Have to say that looks so much nicer than a 3.0. What's the deal? I have thought about getting my copy graded for some time now, as I think it's a great high grade copy, but I kinda don't want to after seeing yours.

Nice book! My in-laws always buy me Archie stuff... it's sweet of them, but it's always like a sheet of Archie stamps, or the latest "Best Of" printed by Archie Comics or Craig Yoe. Totally appreciated of course, but I'd rather have gift cards to eBay or Metro, or Ha if they did them. My parents on the other hand still inquire from time to time if there's a certain book they can buy me for a birthday or holiday. Suppose even at 40 I'm still their little kid.

It's definitely the same book but the auction has been removed from eBay so it's a moot point. Thanks for looking out for the community.

Well that's a pretty cool reason. Look like fun books ... Archer's a little young but I'll definitely pick up some copies. Enjoyed the juggling vids too!

Nothing too special to report, but I did grab the last two Ginger issues I needed on the Clink auction last night. $46 combined, and great slabbed place holders till I upgrade.

I did not. I had all of the TNs on the block. I was considering the 37 as an upgrade, but decided I'd already spent enough money on the Hangman 5. I did stay up and watch them end though. Actually, if I hadn't I would have missed the Archie 2 go up on eBay.

Thanks man. Glad to finally have a copy. I think I am giving up on the whole "slow down the buying" bit. Picked up a coverless Archie 2 last night as well.

Keeping within the Hangman vein, and proving that I clearly have no idea what the term sabbatical means, here is one of last night's purchases. I have always loved this cover and needed the book to complete my Hangman run. While it's not as nice as the one Shield kicked this thread off with back in the day, I think it's an awesome looking copy. My guess is the detachment hurt the grade, cause aside from the bottom left corner I think it presents beautifully.

Not sure if I made a good choice or a bad one last night, but this thread needs a so I'll share. A coin dealer posted a complete but coverless old Archie on eBay. He thought it might be Archie #15, and started the bidding at 10 bucks. I emailed him, and (cause I'm an upstanding kinda guy) told him that it was in fact a coverless copy of Archie #2. I then asked what it would take to end the auction and sell the book to me. We went back and forth on some pricing and finally sealed the deal. Truth is, even with the decent amount of Archie knowledge I possess, I have no idea what a coverless Archie 2 would go for. The book has a spine roll, and a loose inner wrap, but all in all looked like a nice interior. Who knows, maybe I just set the price. All I can say with confidence is that I know I would have paid a lot more for a #1 and not as much for a #3. Time will tell. If anyone sees a cover lying around PM me.

I know that I am late to the game here Bob, but I wanted to say welcome and congratulations on a fantastic collection. It was a real treat to peruse. Agreed it's a great looking copy, and I was including Gino in my reply, he grabbed some great looking low-grade gold. I've been thinking about a short sabbatical myself. I thought I'd slow down when Archer was born but 2014 was a big buying year. Unless something special comes along (always leave myself an out), I'm gonna focus on preparing for what is sure to be a brutal 4/15 even with my giggly new write off.

Just finished browsing all 181 pages, and have to commend you on some impressive snags from dale's thread guys! I love that TN 24. Too bad about the resto... what a great looking book!

Here's a book that needs to be featured on this thread. I wish I could say it was mine. That said, I'm not sure if the collector who drops 15k with Metro to make it theirs will post it, so... Here's an advanced to its next owner.

Looks amazingly like my unrestored copy. Detached cover. Same PQ. I actually think it's a really fair price. If I wasn't saving my money and for one of Adam's other books I'd consider making this one #3.
