There are few true Black hole collections. Mostly, I think, because of the financial aspect of keeping every single piece of OA purchased. Conversely I think there are many micro-black hole collectors. Pieces may come and go, but they have that small selection that will be the last pieces to go if/when they begin to divest. I can't find a feature on CAF as a whole to look at pieces by date posted, but that link is in each individual CAF gallery. How many pieces were posted in 2000 that are still in the same collection? I'm guessing quite a few. So, for a majority of the board members here those pieces have been locked up before they even thought of entering the hobby. So, anyone looking for any of those pages is out of luck.

Definitely a strong price at $1674 for PREACHER 46 Page 17 . I mentioned to another collector that I was kind of surprised it went for more than a HUGE fully painted Moeller LUCIFER cover.

But I've given up trying to predict closing prices on PREACHER pages long ago. The only thing i know for certain is the seller must have agonized over the first 6 days 23 hours then jumped out of his chair in the last 4 seconds of the auction closing.

Sure, HA is having some good sale prices today. But if you're in the market for something a bit cheaper I've got a few items WELL under $100 available at NSNart . Only asking $36 with my current 20% discount for something like this, which i less than your typical "quickie head sketch" at a convention. YMMV

There are a few ways you can go about this. Most, however, require you having a friend attending the convention. * Set up a commission/sketch before the show and have a friend pick it up for you * Send someone you trust some $$ and ask them to pick up a sketch for you. Does it have to be "sketches"? Have you tried getting some commissions from the artists you like? Those you could get no matter where you live (or where they live for that matter). Just do your homework before paying for any commissions up front.

I met Mr. Phil Hester for the first time this past weekend at the Phoenix Comic Con. He had a portfolio of art as well as a stack of $20 pages. After flipping through the portfolio I started randomly looking through the 6" stack of pages he brought along. One sort of looked familiar. Then I realized it's from a story I pull out and read every few years, FREAKS' AMOUR. I asked if he had any more of these and he said there were a few more in there. "A few more" turned out to be about 30 . FREAKS' AMOUR 01 Page 45 on CAF. Lesson for the weekend? There is still affordable art out there. New collectors are not priced out of the hobby if their scope is wide enough

It would add value. I think there are enough people who want a "word" page. For me, there are other more desirable qualities though.

O.K., I get that. I purchased a page years ago and the seller said that even though he was a fan, he didn't like the story the girl was telling about getting revenge on her dad and the extent of what she would do to do it. (31pg01). I did think the page was pretty high for a single panel of Jesse. I guess the Jesse Tax from here on out it going to be $1,000 per page (per panel? ) Even without the Jesse Tax the floor seems to be rising even without the 'big 3(or4)' making an appearance. Not even 24 hours into the auction and PREACHER 55 Page 23 is already $1000 . If it goes much higher I will be doubly

$975 seems like a lot for Jesse on 1/4th of the page. But that's what PREACHER 53 Pg 12 just fetched on ComicLink tonight. Sure it's the origin story of Bob Glover, sex detective , But I'm literally not buying that hyperbole.

Sheesh, If there is a FB page/group started for every artist that has taken money and not completed a commission Facebook may need to buy some more servers.
