I think if you can just remove the entire casino scene, de-powered Rey and have her some actual failings/character, removed “your mama” jokes, removed the bombing run scene, turned Luke back to something less sniveling/weak, removed the sea cow teet-squeezin, made Hux some thing other than a 1 dimensional Buffon, removed Carrie Poppins scene, changed purple hair ball gown to a real commander who understood how to lead/act like someone who came up the ranks, eliminated the insane idea of a slow speed low fuel chase, eliminated hyper space weapons as if no one ever thought of it before, Rework the phasma fight scene to be less impossibly stupid, and gave Luke an actual fight scene instead of the shoulder brush cheap trick meme scene, took out Rose’s ruining of Finns one great hero moment, and didn’t have Like die from getting “too seepies, need nap” syndrome....it would have been an ok movie, probably. Or at least palatable.

Interesting take, don’t know if it’s all the same audience or the same money but it’s another layer to think about.

The director seemed to think there could be some back lash to the social justice component to the film, he was proactively trying to mock/shame any reaction to it. Nothing wrong with doing woke terminator, just be prepared cause some buying public gets turned off by it and likely won’t go.

Up, I’m actually a bit of a fan now. Seeing the caniff influence really showed me how intentional his sense of design and action was.

What kills me is how cheap the fake stats are or how they are often wrong/off, talk about adding insult to injury.

Well anything with mass can have gravity, so an asteroid can have it for sure.There was enough gravity to hold an atmosphere in the “cave” That should be enough to pull bombs.

Again, it’s not great it’s not bad it just is. It feels pretty boilerplate to me for the most part. Plots within plots shows tend to feel predictable that way no matter what even with this ones “shock value” and weird tech on display. I’ll keep following on though as I love the Jeremy Irons part, the only thing keeping my attention really. On that subject, I bet AV is trapped in the Arctic in some artificial prison. That suit and the catapult device are his attempts to escape.

Only if you believe millions of fans are upset at Irving Kershner for ruining Star Wars. I think it’s mostly just Rian with a dash of JJ’s boring predictable placeholder storytelling.

But each one made money and did at least 400 million. Going down I get, catastrophically bombing to lose likely over 100 million is another.
