  1. Been trying to get a higher grade book for the last few months, I continually get outbid. I think I'm going to drop my expectations to a 7.5 - 8.0. Don't really want to go over 1k but looking less and less likely an 8.0 will be selling that low again as it's been maintaining above that mark for well over a year. Was looking at raws too but those are going for crazy prices as well. One of the hotter BA books out there right now.
  2. See this link. Have not personally tried it but may be what you're looking for. http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Block-a-Sellers-Listings-/10000000006694277/g.html
  3. Very nice little score out in the wild. Love seeing these types of finds turn up.
  4. Thx guys... Onto the next! @oakman29 for some reason had you pegged for one of the few that had one of everything, but all in good time, one will make its way into your hands.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I had it pegged at around a 6.0, which I would be pretty happy with. Keeping my fingers crossed that @Marwood & I guesstimate is right though. Will be sending into CCS/CGC on my next submission.
  6. Sorry for the lame scan, but you get the gist. Happy to finally be able to afford a copy of this.
  7. Would like some input on grade as this one stands and if you think any bump-up would be achieved with a dry-clean and press. Thanks in advance!
  8. They have been discussed at length in this thread. First post has a different email you might try. Looks like folks have had different types of issues with them in the past. They did post in this thread but not sure how active they are.
  9. Did it? Thought it had a reserve that was not met.
  10. So what's the monetary number where the line is drawn by those manning the gates up in the sky? $200, $500, $1000? Do they look at things on a cumulative basis over a lifetime or is each occurrence treated separately? I'd like to know so when my ticket is punched I can still get in while pocketing some pesos along the way.
  11. You know I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to come across as the morality police. While I would do this, and have my child do the same, I won't pass judgement. All I'd say is when you do the right thing, it will come back to you 10x in other ways. Heck the seller may just tell her to keep it, or comp her a nice GA book!
  12. No, I don't think so but you can change your settings to block bidders with x number of strikes ( I think it's 2 for some period of time) from bidding on any of your auctions.
  13. Agree that USPS should have liability if they failed to obtain a valid signature. I really think FT has this guy dead to rights now as it should be easy for PP to confirm the identity of the ebay seller which I'm betting matches up with the person who bought stole the book from him. The fact that it was listed for sale while still in transit is just icing on the cake. Add the additional point that he did not pull the listing when he claimed the book went "missing" and let it run to conclusion. IMO the delivery confirm from the mail carrier should have been enough for PP to rule in his favor from the on-set though. This happened to me once receiving a VERY expensive book and the mailman signed it "DD" the book was there when I got home but I made a point to call the postmaster and let them know. I think the USPS employee was fired shortly thereafter as a result. Let's keep our fingers crossed FT is made whole on this, and soon.

  15. I think a book with this serial # was selling on eBay that ended on July 1 (had a reserve not met) here's a link to the completed sale: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=X-men+94+9.6&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Complete=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=07078&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50
  16. This book, and Scoop 2 are my 2 favorite underwater covers. Unfortunately don't own either yet...
  17. I'd be around a 6.0/6.5 with this one, there's a lot going on with that entire top FC. Doubt it will pull in an 8.0.
  18. Interesting info. I while back I bought a raw FC 386 from this seller and thought the price I paid was reasonable. Will be more diligent in looking at the bid activity go-forward though.
  19. I drove 4.5 hours in a blizzard one way (a ride that would normally take 35 minutes) responding to a craigslist ad for 2 boxes of SA books that was being sold for $80. There were about 150 books total, the seller would not let me go through the boxes so I only saw the top 4 books as the were stacked on their backs 2 columns in each box. I recall seeing the covers of a flash 139 and a Tec 360. Once I got home 3 hours later with the boxes found nice copies of Tec 359 and Bats 181 among others, first SA two face and scarecrow. Probably the best score in the wild I ever had. 7.5 hours total drive time and when I got home my wife said I was completely certifiable. Till this day I don't regret that white knuckled drive.
