  1. Don't see the mask off or who the person is by name until WD 135. Even CGC slabs say first full 135 on Lydia.
  2. "Might"!? We need to work out the specifics - however, in all likelihood we will be setting up special signings for CGC SS. Why? Its a public convention not a private signing even as far as I know. I hardly think there will be a shortage of CGC witness around for the person to grab and get a SS done. I've found many creators willing to work with the person personally. I'll give you an example Cullen Bunn has great fan friendly social skills and signed a few of my books for free even with a CGC witness a while back. Maybe setting up special signings for CGC SS doesn't mean the creators won't sign books for the fans in artist alley or elsewhere like if they have scheduled signings at a booth. Special signings is prob just an easier and more efficient way to get books signed directly with CGC SS. I could be wrong, though, but I'm sure Court will clarify the details. (thumbs u This just streamlines the process so all CGC SS books can be tackled at once, and we don't have to worry about having someone walk up with 100 books and asking to have them all signed while other fans wait for a chance to talk to Tim and Mehdi. This also means that only one witness needs to be present for the whole signing, etc. Less work for Tim and Mehdi, less work for CGC, less guessing for the cusotmers as to when they might be available, etc. Should be a win-win. They will, of course, be happy to sign all other books at any time in AA provided that they are not for CGC SS. I'm a bit confused by the points you make here. I'm not a novice, I've had books signed for CGC SS as well as submit without signatures and yes while CGC does charge a little more unless a person is asking for some sketch or sketch cover how does this bog down time? Are you trying to say that an additional special CGC witness needs to also be tapped in for the process because I've never seen that happen. A CGC witness is all that is needed. Tim has chimed in here he's more than happen to work and sign with anyone so I just think this special order thing either isn't really necessary or someone is trying to make an additional profit on a service that is already factored in between CGC , the artist, and the person paying for the service on a individual basis. +1 Enormous Rocks!
  3. I got a " spoon" sketch too... This has to be one of the worst cover ideas in recent memory.

  5. We can't always live to tell a tale for another day. Intoanother is a good name but I have nicknamed you slabhunter! These plastic tomb books are expensive! I've been debating changing my name to RenoKelly cause I'm down to the felt! Vegas > Reno

  7. I feel like most collectors from the 1990s have a lot of these books, but they either aren't in comics at all anymore (books are in storage), or they don't understand slabbing and have no experience with it. I can name 10 guys who collected comics when I did in the early 1990s. None of them are into comics now. The census can certainly grow, but until it does... a lot of collectors have to either buy slabs at current market prices or do without. I think on these boards people forget most of the collectors out there mainstream buy raw books in various conditions. The slabs are a niche market with quirks and choices within. Raw book sales are still key. The local comic conventions here (small state, at least 3 hour drive to a major city) are almost 100% raw sales. There are a few slabs at these conventions, but they don't attract buyers... they're just curiosities. +1 Exactly. I'm right outside a major city and we have the one WW con every year now. Sure some high end dealers have the slabs on the back panels of their booths but rarely do they sell. Sunday rolls around and I see empty short and long boxes empty being scrapped and those slabs still hanging around.

  9. I didn't read any other posts, but here's what I don't get . . . 1. You take photos, you don't "make" them. 2. You mocked up a slab? 3. Photoshop has no business in the comic retail world. 'Splain me Loothey. True. It wasn't used in the "Comic retail World".. Thanks for the insight. You're welcome. So, we're just supposed to say, "He just made a stoopid mistake, and we're all cool with that."? I. Don't. Think. So. It was a right wing conspiracy come on now trolls. He meant to scam people out of tons of money on purpose. Yeah right. Go outside and play catch with the dog or something. This is getting to the point just like the media lately, build a guy up and then jump up and down when someone makes a mistake.
  10. ^ This 100% Really. Pinkys been selling here for as long as I can remember being here. He explained what he did. Quit trolling and find something better to do Exactly the tone was there in accusatory form. I swear trolls need to do their research before running their collective grunts. I hear the NY subway needs a good scrubbing.
  11. Search it on the CGC website, it comes back void - no match found. I wouldn't have even noticed if he didn't go all Tom Brady and delete the post and image. If he starts deflating comics, he should be suspended from the boards! That is not unusual for CGC to have a new slab not show up on the census. Pinky is a honest guy come on now really ?
  12. AMC will never let WD go until either one of 2 things happen: ratings fall to lowest possible threshold (like that is going to happen anytime soon) or Kirkman wants to stop it. Neither of these things will take place.
  13. Won't matter much all they have to do is have him say "frack" just like Battlestar Galactica did.
  14. Hopefully a few more updates come in and we can update it. I have a feeling a few have been slabbed, and or sold. Even possibly to one another . I'm shifting my PC and moving away from SS so the SS and The Beast SS may be released into the wild. You lost me on the SS and The Beast SS.
  15. Depends how the TV show adaptation goes. Never say never as I heard this argument made 2 years ago about The Strain. That project was frst pushed for TV by Del Toro when that didn't happen he co-wrote the trilogy of books and then the comic book series and following series hit the shelves long before the TV show aired. People still want to buy them as long as the show is a hit. Yes, but prices are weak for the Strain books imo. They all can't be WD levels now can they?

  17. Silk will be fine IMO. They actually created a decent Asian female character that while is very close to PP powers are a bit different. SG is basically Gwen in a snazzy suit.
  18. Nostalgia? Not to mention it looks really cool in a slab. Love the cover! That book I see at cons anywhere from 15-75 dollars. Always makes me smile when I see it.
  19. I really enjoyed the book till Marvel waved the white flag on around issue 60 or so. I thought it was the freshest idea Marvel had come up with in a long tie. When are people going to wake up that Marvel / Disney is not vesting in the long term. This reboot of #1's is going to continue until the facade is not working. every year, a new #1. Like a new TV season or DVD season. It is beyond that some series are rebooted after issue 5 or 6. The gimmick won't last.
