  1. Please do some research and learn what the various publicly available numbers mean. If you don't understand them, don't criticize those who do. (The original Marvel) Star Wars, for example, was a slowly dying title that saw its print run drop by ~40% and sales drop by ~50% in the last 7-ish years. Sales dropped fairly consistently by around 10% per year, except in 1983-84 when sales briefly stabilized (not bumped from RotJ)... only to see a 20% drop the year after. There were still almost certainly over 100,000 copies sold, and roughly twice as many printed, of issue 107. It's not remotely rare, although it certainly appears scarce compared to the early issues. Cool, thanks for contributing to the list.
  2. War of the Undead 1-3. Not impossible to find, but I usually only find them in dollar bins. ( currently looking for #3 for a set)
  3. Well this is CGC's forum, if not here then where? Personally I love when odd things like this come up, just makes the hobby more interesting. Right. Just meant most other news outlets don't care about all that minutiae. It's first time Harry Potter is making an official appearance on a comic book ergo first appearance/comic debut. It's only here where you get heated debates about whether it should be labeled a cameo, 1st app, etc. Mind, labeling it a pin-up is probably the fairest and most accurate. Granted, I reckon majority of HP fans probably aren't even aware that you can slab comic books. The key word here is OFFICIAL appearance. Harry has other comic appearances. I see nothing in any definition of debut or first appearance that states the author of a book character adapted into comic form needs to be authorized. Go with Mystic 15. I could be wrong here, but I don't think he has ever been named. Not now, not before.
  4. Gave Vixen a nice bump. Nothing beyond her first app though. Same with all C-Z level characters.
  5. In regards to Pete C., it seemed like facts were presented and then lots of members had personal opinions about those facts. There are a number of members that have opinions about me in threads. Who do I send the "delete thread" requests to?
  6. Any chance at Nightwing? I thought it was the RAY? The freedom fighters That's an animated series, like the Vixen show. Should be sometime in 2017. Unfortunately, an animated series is a death-knell for a title, a serious setback to say the least. Gave Vixen a nice bump.

  8. Static Shock was announced in Oct. 2015. That's when rumors of Jaden Smith started circulating.
  9. Oh, thanks for clarifying the rules of pump and dump. Where may I review the rest of the rules?
  10. The pump wasn't really because of this board. That was due to widespread media coverage. People just took advantage of a quick flip. The PUMP and DUMP is people saying and trying to make this Harry Potter's "1st appearance"......because really, it's just a pin-up. Honestly, this is the only place I've seen where people are even enquiring how CGC will label the slabs. A lot of fans are probably just buying because JKR endorsed it and the money's going to a good cause. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/18/business/media/with-comic-book-celebrities-pay-tribute-to-orlando-victims.html?_r=1 http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2016/12/19/rowling-contributes-harry-potter-quote-to-comic-book-tribute/ http://io9.gizmodo.com/harry-potter-makes-comic-book-debut-in-lgbt-benefit-spe-1790466678 http://www.mtv.com/news/2965451/j-k-rowling-harry-potter-tribute-love-is-love-anthology/ I bought a grand total of 2 copies for my personal collection. I'm a bit of a Potterhead myself and all things considered, this is a drop in the bucket compared to what I've spent in theme park admissions and other Potter-related merchandise. Yup, mostly just one person in fact.
  11. How much do you have invested in this? Already profited... but keeping some as a collector. Ain't a regular speculator. Yup, the 'ol pump and dump... The pump wasn't really because of this board. That was due to widespread media coverage. People just took advantage of a quick flip. This poster clearly has their own agenda.
  12. I got out of my copies a long time ago. Sold a little too early even. Yeah clearly its dead. I see tons of raw cover 1a's on ebay ....just pages and pages of em. (sarcastic laughs) I guess people could sell them for $2 if they really wanted to get rid of them.

  14. Ohh, maybe you're more of a Jim Lee fan. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTOGRAPHED-MARVEL-COMICS-GAMBIT-1993-ISSUE-2-SIGNED-BY-JIM-LEE-/262781009869?hash=item3d2ef7ffcd:g:lvwAAOSw9GhYYuoC
  15. Anybody on here pick this up? Seems like it was a good price for a buyer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gabrielle-Dell-039-otto-/252696385796?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=YBcHawn4OWJ%252F3U95YQDePIkzcYM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  16. Ohhhh....right This Stan Lee signed The Amazing Spiderman 1993 #375 Gold foil 30th Anniversary Comic was given to me around 1995. I've compared the signature to others out there and it does seem to look a like, but I can not guarantee it is authentic as I was not there to verify or vouch for the signature as it happened. Please look at the pics and know that the pics you see, is what you will be receiving. Thank you for looking. No combined shipping. Again, please be aware that this is not an authentic signature, nor will I take the time to have it authenticated at all. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Signed-by-Stan-Lee-Marvel-Comics-The-Amazing-Spider-Man-375-Gold-Foil-Cover-039-93-/262780954118?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=YBcHawn4OWJ%252F3U95YQDePIkzcYM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  17. Of course I don't expect creators to come and ruin their opportunity. I would expect someone to keep cash in their pocket. Options that actually move forward have announcements along the way. Preacher was very slow, IMO, in movement. It was optioned 2/ 2014. Then they have to start writing it and the pilot was ordered 12/2014. 10 months and that taking into consideration that Seth Rogan was involved who has plenty of other movies, acting and writing. It hit TV 5 / 2016. Over two years from the option. Even though it was relatively slow, they still made announcements when they were working on it. Enormous was optioned 2 / 2015. Has their been any news since then? When someone says "Big News" for a property that is optioned, you would think it would be about the TV show or movie. Not the fact that they are coming out with another story arc. And, of course this is my opinion. I was simply stating my opinion as to the question that was posed as to why some people don't like Enormous anymore.
  18. I wasn't speaking about this book specifically or exclusively when I said what I said about cash and rumors, but anyway. So what is the line then? People like things to actually happen on a timetable that they can benefit from? The truth is no one writing any of this stuff really knows, it's all gambling. A little information coupled with a lot of feelings. People just want honesty. We don't have the information that the creators have. It's very rare that you hear a creator come out and say something is dead and 'm not sure why. Is it even remotely possible in the land of Oz you are speaking from that the creator might be under a NDA and can't disclose information at this time yet he wants to give us a tiny heads up? I know shocking isn't it. Right, I'm sure the 100 or so optioned comics are all under an agreement still.
  19. They have time limits on options. The Enormous team is notorious for coming on here and social media and stating "big news is coming". 1. Why do you have to make an announcement for big news? Why not just release the news? 2. Big news in comics means an option or advancement on an option. Like it or not, that's the environment that has been created.
  20. Like that Chuck likes to sell his books, right? There are definitely a few posters that routinely argue in the heating up thread and have never posted a book heating up. That's called not contributing.
