  1. CGC is in negotiation with Kav to have him become its mascot
  2. Out of respect to the seller, I wouldn't say he was shilling the auction, all I suggest is that when you're setting a max price that's where it should stay. It's up to me to decide whether I should accept the second chance offer or not. Had I watched the auction unfold and actively bidding at the time I might have gotten carried away and keep bidding higher
  3. So not really a garage pickup or comic related but thought this was cool. While I was pulling up to the gas station yesterday I saw this sitting outside the 7/11.. Excellent condition, wheels are all functional, just need a little clean up at the base. No rust or spots
  4. Here is a perfect example as to why you want to "set & forget": i set up my snipe program for 25$ and forgot about it. Apperantly I lost that auction but moments later the seller gave me a 2nd chance at my asking bid of $25
  5. Ahhh life was so much better when there was only a DM and newsstand variant
  6. I ordered my copy from MHC if you need I will post the newsletter from the time
  7. All those new comic book speculating sites are like super villains and the CGC board is the masked crusader. Each time a new one surfaces and captures the innocent lemming attention, CGC wears its cape and flies off to fight crime!
  8. Multiple copies of each sells current trends sell sig books sell (see my other thread regarding this) cheap worthless graded books sell i can go on and on but you get the idea (I hope) dont need to "trick" anyone to make good money out of drek. Just have good marketing skills
  9. These arrived today. All but two are NM https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Savage-Sword-Of-Conan/303116046253
  10. Youre not moving books at guide prices period, regardless if theyre single books or lots unless youre chuck rozanski or MCS When youre selling a single book you dont have to be smart to know how to move it... Just price it at your comfortable level and describe it When youre selling a lot, marketing and visuals come into play... know what to sell, how to package it, how to take pics Its a whole diff ball game
  11. Not sure what proof youre looking for? a quick search on eBay will show you hundreds of lots selling for anything from $20 to $100s with no particular key book attached to those... If you need more proof that drek is selling in massive quantities look at fb.. Youd find what people have been doing on eBay for years on end, only in a different platform (since of course youre saving the 10% ebay fee).. plenty of examples around
  12. My wife and I just came back from watching "Hotel Mumbai" at Kaufman Astoria Studios in NY this weekend. That is the furthest I would ever travel outside of my home in relation to the middle east (joking aside - really good movie)
  13. Theres a new product called "2019 Historic Autographs Comic Book Autograph Avalanche Box" which is pushed by many card dealers currently: https://www.blowoutcards.com/2019-historic-autographs-comic-book-autograph-avalanche-box.html https://www.gtsdistribution.com/ENTERTAINMENT-CARDS/2019-HISTORIC-AUTOGRAPHS-COMIC-BOOK-AUTOGRAPH-AVALANCHE.asp https://www.steelcitycollectibles.com/i/2019-historic-autographs-comic-book-autograph-avalanche-hobby-box https://www.dacardworld.com/entertainment/2019-historic-autographs-comic-book-avalanche-hobby-8-box-case What it is basically, is a collection that was obtained by a dealer which supposedly contained plenty of autographed comics. They devised a plan to market these as Collectors packages: Nice to know that we live in an era where the grab bags of the past made such a breakthrough with the aid of your friendly neighborhood card dealer
  14. eBay got us all figured out the moment we walked through their door. If you dont think they have researched our shopping habits, likes, searches, trends... EVERYTHING by now, youre wrong. If sniping wouldve cramped their style or put a hole in their wallet, they wouldve cracked down on it. Just like they did the second we offered a seller to exchange emails/numbers. They LOVE the fact that buyers take advantage of sellers lack of knowledge of product, or listing skills. Dont forget that they charge for listings, promotions and stores. They make their money before you even click "publish my listing" They want the BUYER to be happy and make money off the sellers But that doesnt mean that auctions are dead. If you know how to sell as well as you know how to buy, you will make a pretty penny off auctions. Just learn how to create desirable auctions. There are plenty of buyers who will cut you a check for nice lots of drekky books. Theyre out there. Its just that most sellers dont wanna spend the time in moving lots and shipping them and I get it.
  15. I snipe on all auctions simply because if I bid too early I make the auction visible to everyone who set their seraches that way. I had sooo many sellers that cancelled my order when I sniped on their auction when they had no other bidders and they hoped to get a higher price/bid war. The negative feedback wasn't late to follow and immediately after that a seller's apology with a miraculous "book found" revelation.
  16. Morning Mr Sienkiewicz... Youre a lil late but we'll forgive ya
  17. I think CGC needs to design a label for silver age (or older) books with a grade of 2.0 and lower that looks kinda "vintage" that will go along with the look of the book. That will probably make these grades on such old books more desirable as they truly are
  18. I would love to see a Blackhawk 1 with a newsstand sticker on it. Fuggit I'll prolly just go and make one myself just for my own amusement
  19. Spawn #9 1st angela and angela books in general are seeing a spike. Angela is supposedly going to play a major role in Marvel's War Of The Realms event starting with Asgardians of the Galaxy #8
