  1. I'm actually writing this in the lobby computer center next to where the show was earlier today. It was a good show, well represented. A bunch of us had dinner together the night before in the hotel restaurant (its actually decent). I had a piece I wanted to show Eder but I never saw him. Picked up a few interesting items too. After I was done with show stuff a different group and I had lunch in the same place, was fun to meet a lot of boardies. Did a few collector to collector buys and sells as well as dealer buys and sells. I cant stress this enough, you need to bring material to sell or trade to these shows as a collector, trust me. Thinking of going to my first Mets game tomorrow before I head back home. Should be fun.
  2. What did the buyer do that was unethical? The seller intentionally went into a competitive retail environment and almost knew nothing about the product he choose to sell. It's not reasonable for the purchaser to inform the retailer they are underselling, in fact it could be viewed as insulting to the seller.
  3. Followed all night, just nothing got me fired up to throw down, especially with NJ this weekend. The Quesada SW cover and the Sam Keith splash came close.
  4. They don’t have to burn the books either.
  5. Disagree, you keep it quiet. I’ve learned the hard way never share when you score, too many folks will try and salt the experience and if in anyway possible try and ruin the deal or at least make it as difficult as possible. You hide major scores, it’s just easier for all parties involved.
  6. Twin Earths Daily from February 1962, i dont know why i just had to have this one. Something about it (and yeah maybe 2 somethings if im being honest) said buy me and frame me. I still think Al Williamson or FF worked on it with AMcW.
  7. I drive from Ohio, if you want to go you will find a way.
  8. Ive had this happen to me before, my rule is simple I treat it all like playing at a poker table. If you sit down at a table and buy in for 5000 dollars after watching rounders 2x and maybe playing a few hands on you Iphone....its not my fault of the others at the table when you get taken to the woodshed. You knowingly put yourself in a situation and asked to engage with people who clearly know more than you about whats going on. Buying and selling high end items with greater value experts than you comes with risks, he knew that and choose to engage anyway. If you dont know how to play poker, Dont go to the cage and ask for a stack of purples cause you have a "vague idea" of what you are doing. If you dont know the price of something obviously special, dont pay for a table to a sales gathering and put it up for a sale cause you have a "vague idea" of what you are doing.
  9. I still don’t get this random inability to score runs. How the hell does this team of all manage to have their top 5 of rotation go 1/27?! Just murdering folks for weeks, then blown out like a candle when needed.
  10. Books I read in my youth when I spent my summers on a small island. There are about 100 of them and I’m looking for art from them mostly. I found cover number 1 I wanted. Now onto the rest.
  11. Not a FR guy myself, but I do love Caniff work so thats odd.
  12. It’s been a few shows since that happened. Don’t think it’s coming back either.
  13. If a comment still gets likes, “shark jumped” or not keep hitting it up til it don’t.
  14. God that’s awesome. It just feels iconic.
  15. Well they were in a hard place by some of the missteps from late last season story wise. In the end it was a mostly hollow season that seemed to literally be designed to correct mistakes from previous seasons. I wont say I enjoyed it, or hated it. It was beautiful and flawed. The last 10 or so episodes didn’t fully ruin the first nearly 2/3 of a borderline flawless show, but it put a hole in it that couldn’t really be filled. I liked at the end they all just decided to start over. The time travelers arc was maybe my favorite part. She was great and I loved her ending. David, Farouk, Sydney, and Lenny were all sort of monsters who it seems got some sort of chance for redemption (well Lenny only partially) where you assume the sins of their past won’t be repeated. I guess this show is my “Game of Thrones”. Loved it til the end then felt sad how badly (some felt anyway) they botched it. Still worth the journey.
  16. LIEZ AHL LIEZ!!! Hell the entire state of New York liked the movie it seems, Get with the program!
  17. I think I’m gonna go see this movie again. I’m sure I missed things on first viewing. First non comic/sci-fi movie I’ve wanted to rewatch in the theater in years.
  18. Agreed, yet I’d still love some prime valiant stuff...nostalgia I guess
  19. Frank Miller...at first when I was a kid I thought it was blocky and sketchy at best. Now ,while I still see the same looseline seemingly hurried look to it, I see the overall beauty and a ‘complete page’ sense of design present. Doing more with less.
  20. Attention, I think this is the guy who used to pose sans shirt in comic buying ads?
