  1. CGC shares publicly whatever they see fit. People are always free to just call and ask questions as well, I have always found them to be very courteous. The point about inks can be true on a large run, but this book did not have a large run, and EVERY fake has the same incorrect reds, the same shade on the link the the original fake copy has are on these copies, while every real one looks exactly the same (it's actually not just the reds that are wrong they are just the most noticeable). And of course, good luck on ever getting that cover/paper stock right. -J.
  2. Yes they have intercepted counterfeit moderns in the past. The first gen 667 fakes had the thicker cardstock cover and the incorrect red inks (the fake ASM 678's had the wonky staples). These newer (apparent) second gen fakes have an overly glossed cover stock with an "orange peel" texture (real copies have a smooth texture), along with the same incorrect shade of red inks. -J.
  3. Do you even know what everybody's respective positions are anymore? NO ONE has said that Marvel prints anything to order. They do however print within 1-5% of orders received, plus whatever courtesy copies, and, according to Marvel and repeated by you and multiple other boardie diamond holders, rounded up to the nearest case pack. What that means ? If/when they have enough of a remaindered case pack of certain copies, those copies might find their way to a diamond sale in limited quantities. If you want to actually "prove" something otherwise instead of blathering on about your opinions as if they were fact (an unfortunate tendency I see you still have yet to outgrow, along with your propensity for juvenile condescension), why don't you post evidence of you personally ordering and receiving multiple unopened case packs of a 1:50, or even 1:25 Marvel ratio variant from pre-2015 from a Diamond warehouse sale. Of course that would still only be anecdotal, but it will still carry more weight than "Marvel is a liar, only listen to me" nonsense you've taken to spouting again. -J. PS: @paul747
  4. Right. So...other than Marvel's official statements on the matter, as well as countless other boardie diamond account holders who have gone on the record openly disputing your statements of opinions, "I" have nothing. Got it. You have a very interesting view of things Mr. Gower. -J.
  5. You literally just called the world's largest comic book publisher a "liar" because they (not me) disputed every central point that you are trying (yet again) to ram down people's throats, and yet "I" am the one engaging in "hyperbole". Okay. -J.
  6. It's all lies then, Got it. Better just to believe you. And Chuck. Bringers of all undisputed fact and truth. -J.
  7. He has better pictures, but I'll let him post them himself if he so chooses. Unfortunately, Kwan isn't the only boardie who has been passed one of these in recent days. -J.
  8. Relevant Quote from Chuck in that thread: "Marvel is much more secretive, but have somewhat tightened up their print runs for most variants, especially after the massive overstock that had to be sold off in 2013. Or so it seemed... They recently have come under criticism for Star Wars Variants and Action Figure Variants that have suddenly appeared directly from them, much after the fact. This mysterious additional glut of product has led to them to take a hard line PR stance that variants are printed to order and rounded up to the case pack size " Agreed then, agreed now. -J.
  9. Here's another fake one next to the real one on ebay. It's not the "lighting" here either. -J.
  10. No. It isn't the lighting. Neither picture is either under or over exposed, and certainly not enough to change the shade of red. Lol Not a coincidence that every other fake copy has the same shade of red, regardless of the "light". -J.
  11. Seriously guys, there are a new round of fake copies of these being circulated. This isn't the first batch that have been. Fastest way to tell the difference is the reds on the front cover. They are always too dark. The copy currently on Ebay is real. Compare it to the three in Kwan's photo and make your own determinations: Real ebay copy and kwan's copies: -J.
  12. Lord man I sure hope you made sure those were real beforehand. -J.
  13. Actually, as both an early adopter and someone who has never and will never sell a comic (I thought that was common knowledge around here by now), I'm doing just fine with my comic "investments" (that I simply refer to as "my fun hobby"), moderns and otherwise, thank you very much. And please, quit referring to those worthless sales figures Gower posted from 30 years ago that don't mean squat today, while ignoring that he himself SPECIFICALLY stated that publishers are and have been printing very close to actual orders now, rounded up to the nearest case packs. This will be my final response to you on this matter here. -J.
  14. And of course you are 100% reasonable with your estimates. It is generally accepted and common knowledge that publishers are generally printing only 1-5% over of orders actually received for at least the last several years (and probably a lot longer). Everyone knows that the margins just aren't there for publishers to wildly over print based on actual orders received these days based solely on "spec" (which is likely why we see so many second and later printings of books pooped out so early and so often these days). This person you have previously responded to is a notorious "print run troll" around here that you will do nothing but waste your breath on. -J.
  15. Prospective buyers can try to leverage all they want. The seller has even greater leverage with the entirety of the remaining sales history of the book, including the 9.4 that sold for $13.5k after the outlier comiclink sale. And two spine ticks don't drop books down to 8.5's. Ultimately the seller is holding all the cards here on a book like this. -J.
  16. The comiclink sale last year was the only sale below expectations last year, but that had more to do with venue than anything else. The two spine "creases" this book has could be mitigated to spine ticks with an experience presser. I still think the book could be massaged up to a 9.2 or even a 9.4, there hasn't been a raw copy offered in this good of condition on Ebay in years. It could go for ~$8k. -J.
  17. Not likely. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Cgc+trade+paperback+&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&_mPrRngCbx=1&_udlo=20&_udhi=1%2C000%2C000&_ftrt=901&_ftrv=1&_sabdlo=&_sabdhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=91604&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=200 -J.
  18. Many copies of this book have pervasive spine damage on the back cover, that doesn't seem to impact the front. This one actually looks pretty good on the back, especially compared to the last couple raw copies that came up for sale back in 2016-2017. -J.
  19. You guys may be sharper eyed than me. I was thinking maybe a 9.2-9.4 with a press. -J.
  20. First RAW copy of a Dell'otto 667 to hit Ebay in years. And this one is real: https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-667-DellOtto-Variant/153375873930?hash=item23b5ea1b8a:g:4B0AAOSwHOlcYxUH&autorefresh=true Anyone care to hazard a guess on potential grade? -J.
