  1. That is a result of the subject of the cover and interior. So a Catwoman in the style of that Scandals cover would be doing just as well? Doing just as well as what? I'm not familiar with the sales history of Scandals book. But if Catwoman was on the cover, yes it would sell significantly better than whatever it does now. If you are appealing to a larger number of collectors while keeping the supply the same, your price is going to go up. You put Supergirl on the cover of Sally Forth 8 and you have a thousand dollar book.

  3. You posted this because...? (If you look at the listing, seller has two comics -- one slabbed, one reader. It seems maybe you didn't notice that.) No, I didn't notice that because there is no picture of it.
  4. Nope, I know there are more than 3 copies in existence.
  5. You're too quick The one in the Cleveland area?
  6. Find the asme item someone else is selling and do a sell similar.
  7. Order all 500 for retail of $125? get all the variants and a bunch of donations.... How to do that? If anyone wants to buy 500 copies for me I have $125 + shipping ready, I'll get the variants + a dozen issues, you can keep the rest Orders on this will be huge. Can you imagine any dealer NOT ordering $250 worth ?Super cheap and that would give them 7 variants on an order that size. This book is pushing itself into the top 10 each month without a 25 cent cover price. Any bets as to the final number ? My bet is placed at 500,000 plus. +1 I agree this might bump a WD issue to top 5 sales with this .25 cent cover. Sales for 163 won't chart since the price is less that $1. -shawn Yes, but the order numbers still get out. Wow did I underestimate! And all those variants that people already paid for
  8. Right. Because people don't know how rare it is. So, if someone's claiming that it's available, I'd like to see where. If it's not available, it's just possible that some people out there collect Adam Hughes rarities and might be interested to know about it. Or are we not supposed to post new information unless people already care about it, in which case it's not new? Yes, thank you for posting this book. I don't think most of us had heard about or seen it before. I'll say this every time like a broken record, rarity or relative rarity does not mean anything. Supply < demand is all that matters. Hughes has tons of early work that nobody seems to care about because it is not the style or quality of work that made him popular today. http://comicvine.gamespot.com/scandals-1-good-as-gold/4000-181440/ and someone else's WTB list: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4796457 OK, thanks. I haven't seen anyone that has a physical copy verify that though, per my previous comments about the art style. Sounds like it is Adam vs. Stephen though.
  9. The main thing that turns me off about the color is the horrible coloring. Looking up Thorby Comics other few books, one is Santa Claws, a reprint of Mike deodato's first work with Eternity. Got me thinking that maybe they bought a few things from Eternity. Then I was thinking about what Eternity is known for, Evil Ernie and Lady Death. The coloring definitely looks like Lady death art by artist Stephen Hughes. The signature looks similar to Hughes other early work with Innovation on Maze agency. The actual art does not look the same quality to me though.
  10. Somebody didn't have trouble finding these: Bloodshot #51 Maybe those were the result of years of hunting? Anyway, there are 6 raw copies on ebay right now, it's not like it doesn't exist. Yup, probably all of the books in this thread can be found on eBay. Link for Scandals? There's only one person that seems to care about that book. I'd pay well for one, especially stabbed. I suspect a fair number of others would, too. I suspect otherwise.
  11. 3-5 years ago there were many more true ratio variants and only one per issue. Now you have 5 different ratio variants plus a baby, action figure and a theme of the month variant.
  12. I didn't. If I would have known about it beforehand, I would have. -J. Back up http://www.ebay.com/itm/351952687118?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Thanks man. Not quite as enthusiastic at over triple the price though. -J. I bit on it and bought it but interestingly enough it says "sold for $1,000 USD" but that's not what I offered, paid for it? You were the buyer for $750?

  14. There are 40 qualified graded CGC books. There is no way to tell what caused them to be qualified. It could be an unverified signature (likely most of them) or it could be a manufacturing defect like yours. Missing a page wrap I would think does not happen very often. It would be less valuable, IMO.
  15. Sounds like you have all the info. you need.
  16. I've been trying to grab both of these in the last few months to no avail as yet. Surely we'll see Wrecking Club in the Marvel Cinematic/TV universe soon. If you like Wrecking Crew, I'd recommend Iron Fist 12 too, Claremont & Byrne with Iron Fist and Cap team up! Grap, and flip it quick cause absolute garbage doesnt sell high for long. What DREK Thanks to Beats by Dre, Dr. Dre is more of a household name than ever. It's only a matter of time before the movie comes along.

Since the preorder cutoff isn't until tomorrow couldn't the seller just adjust their orders to cover the amount of sales on eBay? That's exactly what they are doing. And right on cue, listings were pulled.
  19. ....with a lot of garbage variants nobody wanted in the first place. If they are sought after people would have bought most by now. There might by 3-5 of a hot variant that they did not previously have accounted for. I agree, there's at least a chance that there are some in there that some customers (or possibly retailers) didn't buy some of them initially because they didn't want to pay above cover, but would consider at a reduced price. Or possibly that a book or creator has gotten hotter in the time since the book was initially released That is typically the case. I remember someone saying they got some of the Dell 'Otto Original Sin variants last time.
