  1. Very sharp looking 15 The girl in chains seems resigned to whatever fate awaits her!
  2. Been digging the horror books lately. One I picked up recently. Decided my white whale is going to be a Suspense 3.
  3. You should go with the direct to consumer approach. Why don't you list it here first, if it does not sell then move to the bay. Even with potential fees and shipping you will certainly make out better than what a brick and mortar will give you.
  4. Thanks folks. Just started collecting GA recently and happy to have been able to acquire this one.
  5. My entry via recent acquisition with some inside pics. A little bummed as I was page turning I noticed the center wrap was detached from the staple but still happy. I fell in love with the cover when I saw it.
  6. This is easily the best thread I have ever come across on the boards.
  7. Wonder if I overreacted on this one. Had a high bidder on a CGC 9.8 WD weekly 2. Not a big dollar book. He messages me a few days ago asking if I ship in a box for protection. I reply in the affirmative adding with lots of bubble wrap. No harm and appreciate those questions. Tonight I get another message from him simply stating: "Read or unread?" At first I was just going to reply unknown as it's not from my collection. Then I was thinking its a CGC 9.8 WP does it really matter? Something just didn't sit right with me with a question like this. I simply cancelled his bids and blocked him. I feel a little bad but will get over it. Thoughts from the peanut gallery? (Not going to list his ID at this point)
  8. A recent pick up on the boards. As a new GA Tec collector one thing I'm realizing is that Robin sure needs to be saved quite a bit by Batman.
  9. Andy bought a SA book from me. Great guy, paid quick and communicated perfectly.
  10. Not often do you see two Tec 27s in one photo! Wow! No words to describe this one!
  11. Ok, so you now have the book in hand and now you are shipping it to someone else. Who are you shipping the book to? Are you shipping the book to your friend who paid the $700 or a different/new buyer? If a different/new buyer, how much did it sell for? I'm not sure if I would provide a pic if I were you, at least not if you have already sold the book to someone else, especially if you've already accepted the money for the book. While we're all curious, it would probably be a better business practice to get the consent of your customer first before posting a picture of THEIR book. They may hope to sell it someday (maybe soon), and may not appreciate all the information (especially cost info) already posted about the book to be publicly available to a future potential buyer. So what's the over/under that said book actually exists? That UPS story is twilight zone bizarre too.
  12. The comic came in today but UPS was playing stupid games and today the guy knocked once, dropped the package and ran off I'm just thankful the guy packed so well So what were "the stupid games" that UPS was playing? Are you saying the guy literally DROPPED the package and literally "ran off"? IS your friend satisfied with the book? Care to share some pics? The games that UPS was playing was claiming they knocked on the door and no one was there all three times which is bs and finally he can again and kocked once, and literally dropped the package and ran off. What pissed me off most is he said he couldn't understand my sign that said "Knock on door #1" Pics will come tomorrow as I need to ship the comic tomorrow anyway. Can we see a scan of the book?
  13. Yes it was Chris however grabbed this one from his sales thread on the boards last month. Didn't know he threw a bunch more up on the bay.
  14. I tried to join this club yesterday but didn't bid enough. Did you see that copy on eBay? Love that cover! I must have missed the copy on eBay as well. How much did it sell for? It was a solid raw 6.5 with amazing color for $316. I was STUPID not to just go $420 and lock it down. My two biggest regrets are the books I sell that I wish I didn't and the books I don't bid enough on. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Scoop-Comics-8-Fine-Cond-/311671678070?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=VQxhB4DvN3Upizq2IibEgJ%252BKTI4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Sorry, I snagged this copy along with the 4 fav 6 and a nice eerie 14. I'll post up pics when I get them in.
  15. Been wanting one of these for a LONG time. Picked this one up from a boardie!!
  16. Sold a few BA Keys to Hector.. Good communication, quick payment.. Super smooth!
  17. My understanding is that he is a very well respected member of this community. Sometimes these things happen especially when you sell many books in different venues. Not making excuses but seems like you might be making a mountain out of a molehill by adding him here.
  18. When he was trying to say his post was going to be deleted and he paged up to see the posts before his...."who'z dis? Dis, buzz-guy...oh yeah...Buzzass" Pick it up at the 10:50 mark.
  19. Once the buyer threw out the threat of giving neg feedback in an attempt to extort additional comp in some way or another which was implied in his message it would have been a big FU from me all day long. I personally would have refunded his shipping and/or maybe gave him a discount on another purchase if I was overly concerned about getting a neg but I don't make a living selling books so I can choose what I want to do. I had a buyer neg me because I forgot to leave feedback for him - FU Had another request a return of a slabbed book claiming damage from eBays return system so I pay the return shipping and he never ships the item back, after 2 months I report him then somehow get a neg. For all it's warts though I will continue to use eBay as it has a wide audience just annoying having to deal with some people.
