I think its sorta a gray area. You aren't supposed to, but you would look bad if you actually sued or made a fuss about not getting a job because you aren't female. They probably shouldn't actually say it outloud (if they ever truly did), I think everyone assumed the director would have to be a woman anyway no need to out right say it and risk anything legally.

Just watched episode one, it felt cheap and predictable like the last few years of Dr Who. Oh well.

Yeah it happens. I’ve had a few good wins over the years from garage sales and local auctions. My biggest buy ever the guy won a storage locker for less than 500 bucks and tucked away in it was 6 figures of original comic art. I ended up buying it all, was my best financial move ever.

My favorite book growing up. Really hoping this doesn’t hurt to watch.

What’s odd is I remember seeing ditko art at shows in the 80s and it was over 1000. So little movement in the 10 years afterwards.

It’s just a major departure theme wise and story wise. It definitely picked up as the season went along.

Usually have no time for Media awards shows, but it’s nice to see an actually great movie get a little respect shown. Favorite film of the year by far.

Wow have you seen some of the “Reylo” fan outrage? I saw the video of the women screaming at the ending that was shared, but apparently they are freaking insane. I don’t normally agree with the idea of “Toxic Fandom”, but these folks are off the wall.

I think it’s because of the “disapproval and distaste” she has shown in public put a lot of fans off. Plus she is rather over rated as actors go, she makes Marisa Tomei (sp?) look like Glenn Close. Again, she is making millions playing pretend so It’s still a pretty good deal all around for her.

Respect history, Respect Fans, respect the final product over all other concerns...do that and you win. As for TFA and it’s sequels. You give us midiclorians (not even bothering to spellcheck that garbage), Jar-Jar, and then kill off your only compelling character...all in the first movie...

Completely felt Tarantino. For any flaws this season had (namely the shrimp farming episode) the positives vastly outweighed them. Some parts I felt a little iffy on letting my youngest watch, especially the Mandalorian Armorer just smashing guys faces in with the hammer, but overall me and my kids loved it. Funny how “toxic fandom” disappears when you actually respect the history, the audience, and are more concerned with producing a good product over all other considerations. Looking forward to season 2. First time in years I’ve had any hope for Star Wars.

FYI the reason for the drastic increase in the fight scenes in ESB and ANH is they Dave Prowse was replaced by Fencing legend and stuntman Bob Anderson. Replacing an aged Alec with 20 something Hamill didn’t hurt either Bob later went on to train viggo mortensen for LOTR as well as choreograph the sword fights for all three in the Trilogy. He also was the guy Connor McLeod killed in the opening scene of Highlander.

Well this isn’t fun, this effects 100s of lots coming up for me. I didn’t know about it till I read it here. Not sure if I like this.

I always felt “toxic fans” can only exist if we have “toxic media” and “toxic filmmakers. Rian Johnson would definitely fall into that last category. Everything is a culture war now, Disney decided to wade heavily into it with TLJ, and since has suffered as they have scrambled to recover.
