  1. I have a box of comics on an island, most in g/vg shape. I buy covers and pages from those books.
  2. I have been a big believer in pogo. I pick them up whenever possible.
  3. Quesada did extremely well overall. That Ninjak cover was shocking. I had a fantasy notion of taking a stab at it but man that price point is well beyond what I feel comfortable paying. I was interested also in the Azrael pages, figured they would be like 1000 a page considering it was a lot and they had really content. But with tax and shipping they ended up being like 2500 a page. This appears to be another clue that I’m likely never gonna land any more art from this book :/
  4. I think the push for older strip art is likely the buyers looking for opportunities in underpriced material. To many people Terry strips look like values considering their artistic and historic merit. Caniff basically is the face for action based comics. He influenced and changed how we both draw and consume sequential art. In this crazy market some folks see his work as a value and they decided to buy some at what they felt were cheap prices compared to other later artists.
  5. I had one item in this Friday auction, it did meh. Maybe I was expecting too much out of it. Overall prices seemed strong. Some deals, some head scratchers.
  6. Be a quick two million bucks in your pocket if you flushed em all I bet!
  7. Went again to the show, had a very good time as usual. Was able to pick up a few nice pieces. Seemed like the most attended show I’ve ever seen, definitely the most dealers. I brought a friend along who had never bought art before, he acquired his first 5 pages by the end of the day lol.
  8. Nice video. Two dealers you missed were Rose and Brad Savage.
  9. I flew across the country to buy a large collection off a guy I found online. Doing my research I find out guy caught some gun charges in his past, overall a situation I try to avoid. But the deal was good and I’m not very risk adverse so I agree and fly out. I was coming with a lot of money and I hardly knew this guy beyond the previously mentioned stuff, so a friend (a boardie here) hooked me up with a contact of his from the area who happened to be a PI. He came with me just in case mess went sideways as it sometimes does. So I fly across country and meet up with both of them…and it was a great experience! Yeah the seller was a little squirrelly but nothing I hadn’t seen before. No violence or anything even close. The PI and I became friends on the spot and we ended up hanging with the Uber driver I hired (also a great guy). We ended up driving around the city hitting up local joints and had a blast.
  10. You know, maybe had it been a revolver style that might have sold more. Like more in keeping with the character?
  11. Its a great looking page. Does seem like a great buy for someone. I used to love the show but like many I tuned out after Rick left.
  12. I have gone to every NJ for the last 8 years and I plan on attending this one as well. As for the hotel it was it's a great space for the show, I just wish their was a restaurant or at least a bar at the hotel lobby for socializing before and after. I'm always shocked more people don't go to the show TBH. If you do go, trust me bring a portfolio of art for sale/trade. Some of the best deals occur between collectors. I also went to the art show in Columbus last Saturday. It was a great time. Everyone brought art to show off, or trade/sell. I would gladly go again if he were to hold it next summer.
  13. I have about 5 covers I really want. I probably could punt the rest and just have those and be happy. About 3 years ago, after decades of looking, cover 1 showed up at 1am on eBay BIN. I know where two is (missed it by an hour) and I just found 5 but he wants what I think is double high market and I’m just not there yet.
  14. :::takes off ARTSOC hat::: God that’s a great page.
  15. That’s so wrong on so many levels.
  16. 20g have been removed from your chocolate ration. We must never speak positively of “the average”, even in jest. Please be more mindful of your words, citizen. Let’s all do our part…
  17. I’m in the middle of a nightmare right now dealing with USPS. Constantly shocked at their lack of service and professionalism.
  18. Not if we have anything to say about it! “The Average” must be stopped at all costs, thank you for your efforts on this front…and remember… P.S….Your chocolate ration has been moved back up to 30 Grams.
  19. already making one grand if it ends today. Likely goes to 8-9k at least....messed up being the underbidder on that one... sold 10,800...yay for someone...not me...
  20. already making one grand if it ends today. Likely goes to 8-9k at least....messed up being the underbidder on that one...
  21. I think we have printed 80% of all US money that ever existed in just the last 2 years alone. Gotta put all that money somewhere. Skyrocketing prices should continue. panem et circenses, why worry?
  22. I’m really surprised (but in a good way) to see the love for bagley.
