  1. CGC is a grading company who usually includes information about the book. They are not the decider of what is and what isn't. At the end of the day, all that matters is what you think.
  2. Sure thing. Welcome to your opinion, but the cameo vs. first appearance has been beat to death and there is nothing that defines it in every case. Yes same image; Cool
  3. 500+ feedback is a lot of work to create a shill account.
  4. What do you mean? I don't think it would be on purpose. It also could be covered by the dressing.
  5. The HP is a full self-contained work and not a little cameo, so I am almost positive this will qualify as 1st app. NYX #3 is CGC 1st app. of X-23 for one full page panel. There's nothing else to call it, really. As for it selling out... yup, it's going fast. Isn't it just one illustration, no story? Same billing as every other work in it. There is art, there is text (Rowling's). If CGC designated "1st stories" rather than 1st apps., would give pause. You donate to a good cause and you get a piece of history. I'm not going to obsess over the particulars... +1 It's a cameo at best. There is not context for a story to be associated with it. You can't really compare it to many other appearances because they are part of a story. I'm just stating that if people are only buying these to have them slabbed, you may not get what you are hoping for.

  7. She at it again.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/322367185139?rmvSB=true
  8. I'm not sure which is worse . . . your grammar or your taste in art. Well it can't be the art.
  9. That must be it.. Last year couldnt even give these away, theyre $10 a pop in NM now: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Comics/63/i.html?LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_from=R40&_nkw=Francis+Brother+Of+the+Universe+%231&_sop=13 Same thing. That books is now 37 years old and we tend to forget that. That book is now the midpoint between now and the Battle of Stalingrad. - Bah, the dreaded triple drek. The only way to counteract it's affects is with a great artist such as Liefeld or the likes.
  10. That is something the seller can set when they list an item. Not sure of the advantages, but I can see one glaring disadvantage.
  11. Yes, most of the second prints around that time are just interior splash pages. Still, most are better than the first print covers.
  12. Yea, my link was one of the early ones when it started heating up. By now the shops have been raideded and more available.
  13. They weren't all bad lists though. Wish I would have bought 20 copies of the May 92 books. http://hoknescomics.com/wizard199205.htm
  14. Right, but Overstreet was reporting sales. Whereas, as others have said, Wizard was stating books were hot before they were released.
  15. $100, should be in the cooling thread then. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9308311#Post9308311
  16. Yes. And just to be clear, I'm enjoying and learning from our discussion. <3 But this - prices realized of various brand slabs - is something I've paid a fair amount of attention to. That CGC "brings more $$" thing is not near so clear cut as many here and even CGC would have us believe. And it depends on where one sells their slabs. My observation is that CGC and Voldemort slabs on auction sites that focus on comic books (Heritage, Comic Connect, ComicLink) sell for equivalent prices. I've seen many the same book/same grade slabs from both companies close out in auctions literally seconds apart. Little difference in price and typically whichever book looks a bit nicer is the one that sells for the most money. If one sells to the....call them less informed...collectors on Facebook and eBay then you will get some "that's not a CGC graded book" and sometimes lower prices. But better informed collectors know who is running the competition. Better informed collectors have also been skeptical for decades of the wisdom of "investing" in heavily restored keys. Seems like that is an important fact. But I'm not sure how it factors into this legal complaint ..... So the dummy's buy CGC only and all the intelligent collectors buy from auction houses. Got it, thanks.
  17. Latest email, Chuck is blaming Amazon for HIS lack of sales this holiday season. This guy lives in his own world.
  18. I'm surprised that uncanny x force run doesn't get more pub or value. Were print runs really high? Wow, it was the big dog the month #1 dropped, 95k. Try and find the second print or variants though.
  19. Remender's Uncanny X-Force is definitely a modern classic storyline. Seen lots of good feedback on Fear Agent.
