How did you even find that? It doesn't list the issue numbers in the title.

Not much margin at $30. Actually wondering if there is any, even if you're getting them at half off cover price.

This post gets two thumbs up. I remember Wizard, long ago, having a 'best 100 covers' article. I took note of, and looked looked for a few of them. Given your username I would have thought you would have set your standards higher.

Lemmings Sometimes, a cover will pop in people's eyes when they see other people appreciating it. That's not necessarily being a lemming. I've had the crowd go for covers I still didn't care for, and I've seen covers through new eyes when I've heard other people appreciate it. I agree 100%. Others on here have disagreed on this point. I learned the first time a book I worked months on got crushed in a review. It stung my ego. Sure. But - attack me as a person, especially with ZERO knowledge of what you're accusing me of or the circumstance and stakes involved? Personal. And I don't go for the "it's just the internet". I think it's safe to assume most people on here and other sites are reading comics. There are a ton out there right now. But, let's look at one thing, you are posting on the CGC forum (an arm of a company dedicated to providing a service almost solely for the valuation of comics / collectibles) and another forum that is literally titled speculation and investing. 1. Why did they make 48 issues of Alf. Was that not a sign of the bubble burst? We can't even get 48 issues of Spider Man anymore. 2. Why are you going to four states looking for an Alf comic? There may be a support group for that.

Did Wolverine jump ship to DC? I think this is a decent book. The thing that has never been proven is a TV character, in the current era, coming into the comic. Their are reinventions, like Felicity Smoak, but Merlin is basically a new character. So, in that panel is he announcing himself angrily in full name and moniker? Seems weird.

Doesn't you concern also have to do with it being a Modern Variant? From the perspective of someone sitting on fat stacks, the 'modern variant concerns' look a lot smaller, or so I've heard. I personally would think long and hard about buying a modern variant for $90 (check my paypal account, see when my next paycheck is coming, see if I plan to sell any other comics soon, etc). Yes, so an equivalent buy might be more in the $10-20 range, where you know you can cover it.

To be fair, people who can $9K comics are usually in a situation where they can financially meet the basic needs of life pretty comfortably, especially in America, where making $300K gets you pretty much the same life as making $2M per year (other than the size of your very nice house), of course excluding NYC and SF where studio apt's might cost you a mil. This is true. It is hard for me to conceive of spending 9k on one comic book (especially one that doesn't have a long track record) but if someone is making 3-4 times what I do then I guess it's not a big deal. Doesn't you concern also have to do with it being a Modern Variant?

The buyer might already have those books and they come up for sale all the time.

Because he/they would have to do that with every book. They are not good at keeping up on trends and the internet means the minute something is announced there is someone on their website buying it before the inflation. It's easier to keep the flippers from buying 5 hot books and limit it to two and say you're out of stock if the rest. Then you "get a new buyout" and you have more at the new inflated market price. I don't think they are holding drek on purpose. It's just that nobody wants the drek until they are on tv or whatever the kids like these days. Cool, thanks for contributing to the list. If you don't believe me, there are plenty of threads on here complaining about things like quantities being restricted after the order went through and prices jumping substantially when the buyer looked again. If they have it (disregarding the huge volume of unprocessed purchases they always have), it's on the site. You can't even attempt to purchase 5 copies of something if they only have 2 of them. You most certainly can. They adjust your order after they check their inventory. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. I bet I can't order ten copies of one book either, since their drop down only goes up to 5?
