  1. Let's see you crack a high dollar book out of a slab one time and find out it was fake and the grading company missed it and then see how you feel. Maybe then you will see the bane on the market fake/counterfeit comics can be and stop trying to somehow redeem them with your "factual statements". -J.
  2. You're entitled to your impressions of what he said and so am I. Me personally, I find it absolutely appalling to be advocating in any way shape or form the production and distribution of fake/counterfeit comics. No they aren't cute, fun and gimmicky and I don't care about your LCS owner and his PGX slabbed fake hulk 181. If anything you're just further proving the unseamliness of PGX and this homemade walking dead comic even more with such an anecdote. That fake comics exist and sometimes change hands, if only for paltry sums, does not legitimize them in the least. I might suggest finding another cause to white knight for, because this sir, ain't a wise one to be hanging your hat and staking your credibility on. -J.
  3. ....except Tom Hardy has already come out and said that it's not true. -J.
  4. Nice score man ! That's really gorgeous. -J.
  5. Either way still foin to be cool to see him on the big screen again. -J.
  6. Oh wow. I did not know about that. Well that would explain it. -J.
  7. Quit spreading false/misleading information and advocating the promulgation of fake comic books on unsuspecting collectors. I suppose you're also okay with the counterfeit copies of the ASM 667 and 678 variants making the rounds on eBay too, especially since someone dropped $4k on one of the fake 667's and $1200 on a fake 678? Or should I just call those "unautorized reproductions"? Come on man, you're better than that. Furthermore, the only counterfeit book to ever "appear" to sell for four digits is one single copy of a counterfeit TMNT 1, and that was back in 2014 (it sold for $1000). Unfortunately we have no way of determining if even that sale was real (though I doubt it was). As for counterfeit Cerebus 1, well that has topped out at about $200. None of this is persuasive evidence of an overwhelming demand for fake copies of comic books. And the biggest difference there is (as you said) CGC notes they are fake on the label. Of course a couple of big problems with that logic is A) PGX does not call these books fake on their label, and B) Like this fake walking dead comic, the fake ASM 667 and 678's the Cerebus and TMNT 1's were not created as goofs or novelty items, they were created to decieve people. That CGC has managed to catch some of them doesn't mean they have caught all of them, and as someone who owns many of these books that are being faked, I have a real problem with even the thought of that. -J.
  8. A 9.8 Winter Soldier 1 just popped for $600... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Winter-Soldier-1-CGC-9-8-White-Pages-DellOtto-Variant-Cover/162951763848?hash=item25f0ae9788:g:5xYAAOSwh41arc2l&redirect=mobile Always loved that cover. -J.
  9. Any particular reason why X men 12 has heated up? -J.
  10. Last 5.5 sale on GPA $45,410 February 22, 2018. So this one was well within that ballpark. -J.
  11. No, it's just that when I repeat back to you what you essentially said, minus the spin, within a very reasonable worst case scenario context, you realize how preposterous it sounds. You may want to stand down on this one. -J.
  12. You don't see a difference between a legitimate variant released by a publisher and a fake, homemade comic that someone is trying to pass off as being legitimate, that a grading company may or may not catch and alert a prospective buyer to if someone should attempt to slab it? -J.
  13. No problem. Nice pick up by the way. -J.
  14. I have no idea how many there are of those books, although in the census the ones that say "RRP" on them have the fewest graded (28), compared to the other two (48). All three seem to have gone for around a couple hundred dollars in a 9.8. As for the "1:50" note by your LCS, I have no idea what they're talking about, and a book could not be both an "RRP" (again, this comic is not that, despite what they printed on the cover) and a 1:50 ordering incentive variant. -J.
  15. That is not a real "RRP". That is a DC-only program. Dynamite just slapped that on there in a fairly crass attempt to boot strap onto the name recognition of that DC program. -J.
  16. The piece looks great! I would definitely redo at least that matting though. -J.
  17. ....and posting under shill accounts doesn't mean you aren't "RockMyAmadues" (RMA), still obsessing over the same comic that you never have nor ever will own. Move on dude. -J.
  18. Agreed. Either 7.0's are over priced or 6.5's are under priced. -J.
  19. But but but.... we were just told by the peanut gallery that prices are dropping and/or down to 2016 levels....? -J.
  20. Do these juvenile antics help you feel better about selling your copy for less than five cents on the dollar of current FMV? Just curious. -J.
  21. I never kiss and tell but Jerome (lethalcollector) definitely reached out with a bro deal that I couldn't turn down (I've actually bought many, many slabs from him privately over the years). -J.
  22. UXM 510, 9.4, partial sketch one bidded for $5k... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uncanny-X-Men-510-partial-sketch-variant-Super-rare/132537422365?hash=item1edbd8921d:g:d2YAAOSwpcBaqL1h&redirect=mobile -J.
