  1. I was just looking over ebay policies and discovered that I don't need to provide 1 day shipping to qualify for Top Rated status. That was one of the qualifying aspects, along with free 30 day returns, to get TR Plus and 10% off FV.... not doing that.... Now I have no need to pretend I'm a tree hugger and will be extending my handling time by a few days... and wait for buyers to pony up.
  2. "What'd da ya want with a Ford when you got a horse?"
  3. Thanks... but closest mailbox is at the post office (They're getting as scarce as phone booths around here) and mail couriers in my area are too chicken slick to drive down the single lane road, on a hillside, to my house. Otherwise, great suggestions. ...and I've been convinced to just shut up and enjoy the chaos.
  4. Was not aware of that board rule although I was only thinking about ebay sales.
  5. OK, well I didn't stipulate that it's a rule... just a suggestion to maybe motivate. The point was getting opinions about trying to cut down on multiple runs to the post office; not the need for instant payment. I guess the moral of the story is that I shouldn't expect others to have the same values that I would extend. Got it...bad idea.
  6. Good point.... and I'm one who pays right away as well... maybe that's why it bugs me.
  7. You're likely right but it will be an interesting (or not) experiment. I'm set up with guaranteed 2 day shipping to keep up a power seller status..... not even sure if that's worth having.
  8. I'm thinking about adding this statement to the description of my ebay auctions...... GO GREEN.... Submitting payment on day auction ends helps reduce trips to post office and helps save the planet. Who knows if it will motivate or make a difference or even be read since it will be at the end of my description..... Not everyone has the convenience of a post office nearby and since I offer shipping within two days after payment I'm sometimes making multiple trips, eating up gas and my time. Some may have a good reason or need to wait until next pay check (?) but it does bug me when someone makes a last minute buy and then doesn't pay for 4 or 5 days and I need to fit in a post office run. Discuss....
  9. I put a lot of my comics in mylar / acid free boards and boxes when I was collecting in the 70's.... from BCE. Chances are if you don't know if you used archival products, then I wouldn't count on them being so.
  10. Mylite bags are made of Mylar and are great for long term storage. Polypropylene would be the next level down... for short term. I bought a small pack of Microchamber paper (same used by CGC) to use with older comics, especially more valuable or with issues such as a musty odor, etc.....
  11. What a sad, ugly individual.... even after he was educated (guess it didn't stick) and you offered to take back the comic, he takes the low road... couldn't add him to my block list fast enough.... Guess he'll just miss out on the minty 80's X-men that I recently sent to CGC (All likely coming back as 9.9 or 10's... ).
  12. Yes ... Value slow track... which I don't quite understand. Just because a comic is pre-1975, but still valued under $200, it's "penalized" with a long turn-around and costs more than modern. Cost may be due to age and possible fragility. Must be a reason for the long turn-around that I'm not seeing.
  13. (3) comic books received by CGC 11/13/19 ... Value ... 02/07/20 "Scheduled for grading".... considering the Todd McFarlane event, not a bad turn-around.... can't wait to see grades.
  14. .... and I have a 9.6 copy that was just listed at MYCOMICSHOP.COM if this advise is taken.
  15. Thanks for this.... So I wasn't imaging things..... Apparently they dropped this requirement for whatever reason... maybe too many subs like mine.
  16. OK.... Maybe it was just a suggestion. I thought I erred when I learned what the bag was after the fact.
  17. Good catch.... I see it going all the way to the top.
  18. Window bags were a requirement for raw submissions... apparently CGC worked around this since I sent mine with standard bag and board (all received high grades). It was my first SS and didn't realize what a window bag was. I don't care for them and in the future would use a bag that exposed the whole cover. I feel the artist should choose where to sign.
  19. If the SM 1 was polybag edition it would not have the $1.75 price on the cover. I sent in two polybag copies and had them pressed because of the seal line down the center back cover.... Came back 9.8 & 9.6
  20. I sent in 16 comics for this signing without window bags ( Don't mind explaining why) and all but three came back as 9.8... other three 9.6. (expected with two of those). CGC took good care of my submissions despite my misstep.
