  1. Joey....Don't let anyone press you into service before you're ready. Good luck on a speedy recovery.
  2. Recently dig this out of a box and got it behind mylar. I know it's 100% legit. Got this from the man himself at the 1974 New York Comic Convention... 11x14 Meeting and getting signatures and sketches was free and easy back then. I have pics somewhere from this convention with a few artists and a great pic from the costume contest of Vampirella (not for the faint of heart)
  3. Obviously you're quoting "for sale" prices which doesn't really reflex GPA.... wishful thinking on seller's part in some cases or hoping to recover commissions in others. Have you checked history of sold items on these sites? As mentioned above, making fair offers and having patience is the way to go.... just need more patience than the seller. Good luck...
  4. Quick question... I pulled out some of my magazines and noticed that this Crazy 81 (Dec.1981) has, in lieu of a barcode, "Distributed by..." printed in the box... saw this on only one other book. Assuming this is a "direct" copy, but looking for confirmation from those in the know... thanks.
  5. I've received a couple fresh slabs from CGC with debris on the interior. Spots that can be seen at certain angles. .. Since they were new, CGC reslabbed them for me... so not uncommon.
  6. The CGC credit that they offer for joining will be applied towards grading submissions... wouldn't really call it free. The price for grading depends upon the book that you're submitting. https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/cgc/ There are also choices for having the book shipped back... again, depends upon the book. UPS insures up to $50.... USPS will include insurance for the value that you supply to CGC when you fill out the on-line form.
  7. Well, not a single word, but I've seen auctions for a CGC 9.6 that's described as "looks like a 9.8." ...
  8. Sometimes it doesn't take much to get the crowd excited....
  9. ...which is why I don't sell my valuables on ebay.
  10. I've got 10 moderns that just passed the one month mark.... maybe CGC will work through X-Mas ... or maybe not...
  11. From what I saw, Will Eisner was the artist (Maxwell) at the beginning of series, but wrote through quite a number of the books.
  12. William Erwin Maxwell .... one of my favorite artists..... better know as Will Eisner
  13. Thanks..... It's graded a 9.2 (Thank you joeypost)
  14. ....and holding book horizontal and looking across the cover, in the right light, can help spot some of the minor defects listed here. Highly recommend the suggestion to do your homework on the "... Can You Spare a Grade" Thread... Good luck and welcome. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/
