  1. That Larsen page was nice, but dear god over 60k?!? It’s not from ASM, it’s a panel page at that. I can’t look at these prices and think “nostalgia” is a main force driving this.
  2. …IT appears that some disloyalty has occurred against ARTSOC and someone has bid over the approved amount for a cover by “the average”. People, I’m beginning to think you aren’t all as loyal to our noble crusade against “That-Other-Buscema” as you claim to be…
  3. This is mockery and as such ARTSOC approves of this patriotic act, citizen. Much social credit coming your way. Remember: “Always suppressed, never Impressed!”
  4. Isn’t that Ben Stevens gallery?
  5. When it comes to cratering card values I believe there are three major factors not being discussed. -The trimming scandal has spooked some buyers out of the “high grade” market. If you can’t trust your psa 10 or BGS 9.5 is truly unrestored flawless why pay the premium? - Online Sports gambling has exploded in the last year in terms of legal access and ease of use. A lot of the money people were essentially gambling on cards they are now literally gambling on games those cards came from. It’s a more instant fix and has a similar effect. It’s also what’s boosted sagging sports viewing IMO (it’s not that people all of the sudden found they loved “the game” again, it’s now more of them have a financial interest to watch). - A lot of people were stuck indoors for extended periods recently with everyone in essence isolating to some extent. For the people who generally appreciated experiences over things (like I feel many of the newly minted sports card buyers are) they I think supplemented the former for the latter as they felt shut in and cut off from their former interests. They couldn’t go to games and out to bars to engage in their passion, but card collecting and dealing online gave them some release so they “bought in”. Now most of those restrictions (internal and external) are gone for them and with it the motivation to participate in the hobby. Less buyers means less absorbers of product and therefore lowered prices as few folks are competing for the same stuff.
  6. I think that Mignola only did break downs and that it’s mostly a P Craig Russell page softened it a bit. Also it tends to help when the main character is in multiple panels not just one (but this panel is so pretty that might not apply here). I bought an true full pencilled by Mignola page with multiple strong panels of Stranger just a few months ago for about 800 from this run. This HA page all things considered seems right price wise.
  7. 1. JRJR DD amazing page or cover. 2. Sandman talking page. 3. Trade or sell some higher end pages and covers I have no personal great love for (usually acquired just got cause they were neat and or a great price). 4. Land a good new mutants splash or cover I never owned before. 5. Be happy with what decisions I make.
  8. This first original issues by Jim, where he did all the art and it was lettered on page, where is all that? Jim hoard it all? Did a blackhole just buy it all?
  9. Who doesn’t love early Image? Picked up this nice splash from Shadowhawk 2. Where did all of Jim’s art for Image go anyway? https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1776458
  10. Put an Alex Toth page up from the first Super Friends book Collectors Edition 41. All Toth pencils and inks. https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1774602&GSub=145535
  11. I have a feeling next year will be a very different year on ebay.
  12. I honestly sort of like this. Something about the color ranges and scale. It’s got this like weird energy. I’d happily display that.
  13. Ha, I turned down a Wendy pini finished drawing from the 80s for 500 bucks last year. Had no idea it was so popular. Live and learn I guess.
  14. Or 5 of his captain America’s pages (if one ebay seller is to be believed).
  15. Does all of the art collecting community return to here? Or go to CAF? There is a need for a photo rich message board style communication I think. Where do all those collectors go?
  16. I think new emerging (unproven) artists don’t get much play with American collectors until they have had multiple runs on different books with five-six figure print runs. Guys get shots but to be known some version of that needs to happen.
  17. I know their is a market for a lot of this stuff, but I for the life of me have never heard of maybe 90% of these artists. Is this a specialized show for only artists of the last 10 or so years or does it also have traditional 20th material as well?
  18. I just wish I could blocker sellers so I wouldn’t see their listings. You could make a list of crappy no-interest hack artists and auction house resellers. They never have anything worth having anyway.
  19. Oh ok cool. Wasn’t trying to sell it to ya. You asked I showed. Think their all nice pages. Besides I mostly sell via heritage when I do sell, I’m burned out on the games.
  20. It was a Mignola page actually. This was one of the issues he actually pencilled not just breakdowns so I figured good price great image and him using powers, hard to beat. Don’t have a great pick but got one before the wedding when I placed in my trade/sell travel portfolio.
  21. I actually got a nice phantom stranger page oddly enough before I left early to go to a friends wedding (only 6 miles away if you can believe that).
