 09 Page 06 make it A-Level? I don't think it does. This, to me, is a case of hyping up whatever is on the page to make it more appealing. We'll see what the 6+ bidders have to say about it in a few days.
  15. #33 is one of my favorite stand alone issue of all time
  16. Was just about to start a 100 Bullets thread & found this one. With it being one of the 9 (or was it 11) titles that Warner Bros has in development, you would think there would be some good discussion. I would have much preferred a TV series for the book, but hopefully a movie can be done to do it justice. I've always been surprised that there is so little talk about this series as it is by far my favorite modern series. Great characters, a storyline that always keeps you guessing & some of the nicest art ever. With a book that has so many notable characters & first appearances it's crazy that there is no investment discussion about the different Minute Men characters. Issue #1 is really the only book to have any value, but there are a ton of firsts throughout the first 50 issues that could all pop depending on who is focused on in the movie. HBO should just buy the VERTIGO catalog. They could have YEARS of hit t.v. series (and DVD sales). 100 BULLETS PREACHER Y Sandman (with special effects what they are now, WOW) Lucifer just a list of some of my favorites (and fan favorites) that would go over well if they followed the already laid out hit storyline.
  17. just uploaded a nice 8 PAGE CHRISTMAS STORY by Douglas Paszkiewicz. It's sure to be a classic
  18. Congrats on the compete story. And it's great that such a recent comic has all of the text on it. Double score!
  19. Lazy Sundays are counterproductive to snagging the piece you want.
  20. Josh gets 5 NotSoNice Thumbs Up (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u * *That's a positive review for those in doubt
  21. I'm not sure I understand what's going on with the price of this piece. Its an attractive page with Jesse and Herr Starr, from a relatively early issue and has good content. Given all the discussion on this thread, you'd have thought this would go for $2.5K, instead of just $1K. Anyone else feel the same? I guess I am just out of touch. 3 others (JJ, JJJ, and ArtistLost) all think it was a bargain at the $999 price.
  22. I thought that PREACHER 24 Page 07 was going to end up in an eBay re-listing cycle at $999. Guess I was wrong
