  1. It’s Bloodshot I think. Perlin just isn’t one of the guys people like. He just never had a run outside ghost rider that got him fans. I honestly remember him more for valiant than Marvel, but im also under 45.
  2. Btw, you ever give your top 5 American comic book artists?
  3. Completely false, scientifically been proven to be the Mendoza line of artists. See if you can trade his pages for Don Perlins...if you are lucky...
  4. Yeah the Red Skull appears to be to be touched up or fully redrawn. The mouth not only but look at the man on the left side, Skulls clothing is not in alignment with him anymore, the point of fabric goes from over his face to above the head.
  5. Kirby sorta prime, Sal sorta prime....hmm based on a select few the irrefutable opinions on this board...1.8 million to .53 cents in Kirby’s favor? Or something like that, I think once you try and measure it you change the outcome.
  6. Let’s also Schultz’s sweet spot was twice as long as BW’s entire career. It’s been sorta mentioned but let’s make it clear. I got that the last 10 years was slow and sorta repeated, but Christ that it was still actually quality (which it was) after 40 years is a miracle unto itself). Hell didn’t he even write/layout all the original peanuts movies including “A Charlie Brown Christmas?”.
  7. You are a cruel man, torturing us with the average like that....
  8. I never hated the PP strips (without Marcie). They often had this theme of unrequited love that she had for Charlie, but at the same time not knowing how to do anything about it. She was the only character to have an actually hard life. She wasn’t very bright, felt she wasn’t very pretty, but she wanted to be. If you remember she lived with just her dad in another part of town that you got the impression wasn’t as nice. She is a very misunderstood character I think. Insanely loyal and loving of her friends, wanting to be loved by Charlie, and always faced with failures outside of the venue of sports. Marcie sorta bogged her down, but when she was on her own or especially with Charlie Brown she was a very likable character.
  9. I find that so subjective, based on certain folks worrying about what other people do with their possessions. As long as you aren’t damaging folks directly, I’m a fan of live/let live. Remember: what two consenting adults do in private (in this case one buying one selling) is really not anyone else’s concern. If you feel so moved to attack them for their consensual act that doesn’t harm you, it might be revaluation time.
  10. This entire topic seems off to me. The amount of money we are spending on funny book pages guarantees everyone buying is eventually gonna be “a flipper”.
  11. Amen, I mean at the end of the day all of these guys had long amazing careers producing work that we all loved and like owning pieces from. It’s just opinions on art, they can’t really be right or wrong really (just snarky/funnier than others ). Having said that I’m still a Miller guy. Having owned a few DD pages it always felt special to me holding them. They felt like he was creating the art on two levels (sort of like Steranko) where it was not only a collection of beautiful panels that told a well written story flawlessly, but that when you held the page away from you they actually worked as well balanced visually striking pieces of art.
  12. Even this movie tanking brings me no joy. Why did they have to smash this? Honestly the only one I liked was Quicksilver and he was in it for like what 43 seconds (your results may vary)?
  13. He sorta punches down. It’s not playful. You don’t actual have to be humble, just pretend. Guys like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt and Paul Rudd get it and the respond to criticism with the “man I’m lame sorry hehe” type responses usually or “just wait” when fans gripe or worry. To be fair those three probably aren’t pretending but you get the idea.
  14. Well Mercury did come out of retrograde... #LFGM
  15. I think I’m looking more in the “marvel” era when talking complete issues...maybe it would be better to do most overall pages either inked or pencilled?
  16. 1. Star Wars in general (likely luke) 2. Tarzan 3. Spider-Man
  17. Sorta on the “All Sal All The Time” discussion: who pencilled or inked the most complete issues in history? Would it be Sal or Kirby? Al Williamson or JRJR?
  18. Haha my turn to play heel: always thought Kane was very over rated. I just hated looking at the figures he drew. I know others see greatness in him, I’m just not one of them.
  19. The stat line I laid out would never be MVP...but on consistent good play would be a 3000 hit 600 hr .300 hitter. He was never number one in most eyes but he was of the really good artists for longer than just about anyone else who could work on multiple books and genres with multiple other artists and always make it work.
  20. Come now, I don’t think even you think that
  21. No doubt he used expressive eyes. Kirby did the same quite often himself. But it wasn’t every time. I really liked this guy, not a fan of crapping on his work.
